The scars on Nora are actual things that people struck by lightning will have and we get Ren finally not being able to bottle up and ignore his emotions after never having to really deal with them sense he was a small child. Also if you notice in the one where Oscar meets Salem you can hear children's laughs and she has 4 small shadowy figures above her hand, seemingly thinking about their children that she possibly killed durring their fight and she would most likely blame that on him.
The lines on Nora are known as Lichtenberg lines or scars, the result of an electrical shock. While they usually fade with time, they can be permanent.
Blake spinning on the chair is such a mood. But the funniest thing about that bit of animation is they motion-captured it. Someone at RT got paid to be recorded spinning on a chair that day...
9:05 Key reason Salem has not just thrown her entire horde at Atlas yet; psychological warfare. She aims to create fear and anxiety and I have to agree, waiting for the end times is much worse than going through it. It's that uncertainty that really grips and rips the psyche apart.
One of my favorite things about Salem as a villain, as a villain connoisseur I LOVE a good villain :3, is like... she always knows who she's talking to. Ya know? Like with Oscar BEFORE she tortured him, she tried to be nice to him, to extend an olive branch, and her tone is almost nice. With Cinder she's stern and readily puts the rebellious teen, who isn't a teen lol, in her place. With Tyrian she's very affectionate toward him like she knows her audience ya know? And Cinder also thinks herself a Salem but, and I love her, she's REALLY not lol
@@bossmode3769 Well to be fair, Salem was also a whiny little child in her flashback before she became the Salem we know now. The both of them also have an "Oh me, Oh my" attitude thinking that their lives are so much more unfair than others which should entitled them for more in life. So in a sense, Cinder is indeed just like a mini-Salem in her youth. The main difference between them is that Salem was born with power so she never had a craving for more, unlike Cinder. Volume 1-3 Cinder was manipulative, cunning and methodical in her way of scheming and very much a threat (imo), but once she had a taste of power she became too cocky, impatient and extremely reckless. She relies too much on her Maiden Powers now and thinks it's all she needs to get what she wants, but is too overconfident that she often loses. So I have to wonder, how much more of a threat would Cinder be now if she returned to her roots and becomes just as manipulative and cunning as she was before? Hmm, I guess only time will tell.
@@bethaofhouseblackwood234 Cinder IS smart, she knew how to break Ironwood and sparked the beginning of volume 8 by her self after all, but she's not Salem smart
I feel like Cinder is an insult to my intelligence at time, I keep telling myself , how do these writers get away with it. Cinders character is for children in the 7 to 10 age bracket, she has nothing about her, she as simple a villian as you could get. Honestly my head hurts just thinking about cinder. Poor dialogue , poor VA , poor motivation, at this point I have Cinder fatigue Let's see what CRWBY do with Salem, I hope they put some respect on Salem's name after they undermined her in V8 for cinder. Salem as a character has so much potential, unlike Cinder who's long outlived her usefulness If people like Cinders character, that's fine , I'm not trying to insult anybody or make anyone feel small, but Cinder is just not for me.
I love the way how, when Pietro took control of Penny, her movements were very robotic and precise, then the second Penny comes back she's immediately wiggly and fluid.
17:10 The shift from sad "ohhh Penny" to excited "ohhh Penny!" was great. XD 31:10 Literally, all I could think about was the different discrete ways you could hold someone's hand and be lied to. Imagine? Your boyfriend kneeling down, taking your hand in his and saying, "I love you, will you marry me?" and your Semblance going off to tell you he's lying. ; u ; I love this episode, not just for the fight scene, Salem savagery, the double meaning of the title, but especially Ren being the devil's advocate for the group. They were given a role they are technically not qualified for. They didn't go through the proper amount of years of training before getting their license, and Ruby even less so. All of the calls they're making, it affects people's lives, and just the pressure alone screws with people. In the previous volume, Ren wanted to keep training, even on "A Night Off". When his father came into the house during the Grimm attack, and his mom said that they could go in the shelter, and he adamantly went, "No, we need a hunstman." as if the presence of just one would solve all their problems. Could stop a Grimm that needed Team RNJR to beat. I think he's being incredibly hard on himself to be strong, to live up to what a Huntsman should be in his mind. So, like, yeah. ouo Also, funfact, Ren's double-rope thingy saving Jaune and Yang is a direct reference to something Mulan does in her Disney movie, saving Shang by shooting an arrow up to a cliff.
Cinder is not taking being replaced by Salem's new hound very well, now is she? Unlike Cinder, the hound does as it's told and actually succeeds in the task.
I think Ironwood trying to use Watts to achieve his goals with Penny is an indication of just how far his mental state has deteriorated. They know just how good Watts is in manipulating computer systems, yet they don't seem to have anyone with tech skills overseeing his work. It certainly seems overly optimistic to think that they can control everything Watts does by giving him access to tech.
Ironwood: Sorry for the delay, today has been.... *murder* "You put salmon in the microwave!" Elm: Winter's in critical condition, because of you. No, its because of Cinder. Harriet: You stole what was Winter's right. I mean, if she didn't, Cinder would have it and Penny didn't "steal" jacksh@t since Winter wasn't in the condition to gain it. the more i think on it, the more i want to give May the benefit of the doubt with her “nickname” for Penny. we see the huntresses try to fill the void with Robyn being arrested with a lot of mixed success.
just gotta say Ren was pretty outta pocket for apparently saying multiple times that he had to let go of the hound to save Oscar... that's not very cash money my guy 👁👄👁 also I ADORE the animation and the whole scene with Salem reaching for Oscar's face and him just flinching away from her and the fear in his eyes at 41:06 and then her smile right after??? THAT is true fear such a good moment!
Of course they will disagree, and yet Yang's comment about Ruby's leadership in front of everyone was a low blow. Nothing wrong with discussing different plans.

Nora hitting all floors in the elevator is a callback to the chapter following the dance when Ruby apologized for being late to Ozpin.
I firmly believe that they told Nora’s voice actress to “do a Sayin transformation scream”, and no one can convince me otherwise
