But one question that I wanna put here is that Manipur during that time, I learnt in history books was totally submerged under water and so called kings had to live on hills. How come kings play polo on hills where there was hardly plain area on it . It's totally in contrast to my knowledge that polo was played in the valley which was under water. Pls some one enlighten me on this ....
Manipur is a state surrounded by hills and mountains however, the mainland Manipuri (Meiteis) have been living in the valley areas(you might look up google). Apart from Manipuri Meiteis in Manipur we still have other tribes (nagas and kukis and other tribes who are called meiteis brothers ) who have been living in the hilly areas. I am just giving you a little background! Polo originated from Manipur. You see Polo today because of Manipur. Steven rightly said!
