My brother was there on job for nearly 10 years in Mangalore before retirement. I used to come there from Madras(Chennai). Mangalore people are religious, helpful. Roadside stealing is comparatively less in Mangalore. Safe city. I went to Udupi Temple also. Lot of Banking business and Banking people emerged from these two cities during early times.

And we tuluvas are only living in Karnataka and it doesn't mean that we are kannadigas. We are independently cultured and we have our own dignity. So in the first comment he has mentioned Kannada flag in a heart, so Mangalore, Udupi and Kasaragod are in Tulunad and it can newer be a Kannada reigon
