I dont like the first one...pulling the logs...if that cable slips off or breaks...you are going to find yourself cut into two pieces there.... not impressed.
The motor may not even be strong enough to break the cable, but cables do wear out. All it needs is a remote control so you can move out of the danger zone.
@@bigredc222 Exactly. Its not a heavy cable. But same withy car winches.... a remote just moves one out of the extreme area. Shitz happens ..but its too late when a broken cable snaps back!
@@sqnhunter A guy sitting inside his truck got killed not long ago. From what I understand he tried to use his winch like a snatch rope, and whatever it was attached to on the other truck broke off and came through his the windshield and killed him.
@@bigredc222 Yes...I have heard of these things happening. I used to be big on 4WD racing....and we always used a 20 meter remote cable extension when using them after hearing about peoples bad luck stories.

Some of these items, ie plastic trackway pads & flood controls, are just another addition to plastic waste. Recycle all our plastics by melting them together into picnic benches or sectional walls etc. Never dump or Burn plastic, too toxic! **As for the logging technique, do Not cut down trees. Plant More trees instead! And Wood in construction is not fireproof.
You know everything that shouldn't be done, how about coming up with solutions. Wood can be made fireproof, but it probably involves using a chemical that you wouldn't approve of.

If the load on that winch hangs up and cable breaks the operator standing behind it could be severely injured or worse.
Pressed sawdust/glueboard will not hold up to attack by moisture!

First up their using a steel rope !! Not a synthetic rope !!
