    Most underrated city in all of America! Say it time and time again... How many cities can you say are right off or by the lake!??? Not many, that's another element of what makes this city so great! Not to mention, The Rock'N' Roll HOF, Great Lakes Science Theater, World Re known Orchestra bands and eclectic style of restaurant and entertainment we have to offer. City is beautiful in so many ways! "The Land" is the place to be! lol

    I've lived in downtown Cleveland for over 8 years. You missed alot. I would have included a Lake Erie sunset at Voinovich Park, the sailboats off the breakwater every weekend, 6th street on a Saturday night - girls primped for a night of dancing, lake freighters on the Cuyahoga River, the Warehouse Street Festival on 9th Street, Winterfest, Muni Lot tailgates, Walnut Wednesdays, 4th Street anytime, wedding pictures at Voinovich Park, East Flats makeover, Cleveland Air Show, etc... bottom line, you missed alot. Downtown Cleveland is the place to be. Ask anyone who lives here.

    I lived in Cleveland for over 53 years. Not far from downtown on the West side. First off let me say this video was done exceptionally well with talented videographers and editors. The supporting music is incredible! Sadly, I caught brief glimpses of this while living near the Tremont area where carjackings/vehicle thefts, rampant shootings/drive-by's sent bolts into the night and drugs and hooker activity held sway over all. Granted, while living there my house was only broken into one while my heighbors (who did not have dogs,) were broken into so many times they had issues finding Insurance. In closing: I Believe this to be the BEST Pro-Cleveland videos I have ever seen. To you and yours, Fantastic work! If you are not an Advertisement company you should consider this. Love, -Mark

    I'm from Cleveland. And do you know what is missing from this well made video of Cleveland in the summer? Let me give you a hint. Fall...Winter...Spring. Is that enough of a hint? I love cleveland in the summer, even into September and October...beautiful. And then comes November. What happens in November? It turns to crap. December is nice because all the Christmas lights and light snow. January, February, March...HORRIBLE. April is a tease. April is such a tease. May, maybe you are out of the thick of the storm...maybe. Then comes June, July and August. Cleveland goes nuts for three months because the summer is so, oh so good...and party! But the cycle does not stop. By the end of September, everyone is getting ready to hunker in. The sailboats only sail for 6 months out of a year. Cleveland, I love it and hate it. Therefore I moved. Thanks but no thanks...you can have it. I moved to Tampa. But I will miss Cedar Point in the fall when Lake Erie is so beautiful and the roller coasters run fast. Cleveland, it's not a bad town, it's just...well...I think I made my point.

    • @paulbednarski3216
      @paulbednarski3216 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +spiritualastronomy I think you miss two points: 1) This is a tourism video and overwhelmingly, most people/families vacation in the summer months. And 2) I think it would be hard to find a similar chamber of commerce-like sponsored video from ANY four-season city that doesn't center on summer. Ever see a snowy one for Boston or Chicago or Pittsburgh or Philly? Finally, I've been to
      Tampa in July and remembered thinking, you've really got to hate snow to endure that every summer. No people on the street, shades drawn, it's as crazily hot/humid as Cleveland can be cold. (And unlike Florida, Cleveland storms usually are not accompanied by the adjective "devastating" or come with a natural disaster proclamation.

    Moved back to CLE in 2014 - Missed it every day when we were gone for two years. Living now in Ohio City where we lived before and there are still times I get misty-eyed for being back in the city I love, the neighborhood I love - and seeing the development and progress all around. That said, I do wish the definition of "affordable housing" so far as apartments meant that a one bedroom could be had for around $475 in a place like Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway or Downtown/Midtown. The company I work for is relocating to E. 9th in 2016, and I'd love to be able to live downtown and take the trolley/walk/bike to work and not even worry that I don't have a car.... but "affordable" at $800 a month or much more? Not for me.

    • @sp44113
      @sp44113 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure many people sound ridiculous for many reasons to many other people. It would be a boring world if we were all the same. I never said I didn't understand the *reason* for the cost - and my saying $800, that was a minimal guesstimate. I know there are downtown apartments in Cleveland going for well over $1,000 and much of it is due to the RNC coming to town, so yes, I get it. That doesn't mean I have to like it. I'm sure there are things you understand and don't like, right? No need to get so defensive and condescending.

    There are good reasons the Cleveland area is known as "The best location in the nation," the best being that it is in a location of "balance." That is it is well located with little climate extremes with four seasons, it is centrally located, the cost of living and property values are outstanding compared to other localities, with proper education there are career opportunities and the highway systems in and out are outstanding. That's my opinion and "I am sticking to it." (Of course I have lived in the Cleveland area most of my life.) : )

Where are some old folks like me? I am 69 years of age and I like downtown and lots of these things shown here too. Let's show the world Cleveland is for EVERYONE!

      Minervamuse Because showing old people is the kiss of death for any chamber of commerce and business group promotional videos. Especially for a fraud organization like the Downtown Cleveland Alliance that's in bed with the local politicians and a sleazy out-of-state billionaire.

    • @Ptpop
      @Ptpop 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am 51 and from a marketing perspective they are targeting the "young people" with this advert to attract a new generation, new money etc. The music is "young" the editing is modern etc. Us old farts to don't attack "new blood" to the city. But then again they have been trying to revamp Cleveland's image for at least the last 35 years and so far not too many are buying into it.

    • @paulmason7002

      That's just not true. There has been an explosion of Millenials moving downtown . The city can not build apartments fast enough to accommodate the demand. Just go downtown and will see the tremendous growth and development.

    Maybe a few too many "ohoh-ohoh's", but it was really nice. I could feel the good energy and optimism rolling off of that video.
    Now, about the crime; teddy bears and candle-light vigils won't cut it. I recently visited Cleveland to try to decide whether I wanted to move there, and I'd never seen so much blight bumping up against so much beauty. I left with a good feeling, but I was left feeling unsettled, as well. There were so many beautiful homes and streets where I might want to live smashed right against barred doors and decay. I believe whole-heartedly in integration, but something has gone wrong, hasn't it?
    Who is letting young kids shoot even younger kids? Who is hiding and accepting and sticking up for those who are violent and without direction? What are their excuses? I think I've heard them all, and I'm tired of them. I've seen pastors and family stick up for violent offenders just because they were once cuddly toddlers.
    Madness.
    Cleveland, quit giving the perpetrators attention (including spreading their faces all over the news) and let your light shine.

    These changes are great but unfortunately they're not the result of a bustling economy. A lot of this I publicly financed which doesn't bring wealth. We gotta remove all the red tape and let businesses have the freedom to operate. Then money will come back to the city and bigger projects can take place that will be the result of actual wealth, not fake public financing creating an illusion of improvement. The art museums, playhouse square, the clinic and the orchestra were the results of a real bustling economy. Let the invisible hand work Cleveland!

      BINGO! And no more tax abatements and tax credits for the businesses, either. But don't say that out loud, the Downtown Cleveland Alliance will have their goons try to pull a stunt similar to when they stole all of Scene's newspaper boxes to silence opposition to hundreds of millions public $$$$$$$ more in arena financing.
