Thank you for the helpful list! I have Japanese anemone/thimbleweed in Zone 9b. It's thriving and slowly spreading over the years. The leaves stay low to the ground, but the flowers get so tall in the summer. Right now they're up to my chest (I'm 5'9"). The flowers are white, and I didn't know they come in pink! i want the pink ones now, too.

Japanese anemones esp Anemone hupehensis can be very invasive, especially in new freshly dug borders or sandy soils as their vigorous roots will travel far and you'll find them growing through your beloved plants becoming entangled and even more difficult to remove. Planting one is manageable, planting several can turn into a nightmare. If you want anemones, be selective and look for hybrids which will be less invasive.
