@@FrizleFry00Super late reply, but this is indeed a solo side project. They went under the name Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. They released two live albums and only one studio album of original compositions. I think that they created some of the best music that Les has been apart of, which is really saying something considering the high level of quality that he has maintained throughout his entire career.

There have been many amazing player’s who would touch on some of these techniques during their solos etc but Les brought them into the verses and chorus. I am a musician. The best bass player I’ve ever heard/saw. Was the bass player for a band that was touring with Alvin Lee decades ago. The name of the band was, the American tears. That bass player did not use special effects or echo chambers or reverb like the guy in this video. This guy was playing 16 notes per measure accurately in a solo that lasted about 10 minutes. I think the band was an English band touring with alvin lee..
I have been a guitar player since the 1960s. I still play here in 2022. That performance by that bass player in that band, no one in the audience will ever forget that. Friends of mine that were there with me to see Alvin Lee, we still talk about that awesome talent of that bass player in that band no one has ever heard of. I’m guessing The time frame was 1970s
