I mean he was right, his backstory is the worst or at least one of the worst backstories in demon slayer, BUT that doesn't mean that anyone that had it "easier" (I had to use quotes or people would cry about the use of the word in this case) than him should not be allowed to feel pain.
My thoughts on the whole Iguro vs Tomioka trauma thing and how both are valid: Most people are raised in different environments, so some may be more sensitive to certain things while others can easily bounce back from it simply because that's their norm. If you were raised in a wealthy, loving, and just overall amazing environment, you are going to be more sensitive to simpler things then somebody who was raised in a scathing, exhausting, and unloving environment. Their normal may be the worst thing that has ever happened to you. Just because one person my bleed a ton, doesn't mean somebody who doesn't bleed as much cannot be freaked out when they see blood. Our brains don't go through the same trauma and pain. Have you ever had a war veteran call you weak for something that was incredibly important to you? That's what I'm trying to get at. A war veteran will not cry over a ripped stuffed animal in the same way a young, prissy child will. It may seem unfair to you to hear somebody cry over their parents yelling at them when you were violently abused by yours, I completely understand your perspective, but you also need to understand that people just AREN'T the same. Just because you wouldn't cry if your parents yelled at you, doesn't mean that somebody else won't. It's not fair to invalidate somebody else's experiences and emotions just because you had a worse experience. They don't know what that experience is like, their experience is the worst one for THEM, not YOU. Their brain won't understand just exactly it is like to go through something worse, so you can't possibly expect them to not cry whenever it's the worst thing that happened to THEM. An additional thought using this logic: I think a lot of people tend to forget that or just blatantly ignore it and invalidate people's feelings and trauma, it's why a lot of people who are depressed feel bad about being depressed because they "don't have a reason for it." The thing that caused them to be depressed was made out to be so small when in reality it was genuinely the worst thing ever in their eyes, that happened to them at least. My grandpa was a war veteran and a prison warden, he's experienced everything from watching his friend's brains be blown in to doing it himself to being around the most insane people in the world, that is the worst trauma for HIM. I cried when I WATCHED a car/semi truck crash and blow up in front of me, he would not do that simply because worse things have happened to him. I wasn't even involved in the crash and I started to cry because it is different to hear about things like this and see it on TV then to actually watch it play out in real life, my brain had never seen it before so it felt unreal. My grandpa however, would not have cried, he was a bomb specialist in the military, he blew them up and defused them all the time. Those explosions do not compare to mine, but my tears are still validated because I do not have the same experienced and traumatized brain as him.

I feel like theres no point to say this, but also that it makes Tomiokas story sadder lmao 😭 . His and Tsutakos parents died from illness when he was really young, so he didn't remember them, meaning that Tsutako is the only person hed known as a parental figure his entire childhood, so he literally lost a parenta, figure and sister in the same day at the same time and in the same way 😔😔

Tomioka personally pisses me off because 1. his behavior when meeting with Tanjiro. His screams at a teenager who had just lost his family. and why this poke in Nezuko’s shoulder with a sword, couldn’t he just kill her? He needs to see what the kid will do when his sister is being tortured. 2. why did he leave Nezuko alive at all? As we know, Muzan can watch and control all the demons except Nezuko. What if Nezuko were an ordinary demon and thanks to her Muzan found out the location of the history makers corporation (spoiler then the manga would have ended) 3. and how Tomioka whines oh my god. I get that iguro has a sad past but like trauma should never be compared like at all no matter how easy someone had it, bc at the end it depends how a person deals with it! Giyuu might act like that towards others but take it from his POV he has social anxiety and communication problems and that's actually a mental illness (my brother has it) and no it doesn't go fast my brother had it since he's born and he's still suffering from it. Ik that iguro had it bad and I won't say he didn't but that doesn't give him the right to act like that especially since in the manga he also felt guilty for 50 women who died bc of him in his family so he put of everyone should know how it feels to know someone died bc it of you. And each person deal with trauma differently, shinobu acts liek her sister, sanemi acts harsh towards everyone including his brother, muichiro acts so cold and emotionless (till he met tanjiro) and giyuu acts like this bc of his mental illness like literally from what I saw from his character he has depression, social anxiety and more ad in pretty sure if he didn't run away from his village and they actually sent him to the relative of his who knows what would happen? I have this hc that if he didn't run away he would end up in a mental facility aka an asylum idk man. But either way nice video!

I was never a big fan of Tomioka but I do find his backstory quite sad. I still don’t like Tomioka very much even knowing his backstory but then again thats just me.
For me, comparing trauma doesn't help anyone or anything . There were two girls i know on Discord who got graped, but the difference between one got grape and abused by her own mother, and the other one was just a guy . They both came with the same trauma, but they both had different paths like tanjiro and nezuko and gyutaro and daki. Of course, they're different but they have the same background . I understand iguro but i think its wrong how giyu just silence and you accuse him for anything. You guys even got angry what he said in ep 1 . But you and Sameni are assholes to people. I cant stand it. I love them both but i hate hypocrites

I feel like theres no point to say this, but also that it makes Tomiokas story sadder lmao 😭 .
His and Tsutakos parents died from illness when he was really young, so he didn't remember them, meaning that Tsutako is the only person hed known as a parental figure his entire childhood, so he literally lost a parenta, figure and sister in the same day at the same time and in the same way 😔😔

Tomioka personally pisses me off because
1. his behavior when meeting with Tanjiro. His screams at a teenager who had just lost his family. and why this poke in Nezuko’s shoulder with a sword, couldn’t he just kill her? He needs to see what the kid will do when his sister is being tortured.
2. why did he leave Nezuko alive at all? As we know, Muzan can watch and control all the demons except Nezuko. What if Nezuko were an ordinary demon and thanks to her Muzan found out the location of the history makers corporation (spoiler then the manga would have ended)
3. and how Tomioka whines oh my god. For example, all the pillars.

I get that iguro has a sad past but like trauma should never be compared like at all no matter how easy someone had it, bc at the end it depends how a person deals with it! Giyuu might act like that towards others but take it from his POV he has social anxiety and communication problems and that's actually a mental illness (my brother has it) and no it doesn't go fast my brother had it since he's born and he's still suffering from it. Ik that iguro had it bad and I won't say he didn't but that doesn't give him the right to act like that especially since in the manga he also felt guilty for 50 women who died bc of him in his family so he put of everyone should know how it feels to know someone died bc it of you. And each person deal with trauma differently, shinobu acts liek her sister, sanemi acts harsh towards everyone including his brother, muichiro acts so cold and emotionless (till he met tanjiro) and giyuu acts like this bc of his mental illness like literally from what I saw from his character he has depression, social anxiety and more ad in pretty sure if he didn't run away from his village and they actually sent him to the relative of his who knows what would happen? I have this hc that if he didn't run away he would end up in a mental facility aka an asylum idk man. But either way nice video!

For me, comparing trauma doesn't help anyone or anything . There were two girls i know on Discord who got graped, but the difference between one got grape and abused by her own mother, and the other one was just a guy . They both came with the same trauma, but they both had different paths like tanjiro and nezuko and gyutaro and daki. Of course, they're different but they have the same background . I understand iguro but i think its wrong how giyu just silence and you accuse him for anything. You guys even got angry what he said in ep 1 . But you and Sameni are assholes to people. I cant stand it. I love them both but i hate hypocrites
