My thoughts on the whole Iguro vs Tomioka trauma thing and how both are valid: Most people are raised in different environments, so some may be more sensitive to certain things while others can easily bounce back from it simply because that's their norm. If you were raised in a wealthy, loving, and just overall amazing environment, you are going to be more sensitive to simpler things then somebody who was raised in a scathing, exhausting, and unloving environment. Their normal may be the worst thing that has ever happened to you. Just because one person my bleed a ton, doesn't mean somebody who doesn't bleed as much cannot be freaked out when they see blood. Our brains don't go through the same trauma and pain. Have you ever had a war veteran call you weak for something that was incredibly important to you? That's what I'm trying to get at. A war veteran will not cry over a ripped stuffed animal in the same way a young, prissy child will. It may seem unfair to you to hear somebody cry over their parents yelling at them when you were violently abused by yours, I completely understand your perspective, but you also need to understand that people just AREN'T the same. Just because you wouldn't cry if your parents yelled at you, doesn't mean that somebody else won't. It's not fair to invalidate somebody else's experiences and emotions just because you had a worse experience. They don't know what that experience is like, their experience is the worst one for THEM, not YOU. Their brain won't understand just exactly it is like to go through something worse, so you can't possibly expect them to not cry whenever it's the worst thing that happened to THEM. An additional thought using this logic: I think a lot of people tend to forget that or just blatantly ignore it and invalidate people's feelings and trauma, it's why a lot of people who are depressed feel bad about being depressed because they "don't have a reason for it." The thing that caused them to be depressed was made out to be so small when in reality it was genuinely the worst thing ever in their eyes, that happened to them at least. My grandpa was a war veteran and a prison warden, he's experienced everything from watching his friend's brains be blown in to doing it himself to being around the most insane people in the world, that is the worst trauma for HIM. I cried when I WATCHED a car/semi truck crash and blow up in front of me, he would not do that simply because worse things have happened to him. I wasn't even involved in the crash and I started to cry because it is different to hear about things like this and see it on TV then to actually watch it play out in real life, my brain had never seen it before so it felt unreal. My grandpa however, would not have cried, he was a bomb specialist in the military, he blew them up and defused them all the time. Those explosions do not compare to mine, but my tears are still validated because I do not have the same experienced and traumatized brain as him.

THIS exactly!! they both suffered in their own ways, and both of their trauma is valid. both of them also have imposter syndrome and survivor's guilt (and imo, are both passively suicidal. obanai wants to die fighting muzan so he can 'cleanse his filthy blood', and giyuu wishes it was him who had died instead of sabito and tsutako). in fact i'd argue that they have a pretty similar backstory. both their family members died for them. obanai's clan when he escaped and tsutako the night before her wedding. they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, which i guess in this case is true.
I saw someone like yesterday trying to compare past, to like try to figure it out who had the worst past and like, dude, I understand it's like fiction but like still there is still kids who grow up in cults, and have to try to escape. I ACTUALLY LOVED THIS SM! you got straight to the point with the deaths, didnt spend an overbearing time on them and instead showed how happy Giyuu was. I also love how Iguro snapped, clearly showing implications to his own backstory. I also loved how all the hashiras, including shinobu and Sanemi are often mischaracterized as being heartless, showed genuine care towards a fellow hashira. Especially Sanemi after finding out the real reason why Giyuu said ‘He was different’ after all hid annoyance towards Giyuu stems from that. I thought this video was done very well!

I feel like theres no point to say this, but also that it makes Tomiokas story sadder lmao 😭 . His and Tsutakos parents died from illness when he was really young, so he didn't remember them, meaning that Tsutako is the only person hed known as a parental figure his entire childhood, so he literally lost a parenta, figure and sister in the same day at the same time and in the same way 😔😔

My thoughts: Iguro didnt have those connections so his pain is different than tomioka who had them and then it was stolen thats a different kind of pain. These 2 pain should never be compared

Iguro is a character who barely had good times all the way until his death. He doesn't know what it's like to have everything and loose it. Meanwhile Tomioka had his sister and Sabito. He had joy and it was snatched from underneath him. It's two different kinds of pain with two different kinds of reactions to said pain 😕

Fun fact for everyone by someone with a special interest in Psych, just because one may have 'more trauma' than someone else, or just because they had more comfortability than them, doesn't give them the right to be a shitty person. On top of that, trauma cannot be compared, because everyone has different trauma, and everyone reacts to it differently. Trauma is still trauma even if it's not life-ending. Problems are still problems even if they aren't a threat to your life. People have their own emotions, and their own stories. Feelings aren't limited resources, they're unique to everyone, so if someone comes to you with a problem, or open up about their trauma, and you maybe had a typically 'worse' traumatic experience, PLEASE do not act like Iguro did in this. I know it's just a character, but I see it all the time in real life, and it's heart-breaking because those people have genuine issues that often get dismissed because it's not "Bad enough," or because the person they're opening up to had "worse trauma." Flat out, if your only excuse for not being able to sympathise with someone when you hear about their traumatic, or troubled past is "I had it worse than you" you need to SERIOUSLY evaluate your empathy, and how you see people and the world. I know, I know that it is just a character, but the reaction is actually not uncommonly seen in real life, and I've seen it SO often even amongst my friends! It's cruel, and something we, as a society, and as humans, seriously need to re-evaluate because we have become too comfortable with completely dismissing people's struggles solely because they're not considered 'bad enough.'
This is also where the high depression rates also start to come in as well. If people continually invalidate someone's feelings because they're not 'bad enough' or 'important enough,' those feelings will, VERY OFTEN, get worse. Many of the depression rates we are seeing is because people aren't take seriously because their problems are invalidated by others who claim they had it worse, and that they shouldn't be a cry baby over something so 'small'

Giyuu was had his happiness taken away from him twice. It left a very large effect on him. Yes, Iguro also has a very traumatic past, but even so, you can’t compare your trauma to others. You don’t know his emotions. You don’t know how he feels. It’s all in his mind. You can’t assume effects that their trauma causes. They both have terrible backstories that no one should ever have to experience, but you can’t compare the two. You can never compare trauma. *Absoulutely never*

I ACTUALLY LOVED THIS SM! you got straight to the point with the deaths, didnt spend an overbearing time on them and instead showed how happy Giyuu was. I also love how Iguro snapped, clearly showing implications to his own backstory. I also loved how all the hashiras, including shinobu and Sanemi are often mischaracterized as being heartless, showed genuine care towards a fellow hashira. Especially Sanemi after finding out the real reason why Giyuu said ‘He was different’ after all hid annoyance towards Giyuu stems from that. I thought this video was done very well!

His and Tsutakos parents died from illness when he was really young, so he didn't remember them, meaning that Tsutako is the only person hed known as a parental figure his entire childhood, so he literally lost a parenta, figure and sister in the same day at the same time and in the same way 😔😔

•This reaction is simply magnificent! in many cases, Giyuu was simply super anxious or somehow too depressive, in your video he kept a pretty good calm, as well as the well-developed emotions of each of the Hashira's. I liked the part with Iguro, and his childhood itself was not particularly bright and cheerful. But still, to say that "Obanai is poor with a difficult childhood and how closed he is" is... it's kind of exaggerated, yes, maybe it's true somewhere, but still, in the present tense, he's at least a little bit, but happy.

Fun fact for everyone by someone with a special interest in Psych, just because one may have 'more trauma' than someone else, or just because they had more comfortability than them, doesn't give them the right to be a shitty person. On top of that, trauma cannot be compared, because everyone has different trauma, and everyone reacts to it differently. Trauma is still trauma even if it's not life-ending. Problems are still problems even if they aren't a threat to your life. People have their own emotions, and their own stories. Feelings aren't limited resources, they're unique to everyone, so if someone comes to you with a problem, or open up about their trauma, and you maybe had a typically 'worse' traumatic experience, PLEASE do not act like Iguro did in this. I know it's just a character, but I see it all the time in real life, and it's heart-breaking because those people have genuine issues that often get dismissed because it's not "Bad enough," or because the person they're opening up to had "worse trauma." Flat out, if your only excuse for not being able to sympathise with someone when you hear about their traumatic, or troubled past is "I had it worse than you" you need to SERIOUSLY evaluate your empathy, and how you see people and the world. I know, I know that it is just a character, but the reaction is actually not uncommonly seen in real life, and I've seen it SO often even amongst my friends! It's cruel, and something we, as a society, and as humans, seriously need to re-evaluate because we have become too comfortable with completely dismissing people's struggles solely because they're not considered 'bad enough.'
This is also where the high depression rates also start to come in as well. If people continually invalidate someone's feelings because they're not 'bad enough' or 'important enough,' those feelings will, VERY OFTEN, get worse. Many of the depression rates we are seeing is because people aren't take seriously because their problems are invalidated by others who claim they had it worse, and that they shouldn't be a cry baby over something so 'small'

First of all, thank you for your nice comment, I do my best! As for a react video about the relationship between Obamitsu and Obamitsu, I can't do it without animation. Animation edits are more understandable than manga edits, so we have to wait for the scenes they spend together (at least most of them) to be animated.
