      Thank you, its good to be back travelling. Yep always seems to be a bit of a drama but what can you do, just have to work through them. Mudgee was beautiful, very hot and humid which it normally isn't, they have had loads of rain as well so the locals aren't even used to the humid weather. We loved it and will go back in the cooler months.

    Hello, We used to flat tow a Suzuki behind our motorhome. We used a spare key without the electric chip, in the ignition to unlock the steering while driving, and used the real key manually to turn the door lock to lock the door. The bonus with the no chip key in the ignition was that if you left the vehicle for a short time and left the key in the ignition, no one could break in and start the vehicle. Hope this is helpful.
    We love your videos, keep up the great work.

      thank you. We worked out the smash repairers had not fixed the lock properly to enable us to lock and unlock the door with the key. We have taken the car back and they fixed the problem. All good now.

    I give you one good advice with your Suzuki. You have to install stone guard. At least front cover and windscreen. Because you Suzuki will be sand blasted.😂😂😂

    HI, guys we own a Jayco conquest FA 25 2016, owned from new, have been flat towing a Suzuki Swift for 6yrs and never had any issues (but we have been caught 3times were had to disconnect it because as you probably know you can't reverse with the Suzie on the back).We have traveled all over Australia to the west x2, up the middle x3, across to Queensland x3,through nsw ,Victoria. I am sure that once you get the little issues sorted, you'll love traveling with the motorhome and the swift. 👌👍

      Your travels sound fantastic. I think the Swifty was a great choice to flat tow, its small but comfortable to drive and tows really well. We hope to do all the trips you guys have done. We are heading down to SA in May and then to the Flinders Rangers, on to Uluru from there. Should be a fabulous trip. Safe travels to you guys. Thanks for the message.

      Hello, We towed a suzi too, when you need to reverse we found that one of us would sit in the suzi, start the motor so the power steering works, and then we could reverse up by holding the suzi steering wheel to stop it from going into full lock.👌

      @@jjbee9229 yes that's correct we have used that method but only over a small distance 1-2m no more than that,we have been told that you can wreck your tow frame or worse flip the Suzuki over 👍👌

    Somehow I wasn’t being made aware of your updates? Think I fixed that issue. We rent Jayco Motorhomes in Australia and our current rental had that annoying squeak above the passengers head in the cabin. Told the rental company we wanted another one without the squeak was told they would just cancel our rental so we ended up taking it anyway. After four days of squeaking we fixed it! Touch base with us I’ll tell you what it was. Plus the other issues we have too. Like watching your wine tastings we are more of Chicken Parmi beer tasters stuck on the Stuart Highway at the moment.

      Hi guys, thanks for the message. How annoying is the squeak in the cabin. We initially had a tea towel pushed up the area. Jayco have now put some packing in there and it is better. How did you fix yours? Good idea renting the motorhomes. We never did that and probably should have to learn a thing or two first. lol. Happy travels.

      @@headsortailsmotorhometravels77 The squeak was a shim they left in there from manufacturing plant. It was a small block of wood that I knocked out with a hammer and screwdriver and the squeak was gone. There was no shim on the driver side. The rental company had other rigs with the same complaint I showed them what I found and the shim, said they would look into it.

    Our idea on having the motorhome was so that we didnt have to tow anything. The plan will be to hire a car in major areas when we are staying in an area for extended periods etc

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a good plan, we would have liked to hire a car in a few places before we had the tow car. Although we found it impossible to hire a car in Yeppoon, there are literally no hire car companies which we found very unusual. We even went to the Tourist Information Centre to try and find a way to get a hire car, but we would have to have gone to Rockhampton to pick it up.

    was obvious to see the benefits of towing the car but do you think you would have done the same tours if you were just driving the truck. Was it worth the extra cost and effort. Great vid thanks.

    • @headsortailsmotorhometravels77
      @headsortailsmotorhometravels77 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Hi, we definitely think we made the right choice with towing the car. Just in the first few days away with the car we were able to go to places that the MH would have been difficult to get to because of either winding dirt driveways or parking issues. When we head down the south coast of NSW in the next few weeks, we will park the MH for a week at each of the spots and drive the car up to national parks, walks, beaches etc. So in our view, yep definitely worth the money. Cheers.

      Jayco have put some packing in between the cab and habitat after peeling back the cover, this has helped somewhat. The squeak has moved from the drivers side to the passengers side now. Lol.
