Pirate's Cove in Sunset Cliffs. The tunnel use to finish at a house which still stands. The tunnel was sealed off and beyond the blockage, is the house wine cellar.
Sometimes is best to keep some places hidden. They either don’t hold a crowd well, or are kinda dangerous and get closed when unknowing tourists get hurt there.
True. Last time I was at that spot, I saw a smallish young man (a boy actually) squeezing out through a hole someone had dug out at the spot where the City of San Diego had closed off the tunnel to the top in the 1960s. That was an attempt to discourage spelunkers and mitigate liability. They also dumped boulders at one end, and sprayed a nasty cocktail of tar inside the south cave entrance that made exploration a non-starter for a few years, but someone must've come along and removed the tar or the tides washed it away.
Been here 14 years and never once heard it “Coles.” Maybe that’s just your unique way? I have heard an embarrassing amount of people say “Oh tay” mesa instead of “Oh tie”
Armando, San Diego is crowded enough. Let people discover these places without TH-cam promotion, making the places more crowded. Let's don't make Mexico City in San Diego.
I see your point. I’ve been here my whole life and it’s changed a lot for better and worse. I don’t know that I’ll be making these kinds of videos much longer. And the truly hidden stuff I’m not going to share either.
I learned of some new to me hikes. Very well presented.
Glad the video was helpful!
Agreed thanks
Great videos, I got started watching your video on SD now I’ve watched a bunch of them. Makes me homesick from Charlotte. Thanks again!
Thank you for watching! Glad to show a part of home!
great
Thanks!

There’s was an area in the cave that continued back much further than we were willing to go. That may have been it.
You can probably do a full vid on the Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge Hike.
Great suggestion!
Thanks for watching! What are your favorite outdoor adventures in San Diego?
I love hiking Palomar in the fall, when all the bugs are gone 😃

There is nothing hidden about these places. They are not obscure. These comments act like some big secret is being revealed. 😂
Check out Iron Mountain
Thanks for the suggestion!
Been there !!! Are you sure ?
Where?
Cowles is Coles mt. Everyone gets it wrong.
Oh interesting. Usually I pronounce things as I’ve heard them growing up here in SD.

@@magesalmanac6424 it’s the pronunciation, not the spelling
@@magesalmanac6424 I’ve been in San Diego for 40 years
A quick search will show you. Kohls.
