Fantastic!!! I too know the feeling of burning thighs, wobbly legs, the fear of "What did I just get myself into?", wondering how this is going to end, the elation of making the summit, and the realization that summiting means you're only halfway done! So glad you guys made it - thanks for taking us along - some of those feelings came right back! Another great adventure👍👍
Congratulations upon your summit of Tanima Peak by the more difficult approach. I would have reached it via Boulder Grand Pass - much easier. I love the views of Thunder Lake. Thunder Lake is like home to me, having camped there many times over the years. I love the Wild Basin area. Keep on hiking. I love watching your videos.
What a great trek! Such gorgeous scenery! I'm really enjoying your videos brother. I came back from Colorado and within a week caught covid. Still pretty weak. Can't wait for Autumn weather here in Missouri so that I can get out with the camera and drone to take some hike videos. Just bought a nice camera gimbal as well. I'm pumped. Great job to you and Chris!
What a memorable hike! Thank you for sharing your experience on the trail, as well as, the beautiful RMNP scenery & breathtaking views. Nice job capturing your trek! 👍
Epic hike indeed! I can picture being just below that ridge saying to you "hey Nick, we are hikers, not climbers!" :) Well done gentlemen! I have done a belly climb on an edge above Black Lake before where there was no going back... sketchy stuff!
Thanks Brian! It gets steep back there by Black Lake. I nearly got cliffed out trying to come down from Frozen in a snowstorm once. I jumped down to this one ledge and I almost couldn't get back up.
What a great trip report! We’ll done! Note to self: If you plan to climb Tanima Peak, do so by way of Boulder Grand Pass. I was at BG Pass and Lake of Many Winds in 1974 for a climb of Alice. There is no way you could descend the way you guys did. It was all steep snow well into summer. You had to go down a gully on the north side of the snowfield. I guess things were a little snowier back then. Also that looks like a real glacier on frozen Lake producing that color. Albeit a small one. Great adventure.
Yeah coming down the pass was nuts! There were people on the rocks to the north. That looks like a better way. I dont think a person could go up that sand to be honest. It was hard enough sliding down it. Would be impossible with a wall of snow!
Kudos to you for summiting and congratulations ... It looked "very" steep to say the least ... But I did learn something ... Which if you're going to climb Tanima Peak you do it from the west ridge not the east ridge ... Thanks for sharing ...
While on that last move I knocked the sunhood off my cam and watched it bounce down to the very edge. I held on and slowly reached over to get it. That added to the drama.. but yeah, west slope is the way!
That was CRAZY! I was holding my breath without realising! LOL What made you go up the east ridge when you could of gone up the west side? It was a great hike though!
@@ruggedland I just know in southern california (where I'm originally from) one would routinely hear about $10,000 bills sent to people that had to be helicoptered out of various places, but yeah, if it's some volunteers with a litter, it might be free!
What an accomplishment! Chris knows how to get low coming down those steep hills.
What an epic adventure, and those views!! 🤩

Nice work and holy sketchy on that one section! This was one hell of a hike with difficulty and length! Congrats!
When Nick says this was some of the sketchiest parts I've ever been on....and knowing all the other crazy places you've been...that means something!
i was definitely holding my breath watching this one. Thank goodness you had another route for your descent. Spectacular footage!
Top notch content thank you!
Thank you Corwin!

Awsome Nick finally that's a well deserved summit! Congrats my friend.
Thanks Joey!
I would be lying if I wasn't scared. Nice job guys!
Thanks Grant!
@@nicksangetta8874 I had to rewatch that portion where you said there is no way up, then the next clip is you bear hugging the rock for dear life
@@grantskidmore6921 I should have just recorded all that through there.. but it got crazy quick!
Always an adventure whenever Nick and Chris go out together. The difficulty of this hike/climb is way up there. Congrats on the summit
Thanks Jun! Chris has done some crazy hikes with me for sure.
Wow is right! Absolutely beautiful🏔How amazing the hike you two did! My legs where shaking just watching 😱Congrats making it up👍
Thank you Nature Dog Realms! My legs were a little shaky on those climbing moves. Glad I had good hand holds.
Thanks for this great video Nick. We were there in August. Some us summited Alice, some us didn’t. We all enjoyed being there nevertheless.
I love Mt Alice! But its such a tough mountain to summit. That whole area is awesome though! Glad to hear you had a good time.
@@nicksangetta8874 Congratulations on Tanima Peak. This is one of your best videos.

@@nicksangetta8874 Sounds like the same part that got me going up! I figured I'd take a "short cut" and go up. It was fun after it was over!

Where’d Chris get that head gear , Christmas is coming I need one.
His head scarf thing? Im not sure.. I will have to ask him.
@@nicksangetta8874 thanks , just let me know love your videos

Thanks Lauren! I wanted to go up the fun way. Plus it was shorter. Would have been another mile to go out to the pass.
You re lucky yup didn't get rain on the way up
We lucked out big time on the rain. It was all around us. Im glad we got down the Boulder-Grand Pass before the rain. That could have been bad..
Congratulations!! Too sketchy for me!!
Now all I hear is David Lee Roth singing, Tanima!! Tanimahahohoheyhey...
Haha! We had Journey and Metallica playing on this hike. I was occasionally air guitaring my hiking pole.
Just call a helicopter down
I think my biggest fear is having to be choppered out. I couldn't afford it. Id rather fall off the edge.
@@nicksangetta8874 when I signed up for InReach on my garmin, I got the search and rescue insurance added on (it was like $30/year)
I thought S&R is free service done by volunteers? Not that I ever want to use it, but the idea is don’t hesitate to call if one is truly in trouble
