This movie changed my life! My mom and aunt woke us up as children to watch on TV in the 60s. It won the Palm D'or at Cannes Film Festival and received both an Oscar & Golden Globe for Best Foreign/International Film. In 1960. I love the story, I love the music. Its not a true depiction of a favela in the late 50s but the Spirit of the Brasilian people who live in abject poverty was captured. I visited Favela Santa Marta in 1991. Thank you for including this classic on your list!

My mother introduced my siblings and I to the masterpiece, "Black Orpheus" in the 60's as we grew up in Bklyn, NY. I have resided in Florida for several decades now, this wonderful 💘 story, yet unfortunate death trap has been indelibly etched in our hearts forever!!!!

I was able to watch Santos FC and Fulminese playing at Maroccana in Rio de Janeiro in 2015. I think, it was Santos against Flamingo, when two goals were scored during the last 15 seconds... It was quite a historical moment... And I witnessed it.

Have You ever been to Maroccana Mr. Franklin? Have You been to Rio de Janeiro?.. If You were at Maroccana, what are Your most memorable recollections?
