    At least your impulse purchase gets you outside, exercising. As far as bad habits go, that one ain't too bad. Keep it up.

    Thank you. I just bought this pack and you made me much more solidly comfortable with making the right choice. Thanks again and keep on hitting the trails.

    I have an" old school"day pack made by Roots that has those features of the bean pack,It is ugly & heavy.I thought you were gonna pull out a Ti-cup & say"Crawdads for lunch today"! Nothing like gettin' yer' eggs fresh from the ranch,Especially if they have the double-yolkers! I think the "Y'all"just came natural for you,since you are displaying the ridge runner pack & yer' keepin' it 'Merican,On the trail! Cheers!

    This pack is a seriously underated pack.

      After months of use and knowing how I use my gear, I modified it by cutting off the wings and hip belt. I never use the hip belt and they just got in the way. I like the pack so much more now

      @@Dirttimechannel My only problem with this pack is that the material on the bottom of the pack is NOT as durable as I would like. That might save on weight, but for me should be a little thicker.

    My favorite day pack is the Osprey Talon 33, you’d like it. It has everything you mentioned, but it’s only about 1.5lbs. It also has a removable foam butt pad that serves as the frame. It’s a top loader though.

    • @Dirttimechannel
      @Dirttimechannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe, yeah I'm a huge fan of top loaders. I have the 2017 model of the osprey exos 38. It checks all the boxes.

      @@Dirttimechannel I just got my 15 year old son the 2020 Exos 55. But they got rid of the hip belt pockets! He won’t know the difference though. Better pack than I ever had at that age.

    • @Dirttimechannel

      I searched high and low for the 2017 model because of been hearing of all the complaints with the newer models. I finally found one brand new with tags and snatched it up

      Great pack, but I really dislike Osprey's color schemes.

    Christopher would have something to say about the Mora. I can hear a sarcastic comment. I like Mora's too. Can't beat em for the cost and they stay sharp. My favorite is a 1918 large bolo style that is great for hacking but heavy. The steel is easily sharpened though so I love it

    • @Dirttimechannel
      @Dirttimechannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Silkworm, you're right he would.
      That very Mora you saw in the pack is the very one I've used for over 20 years. It has a lot of miles on it and shows no sign of letting up. It truly is my favorite knife and has never let me down. If nothing else, that Mora has a soul and stories to tell.

      Ohhh yeah the great Mora debate. Many people have been triggered by this.

    I’ve owned the same backpack since 1976....0k the pack has been replaced once. It’s no longer in style since it’s a external frame but if you want to carry a load in comfort especially in hot weather it’s the best design.

    Love me some packs too! Ten is a good number, but if you find one more, for TH-cam purposes, that's OK too. :-)
    Awesome review. I like packs that cinch up tight and hug the back when they're not full. You could probably move pretty fast in that pack and it wouldn't move around too much. I love that color too.

    Good video. Just found ya. I live in Southern Indiana and we have loads of big catfish. Blue cats especially.
    I wish someone would show me how not to get stung removing them from the hook. I like to fish for panfish .

    Can a sleeping bag be carried up top on the exterior using those two main clips that connect the exterior compartment to the top of the bag?

    I would not like the lycra on the dump pouch. This looks like the perfect day pack. Does this pack crush down for storage?

    • @redoak3809
      @redoak3809 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had this pack for about 3 weeks and love it as a day pack. As you said... this pack is a good size for day hikes and it checks lots of boxes for me as well. It is funny how even though I like my awesome Fjallraven Kaipack, a couple of nameless Osprey packs, an Alice Pack, a Kelty Super Tioga, an LK35 (or two), I have turned to LL Bean for most of my packing pleasures. I have and love the larger LL Continental Pack (the one with the large side pockeets that has been discontinued (sad)) and the Ridge Runner for shorter day hikes.
