Today we got to visit Consuela up in Kentucky as she undergoes the process of removing NINE layers of paint. There was a TON of paint and bondo all over this thing... but now it's looking great!

I love that you are putting the OLD Venezuelan flag before the Chavez era with 7 stars. Crazy Chavez added an 8th one to represent the Province of Guayana. Venezuela continues to dispute half of current Guyana as their territory despite TWICE being denied by the international court in the Hague. To most of us older Venezuelan, it was just a political move to rally support for his 'Bolivarian revolution'. He's dead, but the movement he started continues to dominate the country's politics. Maybe one day not too far in the future we'll see democracy return to Venezuela.

I did work experience at an airfield as a high school student ~25 years ago and have a little bit of experience with that paint stripper - it it a gelatinous formulation that you paint on with a brush and leave to sit for about an hour and the paint turns to mush. We sprayed it off with a pressure cleaner (whilst wearing a full-body protective suit) and blew the airframe down with shop air and a couple of hot air blowers (like a leaf blower but with a big heating element so the air coming out was like 200 degrees celcius), then prepsol'd it immediately.
I still have a scar on my finger and my knee from touching the stripper, it starts burning IMMEDIATELY and it burns deep and fast. In the time it took for me to feel the pain, then run over to the emergency shower and rinse it off it had burned down far enough that I lost two layers of skin and got some of those lumpy bumpy scars.
dude cleetus i just wanted to say thank you. i was in a headon car crash on april 5 and broke my spine away from my pelvis and had to get 4in screws in my spine to hold my shit together. but i just wanted to say i love what you do. watching your channel helped me get through a month of bein bed ridin. i live north of pittsburgh pa so cant wait till im better cause im makin a road trip to the "factory freedom" LMAO! sry i loved that. hell yea brother!! keep on keepin on!

TH-cam Money is crazy. Wish I had started a channel when I was younger like so many others did. It's all about having a strong work ethic and never giving up. I'm too old to try it now. Cleetus is one hard-working dude. He has to be hardworking to be able to run a company like this. Behind the scenes is nothing but work. Proud of this man. Best automotive, aviation, RC plane, and Car content on the Tube. The guy brings it all for us.
Never too old too start a TH-cam there is billions of people on this planet a lot of people will be willing to watch what you do no matter how bad, I have over 1000 subs in a year and I only post once a month and im not the best speaker... but someone somewhere will enjoy what you do.
2:54 my son ran inside couple weeks ago saying he saw Heavy D chopper. I could hear it and could tell it was a UH60 but I told him “naw he lives on the other side of the country”. Well I can see the hill top portion I own in the video. So now I guess I have to tell my boy he was right.

Man thats wild! Ironically when i first saw Heavy Ds blackhawk (in videos) i thought to myself itd be cool to spot him flying someday, then i was like id never be able to tell with that blackout paint job short of using freely available ADSB tracking software and verifying the N number.

My Boy @Cleetus McFarland making big moves in every industry that we love so much with Air and Land and. I know he must be having something coming up soon on water upgrades with his and JackStands jet boats or would be awesome to see Cleetus competing in the boat trails with speed runs. It is really crazy how skilled Cleetus is when it comes to racing and boats and plane events he Already won. One thing I really respect about Garret as a leader is that he lets people do things their way. What I mean by that is that he pays respect to the experts that he's using and doesn't try to micro manage them from what I've seen. its how I've always operated in my business interactions and it works really well. great way to build a strong team that's confident and can make decisions independently.

Old airframes collect paint like we used to collect stickers back in the 90's. There's a heliport near my brother's farm, it's half local work, half medical for the region, but they also have a great facility to work and repair helis. The local record is 14 layers of paint, with the airframe having never been stripped since the early 80's. Just kept on pilling paint on until it started popping one day and the owner had it. Local heli, used to spray stuff with, badly corroded on the bottom area. When i was a kid, that heli lost a skid once, found it the neighbor's field and the pilot had to land on an empty barrel, half and half. It is what it is with some owners who don't do it right or are trying to shoestring their repairs. Which... ultimately hurts the thing, i mean, that's kilos otherwise used in a different place.

I think my favorite part about Cleetus Aviation is how safe he is about it. We know he's "safe" with the car stuff, but seeing him actual full tilt serious about something is cool.

You can literally see the Transition from the character Cleetus, to pilot Mitchell the second he sits behind the controls of an aircraft. One of those dudes is way less reckless than the other one.
I truly hope to the infinite that is true, Garrett better be ice cold in a plane or helicopter. The danger factor in rotary aircraft is stupid high. Stupid.
@@pmiller7886he is ice cold bro, he can fly anything from a heli- a twin engine turbo prop airplane with passengers. He also has spent a lot of time learning auto rotation landings etc with helis so he’s in a much better position as far as safety etc then the standard heli pilot.

I appreciate Garretts appreciation for what he has, and what he built. Too often we see youtubers and other social media folks get money and they are not the same as they were in the past. Glad he was raised well, and has a good head on his shoulders

Slight correction, you were in South Carolina when stopping at Donaldson. Fun fact, Lockheed and General Electric have facilities there where C-130's & P-3 Orions have maintenance and refits done as well as a small F-16 production line.

The fact that they’re even going with a factory style sealer shows you a lot. Plus they’re sealing it before repairs, these guys could paint anything of mine anyday. Being in the industry and having been through so many sketchy shops in my career I can say already with 100% confidence these guys are overachievers which as a painter, is what you want when you’re a customer looking for a shop trying to do you right.
I think it’s pretty cool that you and Heavy D come to my home town ( Lexington Ky. ) for all your helicopter stuff. Would be really cool to meet you guys one day.

What we used to do when I was working on MH-6's where the seat belt the fuselage was Glued a rubber pad to protect the skin.
