It's a long story, and it's been a while since I watched the episodes. But basically, before Kevin came out, he got into a fight with Aaron (a friend who he secretly had a crush on). He ending up pushing Aaron from a height, but didn't get the chance to check if he was okay before his father showed up and got Kevin away. Nora stayed with Aaron, and had assured Kevin that he was fine. But Aaron had actually suffered a severe injury, leaving him paralysed. When Kevin found out the truth (in the episode before this one), he was appalled by his actions and the fact that Nora had kept this a secret for 20 years. He then went to apologise to Aaron, who helped him make peace with it all. So, in this scene, Kevin returns to talk to Nora. Hope that makes sense!

I watched a few episodes when they aired on TV, and I have been watching the clips posted on TH-cam, however those focus on Kevin and Scotty. So I am missing a lot of information. I would like to watch the whole series, from beginning to end. The acting in this series is really good.
