I got the demo just a week ago and and went all in on poison when I realised how effective it was, but after the update the other day, and they changed the starting items and changed quite a bit of stuff in cost etc, so it's not as straightforward as it was, but poison is still most fun in my opinion. ^^

Yeah, this guide is out of date now thanks to the devs being really fast at releasing patches (which is great)! I'll probably update it soon, but honestly the poison strategy needed a nerf.

I completely agree! I remember battling someone who had a ridiculous poison build that, more or less, killed me instantly. I even had to take a pic of it just because of that. xD
It's definitely going to be interesting to see what one can do when it's more balanced in general with time. ^^

I hope they add some sort of upgrade recipe tooltip type info to the game at some point. I've had a lot of success with the broom+mana orb staff and just stacking tons of mana generation, the staff can hit like a truck after a few activations.

Yeah, it would be nice if it was easier - I also wish the available combination highlight was better, that line is so subtle I often miss it. You can see recipe info by clicking the anvil in the lower right, but it only shows ones you've already discovered, and I think doesn't have the actual stats of the items displayed, so it could really be improved

Obligatory "here's what you should have done":
Put the Fanny pack on the inside, against the coffin, and the larger bags on the outside, so you have more options for to just poke the ends of two things into it, instead of just one item taking both slots.
Clearly wasn't necessary to win though!

Yeah that's definitely correct! One of my weakest points in this game is just not wanting to move bags around because it takes a long time and I am very lazy
