OMG IM SO HAPPY YOU’RE STARTING PJO!! It definitely has the middle school feel, but the characters will definitely grow on you throughout the series. Percy and Annabeth also have such a good slow burn too by the end of the series

If you end up enjoying Percy Jackson, I highly recommend the Magnus Chase series! Same author but based in Norse mythology instead! I was obsessed when I first read it and it just doesn't get enough attention

And speaking of middle-grade...did you ever read the Warriors series? They're all about cats and their rivalries and drama. I think you'd like them! There are like 10,000 books out now but the first series of 6 starting with Into the Wild is so good.
