Great video and very full review. I'm still learning my Munsters Pro, but I love how exacting you have be with ball and flipper positioning to hit the ramps instead of the 4 Grandpa targets.
New Munsters code 1.10 (released 12/25/21) almost makes it a brand new game. New code introduces new modes (chattering teeth), changes the way grandpa works (now stacks with other modes), and added a bunch of new callouts and animations. New review?
So do you guys have any of the older Williams/Bally machines? I grew up with Whirlwind, Medieval Madness, and Tales of The Arabian Nights. I'd love to see reviews of those!
I don't know.....BUT, if you were distributing my pinball machines and for some reason I didn't like your review, you wouldn't be distributing my machines long. Just saying it could be a conflict for his business. Who knows?
@@EquipmentReviewer Plus, on the other hand, that could potentially lead to conflict of interest and obvious bias in the review - not saying that Zach would ever do that, but I’m just saying in general.
I think you've come up with a good new system to get around the issue of being a dealer, but I'll miss the old format. I always enjoyed how brutal Zach can be.
@@SDTM haha, that's good. I wrote that before I saw the whole video and I'm getting a good laugh watching you try and not always succeed at holding back your 2 cents on these reviews. It's not too much different from your normal reviews, so I'm enjoying it:)
Anybody can make a burger............. McDonald's has sold trillions of burgers.......the reason why is because of the secret sauce. Your channel also has secret sauce, so to speak. Zach and Greg going back and forth over reviews is yours. I personally don't care if Zach sell pinball machines or not. Don't screw up the sauce! Zach can't just sit there and not let go man.......it just don't work. Don't eff up the show!!
I agree totally with equipment! Sounds like Zach might get a little secret sauce from Stern, JJP, or whoever if he gives a bad review. Conflict of interest is what it boils down to.
@@routhfineart2116 Bahahahaha 😂 you might be right. But I just think them two going back and forth and being brutally honest about a pin is what makes it kick ass.
@@lordhelmet3000 Easy now......All I'm saying is they need to keep the show dynamic the same. I don't care about other reviewers. If I did I would just watch there channel. I don't even know who the hell they are talking about.
I've been eager to see this review. Especially with it being Greg's first NIB machine. Also, strangely enough, I just today discovered Cary's channel. Funny coincidence.
I would have to agree. Show is better with both of you doing the review. I think as long as people know you sell them its okay. Great job on editing ! I bet its a lot of work but it really makes a difference and your work is appreciated.
Another great episode, I like the new weighted scores, I would have like to add side categories that do not add to the total score but just as a side note, one would be build quality and the other value. I mean these are both legit issues as a home buyer we all consider.....so you can score them but not add them in for the final score......anyway, good work gents, maybe one day I will catch you guys at a show and buy you two a drink.
Great job as always, Thank you! Was VERY interested in this review as I have an LE inbound. Awaiting the Pre/LE review... Would like to know what your thoughts how this stacks up against MBrLE...
John Fabian I can tell you this, both are among the best looking and best shooting machines made! MBRLE gets the edge for nostalgia, Munsters gets the edge for strategy and code. (Zach)
Now that I've finished the video...I'm a fan of this pin. A main reason is because the game is approachable for new players. The shots are fun, it is fairly easy and straightforward to get Herman multiball running, it has that classic horror/comedy theme that works so well for pinball, and it is just beautiful to look at. I'm a player that always tries to encourage new people to play. The Munsters makes new players feel good about making some objectives and offers a great replay value for them BECAUSE they were able to attain them. As the player experience goes up you start to notice the subtle nuances in the code that can make for higher scoring opportunity. This machine has something to offer all skill levels, which is really what growing the love of pinball is all about.
Great video as always! I'm finally going to play this game today. The majority of people I've talked to don't like the game. Most everyone brings up the lack of code, so it was nice to hear you go over the code. I think the game is one of the most beautiful games stern has ever made! I'm looking forward to putting time on it!
I have had my Munsters for several weeks now to me the issue with the Code is that there is only one way to play this game to get points. That is saving your super jackpots and then collecting them. That makes for a boring game IMO at this point in time I am not a fan of the code in its current state, I would like to be able to play out some modes for mode points not for jackpots. I just don't enjoy playing the modes in this game right now, hopefully something will change with it as the code matures. IMO there is no complexity to the code, you save your Jackpots then collect them that's it. I would rate the code at C or C- right now.
Chad I can agree. It’s missing rewards as you play! And I hadn’t thought about how it forces you into this linear gameplay till you mentioned it. I’m still trying to nail down what’s hindering me from really liking it and this is some of it for sure. (Greg)
@@SDTM Other than the code I think it is a really good pin. Art is good, Sounds are good, Display is good, Playfield layout is pretty good and most of the shots are fun but I find myself kind of tired of it already because of the code. I hope the code gets some major love soonish.
Hi Zach and Greg. I really like your approach with reviews in your situation of being a retailer. Really nice! And I like that we still get your opinion, Zach (you just can’t shut up) 😜👍🏼 Thanks for your great show, still!
Disappointing to hear you both won't be doing reviews, as I think you were a good balance between you and had good discussions. Surely it will not affect Zach to review, it's just a personal opinion. Still enjoyed the video and happy to hear more on Munsters
+1 if you watched 'til the very end! Thanks for adding me to the team! Content is in the works! A new requirement for your future videos is that Greg needs to be intoxicated. lol. Looking classy with the wine!
Sweet pen Zach! Lol.. and Welcome to the SDTM team Cary.. Is Carys channel still going to provide content or will it all be here? I already subscribe to both.
great video guys, introducing new people... i still lov watching your channel.... p.s 8 people gave a thumbs down, they dont play pinball and are not about that life..lol 🙌
The art is phenomenal, no doubt about it. The layout. Mehh... way too early to see on code but man, I played it once on location and didn't feel compelled to throw in another .75 at all... also, the audio is going to get old really fast. Also, it felt super cheap.. not sure if the build quality is different on this title but it felt extra janky for lack of a better term. Nice review!
Karl Lind Films I had the same feeling the first few games! Mine does feel more solid then a few other titles that have came out recently. It took a while to grow on me. (Greg)
Great show as always guys. Thanks for asking me to give my opinion on Munsters. I think it says a lot about Zach's integrity when he refuses to review a game that he is selling to avoid a conflict of interest. The upside of the quality of pinball machines being made now is they require a ridiculous amount of detailed scrutiny to find negatives compared to just a short while ago.
There was one of these on location which is rare here. I beat the snot out of the game quickly and it felt bare and cheap. Art was wonderful. Seems like a great tournament game but not a home game
OMG, lauding a spinner on a pro....FFS, where has this hobby gone? Fully loaded Sterns were $3500 through 2008. Newbs are totally impressed with spinners on Pros. Wow.
Love your shows and channel and everything you both bring to the hobby! You may rub people the wrong way using the word "uppity" in your episodes. It is worth googling the word and seeing why.. someone has been fired from the company I work at for using that word..
I like the idea of Spot, and the right ramp flip up style. The premium adds the lower playfield which is very different to me, but I'm not sure it will be as fun as it looks. I agree with Greg. Call-outs are important. Ghostbusters has Ernie Hudson doing a fantastic job with the call-outs and they are one of my favorite parts of playing GB.
