I haven't seen this since it originally aired. What a trip. I swear, you are the progenitor of so much of the content that TH-cam was built on. You're a legend, I think I'll go to Subway and order a sandwich now, with all the fixins.
All of these years later. I was so excited for this to air!! I remember talking about it for at least a week waiting! Always kicked myself for not recording it. Things were different back then with VCR and VHS lol. Can't wait to show this to my kids this evening and share a wonderful part of my childhood. Thanks Tom! You truly make this world a better place. Much love from a longtime fan!
Rewatching these as an adult reminds me that Tom truly introduced this straight faced prank humor. What I laugh at now is directly related to what Tom taught me to laugh at in my youth.
A agree but I’m the opposite. I can watch this and enjoy it now because of the culture I’ve absorbed since my teens but it’s not funny to me like it was then.
Johnny Knoxville isn't particularly funny and he sort of just got famous from being the most organized one in a group of lunatics who would do anything for attention. Tom is utterly hilarious and honestly somewhat of a genius. He was very much ahead of his time with almost everything he did.
I remember this watching this after 8th grade classes ended. My friends really didn't understand the humor but I instantly understood it. Deadpan humor and weird awkward communication leads to funny times. Amazing
Found this on Amazon when I was a kid all I need to know to get me to buy the dvd mix of Tom green and Japan the whole thing was supremely surprising was one most memorable dvd movies I ever watched this was other time tom was ahead of his time
Some of the best memories were watching the Tom Green Show as a 90's kid. Would be hard to explain today how fun those times were. Also, thanks for the wedding photo in Neenah, WI that one time some years ago Tom lol. You're awesome man.
Damn I have been quoting the "Yes sir!" to myself a lot in the past week, funny this was uploaded now. "Choose one making you better feeling!" is a favorite among my friends.
Love this one, the buying used panties is pretty hilarious. Sorry Tom I missed your show when you came out to Vietnam a few years ago. I'm American but been living here for 5 years. Your "live with dignity" song and video in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam is amazing too.
Loved Tom when I was a teenager and am rediscovering not only this stuff, but his van and home videos. His laughs bring me joy, especially on rougher days. I also really admire that he puts no limits on his creativity. Tom, thanks for the laughs and inspiration!
This brings back memories. I stayed up all night watching tapes I made of your show in high school. My mormon friends with very strict parents would ask me to record you on VHS so they could watch you and I'd bring it to them at school. Good times.
My god this takes me back to my teen years.... summer holidays, getting stoned and watching Subway Monkey Hour with friends. No responsibility, no Rona bullshit... just laughing every day. Good times. Thanks for the laughs Tom.
I can't even watch the first 5 minutes. Tom, you're literally the funniest person ever. How you managed to get away with all this shit I will never know. Japan is pretty conservative so I'm surprised you didn't get arrested there.... ha ha ha
It's actually very hard to get arrested in Japan. They're quite nice unless you seriously break the law. My girlfriend and I were out drinking once, and went up a stairwell next to the bar to the top of a building and had sex. When we came down, they'd locked the gate on the stairwell (pretty common practice). Our friends still at the bar were there feeding us food and drinks. Eventually the police were called, and they tried to help us get out, but dissuaded us from looking for keys hidden around... We found two. They weren't the gate key, though. Super-drunk Australian friend talked to them in Japanese asking them if she could wear their uniforms. They politely dusted her off. My girlfriend was pissed off and demanded they get us out, and they chewed her out because hey, we'd been irresponsible by fucking and getting locked in the stairwell. After surveying options to make a two-story leap while drunk, after everyone had gone home, we gave up and eventually just slept in the stairwell together, keeping one another barely warm with body heat. At 6AM one of the owners of the shops in the stairwell opened the gate. He was a BIT surprised to see us emerging. Was a pretty shitty night but even while it was happening, I knew I'd never forget it, so I chalked it up to a win overall. And the Japanese police, while semi-incompetent and not able to help much, still framed themselves as servants of the people. Something US cops might learn from.
Dude I bought this on DVD years aggo and I literally watch this once a year. When the guy stumbles on the stairs and you starting yelling through your loudspeaker "HE FELL ON HIS BUM BUM" is my personal favourite
I've forced countless friends throughout the years to watch this with me. The ones who've stuck around laughed as hard as i did. Tom is undoubtedly the GOAT
I miss this.. still one of the most funny videos ever to me. To this day I refer to this when people ask me what I find the most funny humor. Miss you Tom in these times of scripted videos..
I miss this kind of comedy everyday, this is what gave me my sense of humor. I've been called weird , but i wear my weird sense of humor as a badge of honor. miss you Tom
This comedy is ageless. I'm still laughing my ass off as a grown man.
lmao @ that avatar/username

You aren't fully grown dear. Your manhood got left behind and lost in your infancy. True story.
@@notinterested8452 Why are you watching Tom's comedy if you don't find him funny?
@@FoodDipFan T'was a circumsision joke. Ya even suck at being edgy.
@@notinterested8452 you are a bum bum

Green influenced alot of comedy you see today.
Our fact checkers found that you are correct!
This is so true.
I actually never saw this before. But I needed to see it in 2022. We all need to see this.
The art of dragging the joke out long past being funny into it now just being awkward somehow making it funny again. Classic Tom Green
First it’s funny…and then it’s not funny…and then it’s anger…and THEN, it’s funny again, to the tenth degree
I still have this DVD.. it sustained me in my 20s. Thank you Tom Green!
I still got this on VHS. :)
All of these years later. I was so excited for this to air!! I remember talking about it for at least a week waiting! Always kicked myself for not recording it. Things were different back then with VCR and VHS lol.

I recorded it on vhs :)
Oh the memories. Guy falling down the stairs always got me.

Tom thank you so much for posting this! You are one of the greatest people that ever lived. I need this right now hahaha thank you!

I fucking died when he was slurping noodles like a madman.

This is one of my favorites. Wish you could do this again cause this made me laugh so much 😂😂 thanks!
Oh hahhahah hahahaha haa he fell on his bum bum
He was back there with Andy milanakis a few years ago, I’m sure there is some footage around
Easily better than most TV programming now (especially on MTV). Great times Tom!
I can’t remember if I originally watched this on Comedy Central or mtv but they used to show stuff that was actually funny then
Whats funny is this was a MTV exclusive 😂
i don’t think i’ve laughed so hard since this originally aired
Often replicated, but no one can top this freak. Love you TomGreen! 💞💞💞💞
This is still one of my favourites. At one point I peed my pants watching this (YEARS ago, OK!).
Johnny Knoxville has to realise that he's actually standing on Tom's shoulders.
Johnny Knoxville isn't particularly funny and he sort of just got famous from being the most organized one in a group of lunatics who would do anything for attention. Tom is utterly hilarious and honestly somewhat of a genius. He was very much ahead of his time with almost everything he did.
Always been my favorite Tom Green material. Glad it is now easily accessible to watch in full!
20 years leater, still just as awesome as when it came out. You are comic genius sir.
This makes me feel old.
But makes me feel good knowing I was able to experience this great youthful pleasant troll!

Man, this makes me remember how to feel young again. It also makes me feel old, but let's focus on the positives. Love ya, Tom!

I used to have this on DVD. Great special. More classic stuff please and more new stuff.
NO WAY IT'S THE TOM GREEN FOOTAGE FROM JAPAN!!!
As soon as I saw I never clicked so fast.
When in unfamiliar territory, the wild Tom Green will often exude a cloud of Confusion to any nearby animals as a defense mechanism.
Thanks for sharing Tom! First saw this at an impressionable 16 years of age. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago.
