    Was looking for a way to make ring holders for the jewelry boxes I make in my woodworking shop. This method seems to be the easiest and still very attractive and adaptable. Thanks for the help.

    How perfect! I have an old jewelery box my brothers gave me when I was a kid and no real way to display my rings. This way I can make my own insert in the box. Thank you so much!

    I make mine out of the foam hair curlers and glue felt onto them. They have a great memory for holding their shape and are cheap at about $3 for 6 and I can make 18 ring rolls out of a pack od 6 using one piece of 200 x 300 mm felt. To stiffen them up, if needed, you can insert a 3mm timber dowel into the hole of the hair curler but I find once you have applied the felt and placed them into the compartment of the jewelery box, as a tight fit, they are quite firm and hold rings and cufflinks very well :)

      @@karenalexander2446 If I could post a piccie I would. Simple and very fast to do. Plus a whole lot cheaper than using a lot of felt to make them. :)

    nice work. u can also use old clothes instead to make each roll bulk and then use only a enough "expensive" fabric (velvet for example) to cover each roll.

    Felt is kinda spendy, is there another fabric I could use instead? Maybe a flannel sheet?

    can they be rolled the other way for a longer orientation? trying to make one in a small vanity drawer.

    • @FactoryDirectCraft
      @FactoryDirectCraft  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Of course! Either way will work if you have the felt sheets that are wide enough!

  • @erinlee7670
    @erinlee7670 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does it have to be felt or could it be something else?

    • @FactoryDirectCraft
      @FactoryDirectCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could definitely use any material, as long as it's thick enough to hold its shape and squeeze the rings when they're in it!

  • @erinlee7670
    @erinlee7670 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does this do well hanging on the wall?

    • @FactoryDirectCraft
      @FactoryDirectCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could certainly hang it on the wall! I'd just make sure that there is enough tension on the rings to ensure a tight hold. The last thing you want is to have them falling out!

    Can i use needle pin felt sheet?

    • @FactoryDirectCraft
      @FactoryDirectCraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thicker needle pin felt should work fine, it just may require less rolling!
