Talking about sugar addiction. I never had a sweet tooth until I stopped drinking over six years ago. I have decided to give up sugar. not as easy as you would think. it is harder than stopping the drinking. lol.
Tell me about it. I had my first whisky in 3 years when I got home from catching that big boar last week. Just one shot and then a second. I stopped there and felt that old feeling.
Hi again, we as humans are pretty weak when it comes to temptations whatever that may be mate. Think most of can relate to what your talking about. Our minds a powerful tool if we actually use it in the right way but generally it takes a big shock to get to that stage sadly. The way the world is going just makes it worse for the generations below us to, everything is designed now to make life easy which isn't what our bodies were made for. Push it constantly to get the rewards of positive energy it's a great feeling in whatever way you use it. Go hard, stand tall and be proud, it's never to late to change shit.
I saw a quote "97% of scientists agree with their sponsors!", but the best quote I know of was told me by my grandfather, "Most of the lies they tell you aren't true!" Have a great day 👍 🤪
Totally understand everything you said i drink every night and I have lots of reasons for it i do want to stop I think the only way I will stop is if something medically happens to me just what I think 👍🏻🏴
I use to drink whisky every night bro. When I was performing as an entertainer in Germany if I was exhausted after all the nights and had a show to do I would snort coke or speed so I could function at a high level. When I came back to NZ 13 years later with 3159 shows under my belt I was cooked. I delaloped so many addictions. I had to almost die to get clean. Many of my mates who desided to carry on are all dead now or close to it. I have lost so many people.
Evening clay great topic buddy just thinking what to add to that I can say the one about smoking i was lucky I couldn’t stand the smell off cigarettes 🚬 so not smoking was not a problem for me I grew up with my mother smoking and friends and my siblings but not me . I remember this old guy at work he was retiring soon he was 65 I was only about 30 then and said to him you know you should give up siggers they’ll kill you and he said exactly what you said you’ve got to dye off something anyway I think it was a couple of months after he retired he had passed away suddenly with lung cancer. So yeah everything you’re saying is true it’s just the way people are I’m also one I’ve lived healthy and also non healthy but when we get to our age now clay and look back to what we did and to what we do now and to be grateful to have made it . Thanks for sharing that clay I never really thought about it much. All the best buddy much appreciated always wise words of wisdom. 🤠Colin 🙏☕️☕️🎣🚶♂️➡️🚣♀️🏊♂️🕺🤩🫶
@@thebrocheckclub1777 Hey clay just remembered maybe i think I was maybe 8 or 9 not sure but I remember when mum threw one of her smoke buts out and I ran and grabbed it and had a puff on it and I was coughing my lungs up and i think from then on I never gave them another thought. Cheers 🥃 buddy
I'm addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. I'm not an alcoholic but i binge drink every 2 or 3 days. Coffee an a ciggy is my brekky most days. I hate this lifestyle and it does effect my everyday life including my wife and 3 kids. i love them with all i have inside me yet i cant beat the addiction. i thought i could because i love my family so much more yet it eats away at me. I know there must be a way but im still searching. been researching about god and i love how much people truly love god but its hard to convince myself. Time will tell... Love your honest videos Clay, they mean so much to me.
I know just how it is br0. I have been there. The booze and cigarettes are not the problem. The problem is not being comfortable in your own natural state and the solution is learning how to be.
I gave up smoking back in 2001. I think a 50g went up to about 17 or 18 dollars, and i thought that is to expensive and rung quit line and got the proscription for the patches. I kept telling myself " I'm not going to die if i don't have a smoke" .
Clay all those food addiction items you highlighted are full of fat. Can you explain on your own steam why sugar is bad? I just want to see where your head is at.
Sugar is not bad when it is in its natural state in veg, fruit and complex carbs. Its when it is refined or added to stuff. That is what spikes the hormone insulin causing havock.
@thebrocheckclub1777 but Clay insulin is needed to allow the glycogen produced from the sugars/carbs to enter into the muscle cells to fuel them. Think of insulin as a key to a door but lets say we go to put that key in the lock but it wont fit because its clogged with fat (dietary fat) Now we have a problem, the muscle cant receive the glycogen and all of that insulin is now trapped in the bloodstream and now because the body still senses the uprise of the blood suger level it pumps in even more insulin in. Its that compounding effect that causes all the havoc. Insulin is a very powerful hormone, its anabolic and observed amongst bodybuilders to help with weight gain. I hope this information helps you understand insulin or maybe even give you a reason to dig abit deeper on it. I had to turn off all my bias thinking and thought over the years to get to the bottom of some big questions. And again like a cracked record I have been plant based high carb low fat diet close to 9 years and wouldn't have it any other way mate. By the way the snakes you mentioned are awesome especially the gelatin free ones 👊
I am not quite sure what you are trying to explain Shane? I fully understand the mechanism. What I am saying is refined carbs and straight sugar, ie sugary drinks, white rice, white bread, candy create a spike in inulin. It creates extra stress on the pancreas to produce a lot of insulin which in time make us become insulin resistant and eventually either pre diabetic or diabetic. Plant based, high complex carb is the ultimate diet for a long disease free life from all the science I have read so you sir are on track. Wish I had started in my 20s.
@thebrocheckclub1777 hey Clay I'm glad you know the basic mechanism but you just have to take one step back and look at the causation of the insulin spike. Insulin spikes are caused by excessive consumption of animal fat and plant oils which unfortunately are in alot of the food people consume today. So.. To much fat results in low insulin sensitivity making the pancreas work overtime thus being the causation. A very low fat diet is the complete opposite affect, an individual will experience high insulin sensitivity meaning the pancreas isn't even breaking a sweat. At the end of the day Sucrose Fructose Glucose are all the same thing no matter what concentration they are condensed into. You maybe interested in reading the study Dr John Mcdougall conducted in increasing insulin sensitivity using white rice and suger. I think the great wall of China is a by-product from the over consumption of white rice 😂 I think the nations that appear to have the happiest people/children included are the ones eating predominantly carbohydrate diets. I also find it quite intriguing that the creation of insulin in the human body has only one sole function and that is allowing glucose into our cells. This alone gives a huge hint on what we should be eating.
