Listening to this Marine tell of his service is like none other we’ve ever heard. We had the Honor & Privilege of meeting him when he was in Clinton, Ohio for the M.O.H. Monument Dedication at The Veterans Memorial Park. He was 94 years old at the time & was as articulate & sharp as could be. He was very well spoken & truly will never be forgotten by all that has been in his presence.
That’s amazing, I’m glad you got to meet him. I’ve met some WW2 vets before and they had some interesting stories to share, very sharp men, and very humbled about their service. My time in the service feels like nothing compared to theirs. I stand on the shoulders of giants. I understand having celebrities you like and would love to meet, but i think our country is too obsessed with celebrity nobodies. There’s some crazy people out there, and not just veterans, Ben Carson for instance is an amazing neurosurgeon. Feels like we don’t celebrate and honor people who serve our country and communities.
Every WW2 Marine I've ever met was a humble man that I was proud to have met.
Woody is right, only a heart beat and a choice of the man shooting the rifle or firing the mortar decides.... Woody happened to survive to tell their story. God bless you sir!
I wasn't in the Marines but I spent 21 years in the Army and also happen to be from West Virginia and I've met Woody a bunch of times. I love the man to death.
Johnny Chaos Yes Sir, he is an amazing man. I had the privilege & honor to drive him around several years ago when he came to the Veterans Memorial Park in Clinton, Ohio. He was there for the dedication of the Medal of Honor Memorial at the Park. He was 94 years old at the time. To say he was very articulate & alert for a guy his age would be an understatement! It was truly an honor to be there for him & to make his acquaintance. Woody has been back several times since then to attend The Patriot Project Black Tie Event in Canton, Ohio and its alway great to see him again! Good Day to You!

I’m also from WV, never went into any service but I’m proud obviously of all our state medal recipients from those wearing the CMOH to a Purple Heart to a CAR all heroes in my book

As a Canadian I am always impressed with the medal of honour recipients! I watch a lot of these videos and almost all credit the people with them and don’t try to take the credit themselves! Very respectful!🇨🇦👍

Air Chief Marshal “Bomber” Harris of the RAF always insisted on informing any of his crews who had been awarded the Victoria Cross himself. He made a comment, “ l have met many people who thought they should have received the VC, I have never met a man awarded a VC who thought he should have it” He was always struck how humble they where, some nearly embarrassed.
In my eyes the people who I have seen in various media who have been awarded the CMOH are of the same ilk.
Respect from me to all CMOH and VC awardees.

I know I have been hear and watching a real Hero along with the men and women that served in World War II. I am alive to day at 65 and also a 6 year veteran of the US air Force because of these Heroes. Not many are left alive, but rest assured this veteran will remember all of them till the day God calls me home. I will expect to meet many of them in heaven praising our Lord Jesus!!
