His this the original Nuno Bettencourt arrengement? Sounds a lot like him... Rihanna its not my thing but at the time I checked a few lives shows just to see Nuno playing he´s so damn good, super skilled guitar player. Love the cover by the way, really nice job.

Go to a local music store and see if they will let you try out some things. Guitar Center is trash, but you can at least try some equipment out. I hear some reverb/delay, but keep in mind tone comes from the fingers, he's making excellent use of his tremelo bar, and if you want this kind of tone you will HAVE to use the neck pickup. Gives it the boldness. Follow your own tone, but somebting like this isn't very hard to achieve. Good Amp, decent guitar, and talent.
