As a third-year Biomed student at uni Melb, I can say that every word you said is so accurate... I have always thought that I was the only one who felt this way but now that I have watched this I feel heard... Biomed is really a SELF-GROWTH journey... you learn alot about yourself and what is best for you... During my second year, I thought about quitting alot but finally, now I have come to terms with myself that it is what it is, I am not giving up until I reach the end because I only know how much I wish to be in the place I am in today. Biomed truly makes you know your strength. So Yh in a couple of days I will be starting 3rd year with so much hope and optimism that this year will be the best of all.
Good luck!! 2 months passed (sorry for the late reply), but hope everything is going well and hope the world is on your side 🫶🏻 Biomed is tough, but you walk out of it being stronger and becoming more resilient in whatever you’re doing! Never give up, the light is waiting for you on the end of the tunnel 😚
Hi! I am joining next year in september 2025 I'm excited but a bit nervous because I will work 20 / hours per week while staying with a friend of mine in the same apartment. I stress about working part time and studying biomed bc I will do the same with medical school as well. Thank you for this video :)))!
Hi!!! I really love your videos and it’s great to see your journey over the years 😊. I’m also going to apply for unimelb med. may I please ask ur combo score for unimelb? Keep up the amazing videos tho!! 🎉
Hi! Sorry for the late reply :c But thanks for leaving a comment! I'm not too sure how to calculate my combo score, but my gamsat was 70 and gpa was around 6.9! Hope this helps :D
Hey! Second year biomed student here at unimelb. You mentioned applying for honours. Could you please share a link or something that describes the process of getting into honours? I’m so lost with the application process and how to find studies. Would appreciate the help!!
Will be uploading a Q&A video for it soon! I’ll be uploading in 2 weeks (due to gamsat sitting) 🫣 Please DM me your questions on instagram (@raydayokayy) and will def answer them on my videos! (I will 100% post it way before honours applications are due)
Hi, I am currently a student who will attending biomedicine for classes of July 2022. Can you please give me some tutorial video or guidance to choose correct subject and classes? Because when I open the course planner website, the subject option is so broad and it's pretty confusing. I'm afraid that I chose a wrong subject cuz I'm planning to continue study for MD thank you
Hey, could you tell me what is the difference between Bachelor of Biomedicine and Bachelor of Biomedical Science? For instance, La Trobe University has the both courses and I can't see how they differ. Which of them could be a better choice if I want to study medicine/dentistry in the future?
Hey sorry about the late reply! So I’m pretty sure that science has broader options for future master studies (I’m pretty sure doctor of veterinary medicine can only be done after science? - Please double check with this though) Also despite learning similar things biomed is very rushed. (What science students learn in 2 semester, biomed students are taught the same contents in 1 semester). If you are wanting to study med/dent, the priority stands in obtaining a high GPA (and gamsat), so Personally I reckon it is better to study biomedical science. Med/Dent does not give extra brownie points for studying biomed unfortunately so it would be the best to maximise your chances in getting the best possible marks. However, I am pretty sure there are some subjects that are only being taught in biomed so have a look at the subjcets (depends on the uni as well) and if there is a subject that you really want to learn, go for biomed! It is def harder than science but if you like to challenge yourself~ if you have more questions, feel free to DM me on insta!! Good luck for everything
