Funny, I did hear slight pitch thing on one of her louder notes I think toward the end but it’s part of being human. Considering all she brings to the table, not sure there’s another pop singer on Christina’s level with that combo of soulfulness, style flex, power with clarity, & vocal nuance. Anita Baker & Regina Belle have that similar combination, & laid the groundwork, maybe also Nathalie Cole, but it all comes back to Aretha, whose foundation includes gospel & jazz. This performance was gears for that segment with time limits for an audience expecting to hear ‘Beautiful’ or 1 of her popular jams, so Herbie embellished a lot on piano behind her, but they didn’t have the piano solo in the middle like the recording which is amazing!
If you liked this you'd definitely LOVE her performance of Merry Christmas Baby at her DVD Special . . . or even the one on Letterman but the DVD special is better. THAT performance is absolute vocal savagery.

I can acknowledge the raw vocal talent. But vocal performance is so much more than what Christina gives sometimes. Where's the musicality? The interpretation? Why she searching for notes? Yes, she does a lot. And she does too damn much. I'm sorry. Pulling the mic away to hide thinness at the top is a known coverup.
