Am Puerto Rican met my wife here in NYC but she from Villa Con. We go to DR 3 times a year. We stay in the Capital but at the Winston ChurchHill area around Blue Mall but we always go to Villa Con. I love it. We going on the 27th and this video got me hype!!
Thanks for Purely Walking all over the place Eli!👁 (& wiggling your car thru sometimes difficult/tight traffic!)...👍Appreciated all ur insight, references/highlighting past & current establishments, ways & places to shop/relax/socialize/worship, showing popular & well-known streets/points of interest, history of the area, etc... 😌& (as is typical of your videos) the cool tunes/vibes in sync w/your laid-back "chilled" narrative style sound w/various assorted inflections! ...😅👏🆒️🌬🇩🇴
BUEN VIDEO👍🏽
Great video. You seem to know your way around in VillaCon and other neighborhoods . Although I was born in VillaCon, I don't know where anything is anymore. :(
Min 13:55 the blue corner that's where my grandma's house is la Ana Valverde. I love being there. Fun fact my home is one of the oldest home in the neighborhood with my family residing in it for over 80 years my grandma rings bells lol 🙏
Wow! This is unbelievable! I used to live in Villa Consuelo from 1982 to 1986 with my uncle and my grandma on Azorvispo Valera Avenue, close to Tunty Caceres. Back in that time, the neighborhood was a lot safer. Residents used to leave the doors of their houses and neighbors would great each other. I used to go school in Ensanche Quisqueya, an upscale middle class neighborhood. Ahh! The memories. Hard to believe that my cousin told me that today that Santo Domingo has a serious crime problem, and that juvenile delinquents roam through Villa Consuelo. Hopefully, Santo Domingo will become safer again.
I'm so glad this video brought back good memories! Yes unfortunately, crime is always an issue in some areas of town. But there is always the bright light of those good folks and welcoming families living there.
