Thank you for another fantastic video. And it is absolutely right that the first line under 'Ticket Price' says 'Free travel for Swiss Travel Pass holders'. I get sick and tired of watching videos on travel in Switzerland which mention Interrail, local transport passes and even the Halb Tax Abonnement (not meant for tourists) but do not mention the fabulous Swiss Travel Pass valid on all Swiss public transport (Trains, Trams, buses boats etc). The only exceptions are (almost all) lines which simply 'go up mountains'. However, the Swiss travel Pass does give free travel on the two lines up the Rigi.

There are electrical wires above the train cars, so that is one mode of transportation; why are there then cogwheels?
The cog wheels are needed because of the extremely steep gradients. In places as steep as 25%. (1 in 4).
The trains are electrically powered; the rack and cogwheel are to help the train climb gradients.
