In the adrenaline-soaked context of a fight, most "pressure points" become almost useless to improve position or change an opponent's intent. The only time they become useful is to illicit a reaction from an already compromised opponent and create small opportunities. Leverage is a much more useful principle in such situations and doesn't depend on the mental state of one's opponent.

Thanks for sharing your insights! You're absolutely right that leverage plays a crucial role in combat situations. It's always interesting to hear different perspectives on martial arts techniques.

Pain compliance is a myth with people intent on doing you serious bodily harm.

Good friend listen I know you think pressure points are useless but actually when utilizing strikes these techniques can be useful everything works but nothing works

True within a certain context. It's been my experience that street fighting is a melee. There's nothing clean or structured about it. Hitting with accuracy reduces to "head, torso, lower body." Just my experiences.

It's perfectly legal in the US. But if you are in the UK or Canada we can't ship to you.

As a former bouncer, I like the first one, that "favorite headlock" could quickly be turned into a least favorite headlock considering what's in very easy reach
However, none of them take into account that your opponent might try to fight back and prevent you from doing these.

Good to add these into your wrestling and BJJ endeavors.
I never only used pressure points as the main base, I would use head hip hand underhook control first ie fundentals of grappling then use pressure points after establishing a good position and especially if they were stubborn and not letting me get good position.
Any origin and insertion of muscle tissue or hollow cavity is an excellent nerve center to target with fingers or better yet elbow point

In the UK the striker will be classed as an offensive weapon, so we can't carry one 😢

    • @alexgaras1573

Yes over here the government will likely be making forks and spoons illegal offensive weapons next. UK citizens have been so conditioned that they will likely all passively accept or openly support the move. Then they will take everything else we own in the same way, we will be left with nothing, but will be happy we are safer! That's the plan.

Do it anyway. I’m not saying order the striker. But carry something with a point. I’m in America and I carry a carpenter’s pencil ✏️ and a bottle opener. Improvise. Both our countries are being invaded. Protect yourself and your loved ones with everything you have. God bless.

Speaking of umbrellas, my father once hooked a dudes leg with one. Yanking the guy as the guy was standing on thevhood of a car.
The guy fell on his butt and my pops pulled him off.
I told my sons about it and showed them how to hook a leg.

Hey Fightfast, show some techniques under pressure with no preempts, with a none compliant opponent that is actively and aggressively fighting back.
And try these techniques and see what would really work.
