I have one of those Movado Bold watches in bad condition, I think it's a polished stai nless steel gold finish. Are you able to bring it back k to life?
Reach out to watch makers Thank you for making this video. I would like to get into watch modifications and eventually gradually start movement restorations. Do you have any directions as to what are some things I can be doing? So far I have bought basic tools more geared for modding from DIY watch club using a NH35 movement. (I successfully changed the date wheel, hands, and dial to aftermarket seiko parts not given by the company) I’ve read practicing on a pocket watch works well being that the parts are bigger and easier to work with. I also want to try and disassemble and reassemble the movement. Any advise on good books, schools or things that has best served you in the past to help build your skills. Thank you in advance! 😁
It depends of the work that need to be done. Yes you technicaly "remove" weight but its unnoticable, for a quotation, follow the contact link on my website www.lerestauratheure.fr
More details about the materials you use would be of interest to many of us that are also into the watch restoration hobby. You know, buffing discs, compounds, sanding paper grids...all this stuff
They never tell you but I believe 320 grit sand paper. Green Brillo pads work well but gives you a more coarser look... which looks good but if you're looking for a true (smooth) matte finish, try 320 with light pressure.
2:48 I watched it again and if you pause it at 2:48 - it looks like he used 2 different techniques. The band on the left looks like it was done with a Brillo pad which has a courser finish and the one on the right is smoother which was probably done with 320 sand paper. Not sure how particular you are or what watch your refinishing but that's the difference between Brillo & 320 sand paper. And then Cape Cod on the polished areas.
stop killing watches !!! and learn how to do it with the way you done it you damaged and distorted the original geometry of the case ,strap ,bezel all lines and surfaces must remain acording to the original shape and form you buffed to death all sharp corners ,you can tell by the way ligth is reflect away frome the surfaces its not sharp and uniform like it needs to be but wavy and rounded
Gah! The way you slap the watch on the table 😭😭😭😭
Beautiful results 🥰
Brought it back to life!

th-cam.com/video/_YZf8zzH7l8/w-d-xo.html - is this how you would polish back side of case?
Thought it looked cooler before the polish
