False bans are impossible to avoid, thats right.. but the problem is that if you write an appeal it gets declined like 99% of the cases even you have evidences that it is a false ban
it's almost like the appeal team should spend more than 2 seconds on each case...
you can avoid them if you just play single player minecraft
Exactly. Hypixel just sucks honestly. Even servers with 1k players have 100 times greater staffs and systems.
Also there should be far less real hackers now since the migration. Idk why wouldn't they have time to make a non-automated response. And how many appeals are actually from intentional rulebreakers?
thats why i am so afraid to legit play some aspects of the game i earned some good money ah flipping but i basically stopped out of fear of getting false banned and i am just trying out dungeons since i was afraid of getting banned for mod usage like skytils and neu
I find it so funny how staff punish people on the forums for necroposting when they could just change how their own website works and make it so old threads with new replies can never be bumped

This is the exact same reason why I stopped playing Hypixel and also GTA Online. When I realized how laughably easy it is to be falsely banned out of the blue for something you may not have even known you did in both games, I started to question why I would bother putting time into either when all of that effort and time could be wasted by me getting randomly banned/wiped for something completely outside of my control.
Heck, in GTA Online one of my friends got his entire account wiped for _accidentally stumbling into a minor money glitch, reporting it to Rockstar and never doing it again_ but because he did do it once, even though he didn't ever intend to, his multiple hundreds of hours of progress just got deleted. It's also the same reason why I largely never play games in hardcore/permadeath mode, I don't want all of my progress to be erased because of one little thing that might be outside of my control like a random glitch that might kill me.

@@datmanydocrisgoat. It’s a way worse feeling being wiped than just logging off and not returning because at least then if you’d ever want to come back you don’t have to start from scratch. I’ve moved on to almost exclusively play on locally hosted servers with friends. A false ban rarely ever costs the platform anything (I mean who would sue?) but it costs the player everything.
As someone who got false banned for a year for "boosting" this was a very humorous video

@@raptorzeraora2632 That's suspicious because a ban message would be "Blacklisted Modifications" instead of something like "Auto aim," so I'm not sure that I can believe that. I'm also not saying that you weren't legit.
My friend got banned for 8 months because of fall damage. He had really high ping and fell from somewhere and didn’t die because of lag and watchdog flagged it as cheating. While other people are blatantly using scaffold and kill aura and don’t get banned
i have played a lot of bedwars i am like lvl 80 and i have never seen killaura once. i do not recall seeing scaffold hacking either.

@@TiocfaidhArLa34 just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t it mean it never exists, I have a few clients (I used to hack on hypixel for vids) and they would probably still bypass the trash anticheat that shouldn’t even be worth more than 50$ (countless users have used 3.3 reach or above and not gotten banned)

Wait, so they confirmed that the ban for the inventory moving was unfair and he was not breaking the rules, and didn't lift the ban? That's like someone making an appeal and proving in court that they were innocent or there was a mistrial, and then the guards just keep them in jail despite being proven innocent.
That's just disgusting and lazy behavior, I'm glad I don't play on Hypixel anymore because such a mentality where you continue punishing someone even after acknowledging it was your own mistake is not something I want to support.
I mean it literally takes two seconds to write the pardon command... and yet in that extra time they save from not pardoning innocent people, they still can't manage to ban even some of the bedwars hackers for literal flying O_O pathetic

Their staff who handle the appeal cases are manchildren who get a seizure whenever their viewpoint is challenged in any way. "staff word is final bc we're staff and we are always right and ur WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!! why: because i say so !!!!!"

They can't do something about it, you are not expecting them to read 25000 report 99% are just excuses.

i got banned for 90 days cuz i beated a hacker in skywars, dude was flying and killed every single other player, i boxed myself in obsidian cuz i saw that and then after the round ended i got almost instantly banned for killaura even tho we were in a 1 by 2 by 2 obsidian box hitting eachother until the hacker's armor broke and died, this was back in 2018

This happened to me before. Still perma banned to this day.
I got stuck in a block while building in Guess the Build. Got banned in front of 8 people for clipping out of the block in an attempt to escape. My appeal was rejected.

In Johns defense, I literally had no clue the term "Necroing" even existed either until 2020 when I commented on some random Steam Discussion of something that came up in a google search. Still have that warning from VRChat for Necroing and slandering their game despite saying there's nothing being done about screen spamming and crasher avatars.

I cant remember if it was actually Hypixel, but a friend got banned because he let his brother play on his account while taking a break, which tanked his KD or something like that.
So when he came back to the game his stats suddenly spiked and he was seemingly banned for it, and when they appealed successfully they got their account back completely wiped.
You could fix the inv-move false bans by adding tolerance to the watchdog system. If it checks for only a single packet, then lag could trigger it. If it checks for a series of packets, that should give it time to account for lag and still catch legit cheating.
Or just kick people who do it instead of banning them. Prevents them from doing it.

I got banned once for logging onto skyblock, walking to the AH, collected my auctions, and was banned immediately. I really don't know what happened. I think I sold or bought a duped item.

I got false banned for flying at the hub, I had VIP on the server (not worth) so I could fly in lobbies and stuff, but I still got banned for it. Also created a stub to try and appeal my ban but they denied it without letting me ask questions about the ban

Now that i know you can get banned for doing practically anything during a lagspike, i am now very scared.
I'd recommend just playing on a server other than Hypixel if you are worried about losing all your stuff to lag. At least then you can return later on

Yeah I have a weird experience with a false ban.
So when I played bedwars a while ago, both my friend and I got banned at the same time for using illegal mods (we party each other), and this was pretty weird. The only "mod" we ever used (and still do) was Lunar Client. I assumed it was because, combined with the weird nature of playing post 1.8 on Hypixel (I played on 1.16/1.17), along with my ping (average 230 ms), I was able to kind of abuse my lag. If I fell off while bridging, I could whip my crosshair around and start spamming the end of the bridge with blocks (basically downstack but less cool), and magically, I would lag back a few times and be back on the bridge. There were also other times where I couldn't control the lag-back at all, I would just get teleported back over and over. So we individually filed appeals, along with a video showing my inability to control the teleportation (usually unable to control), and with proof of no illegal mods.
Rejected, along with the same reason stated on the ban, "You were detected using illegal mods", or something like that.
It was a 30 day ban as well, so there was no way we could log in again for a long while. But, the next day, I was curious, I decided to try logging on to Hypixel to see what would happen, it froze for a bit, and suddenly, I was able to log in. Same thing for my friend. I asked around to others about getting banned, appeal rejected, and suddenly being able to log in, everyone said that it doesn't happen. So now I'm sitting here a few months after, still confused as hell as to how that would work.

Similar thing happened to me. I once got banned for a month I think, I have no idea why since I was just playing as usual. My appeal was denied as well but I think I could rejoin after like half a month as well

Reminds me of when I got banned for a month for “watchdog cheat detection” during one of the only times I was playing vanilla with just optifine.
I go to make an appeal, and it says denied because it “could confirm I had been using hacks or blacklisted modification to my game”

It really isnt. Hypixel is probably the hardest server to get false anticheat banned. At least now, it was easier back then.

I got banned on Hypixel for logging in on my new computer after I upgraded it. Their logic was they thought my account got hacked because I used a different device. I repealed it and by miracle chance it was approved. Altough I was warned that if the auto ban happens again for the same reason, it would be un-repealable.
Staff: responsible for banning blatant hackers and people using bad language/bad builds, false bans when overlooking because of a hurry/tiredness
Watchdog: responsible for banning blatant hackers late, amateur hackers instantly and sometimes instantly banning legit but suspicious players.
Atlas: a safeguard for false bans, not applying to skyblock
Well, it's basically impossible to improve on that though. first of all, you probably have no statistics for blatantly Hackers not being banned for a long time, and you have to Decoder wether you want to ban all amateur Hackers and risk people who are really laggy to get false banned, or if you want to let some amateur Hackers pass but therefore have almost no false bans. there really is no way to differ between very laggy players and closet cheaters.
The only thing that'd bad is Hypixel ignoring appeals. Not even telling people why they got banned/ not responding to evidence of people not having cheated is a no go and should definitely be worked on. Watchdog itself is not bad though

Bruh just a few days ago I got banned for the same reason. I appealed to the admin and they rejected without telling me how I was "abusing exploits". I thought I was gonna be wiped and this video finally allows me to sleep at night without worrying about wipe. Thank you so much. Subbed.

@@henryfeige8596 This happened to me but instead of that I did get wiped, i lost around 600h progress and my main profile, there was no alert on the chat or nothing related, and to make the things worse after that I swapped to my second profile to see if something was missing and after 15 min I got Permabanned for no reasons (I literally was grabbing some wheat), I wrote an appeal and got unbanned what they didn't get me back anything from my og profile and it hurt so much loosing all that progress, ironman profile with an epic scatha, spirit scepter, glacial scythe, divan's armor semi-maxed and more things that made my profile around 1b network

@@henryfeige8596 Yeah, I know the feeling, on my ironman I rushed most of the things I had, some of them were RNG and for some other I had to put a lot of effort. After being banned, I started a normal profile and started again to rush it, but this time I don't want to get stressed by grinding for hours just to get a single item again lmao
I have 15 friends that were banned for "hacking" over a period of around 7 years. The only person who ever used a hacking client that got banned was banned for kill aura. Normally I'd say that they were in the right but that dude prides himself in his pvp capabilities and always turns pvp hacks off, and on that particular day he didn't even have hacks on in the 1st place.
I've never once seen them ban someone who had actually used a hack client in the moment, but I've seen them ban plenty of innocent people, even 1 who hadnt been on that server for an entire year had unknowingly gotten banned a month or so before attempting to return. I was in the call with that person when they discovered it, and I remember just how confused they were. I led them to the appeal and of course nothing was done because they are apparently 'incapable of mistakes' and pride themselves on their buggy "watchdog" system, which didn't get that friend but got other people who did nothing.
I have no respect for this server and I have been avoiding it for at least 5 years, and I have no intention to go back either. It's ridiculous how much of a monopoly that server holds with how terrible it is.

i think they do that delay on purpose so that hackers can't find out what triggered watchdog

This person, despite indeed hacking, adamantly refuses to use pvp hacks. He always had some kinda honor thing when it came to this stuff, and he prides himself in his capabilities. A person like him tends to believe pvp hacks are a handicap for people with absolutely no skill. I've never seen him use pvp hacks in a situation where it wasn't for a joke, and he only ever did any of that in a private server we used to use together.
TL;DR: it ain't a delay, I specified in my prior comment that my friend doesn't pvp hack (which was the ban reason). Watchdog is just a piece of shit that couldn't pick a hacker out of a game where 90% use kill aura. They'd most find people in the 10% portion

What does he consider a joke? Could he not accidentally leave it on?
You've verified he has indeed used PvP hacks in PvP situations. You also verified he was indeed hacking on the sever which has PvP elements and if I'm not mistaken an economy. Perhaps this was the one time a joke went too far or he lied to you because it would mean admitting it was all a lie? He could've even made an honest mistake.
You denied it being a delay but if it was a delay them using an aura outside of PvP would be in their character especially for a joke and any of the three major ways to slow down cheat progress would fit them. Delay, Misinform, and Similar Situation.
Watchdog might be crap, but it appears to have outsmarted your friend who may have outsmarted you.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 i verified that he uses hacks, i have *not* verified that he uses *pvp* hacks. actually, i was the one who used pvp hacks, if anyone did. i never got caught, but to be fair, i was so bad at PVP that i couldn't do much even *with* hacks on. he was well aware of the fact i used them, and didn't have any reason to lie.

That said, the instances he used pvp hacks were when we were on his private server. This was 7-10 years ago, mind you. Some details are going to be foggy, so I can't really provide much detail with the greatest clarity of mind, but we've both used hacks on several other servers during that period. He's gotten banned for hacks before, maybe for flying, speed, water walking, or other various things, but pvp hacks just weren't his preference, and even when he *was* using them, it was obvious.
Another edit: just realised I didn't even need to explain the private server thing. It existed in the original comment that you claimed contained "contradictions" but it went completely ignored. Guess I wasn't the only one with a brainfart, huh?

Edit: wow the exact same thing happend with Angish. So I guess it was from the lagg then. I'm pretty sure I also openend a gui and then walked away only for it to open a few seconds later. Good job Hypixel very cool.
theres no way that you got banned for opening a gui then walking away. I frequently use a bug that allows you to close a gui without sending a packet (clicking f6, then clicking escape) and keep on walking, and I never have gotten banned, they were probably just banned for macroing and use this as an excuse or something XD

I saw the fragment in the video and that's exactly what happend to me before the ban (it was also for 30 days with the reason "cheating through the use of unfair game advantages). If that's not the reason im even more confused
Hypixel should have some trusted outside ban appeal sources. Channels like this that put in the time to get to the root of a ban, that can then message the appeals team to highlight specific cases that are worth picking out of the massive sea of appeals. It outsources the work for them. This could, however, backfire on the outside sources, as they may then get inundated with ban appeals. I still feel like there should be some form of recourse for those who put in the effort to gather enough evidence to prove their innocence.

I imagine the walking thing could be patched by making it impossible to open chests and that kind of stuff if there’s too much lag. You can’t be banned for walking with an open chest if the chest was never opened in the first place.
But what if you spend long enough in the chest that it starts lagging while the chest is opened? Would the chest suddenly close?

The way that Ghostly got banned happened to my friend as well, hypixel kinda needs to find a better way to ban people that microbecause they ban a decent amount of people that aren’t. (Btw im just saying, i know it might be hard to tell the difference)

Me and My friend used to play Hypixel a lot. However I think around 2 years ago he got banned for "encouraging cheating."
We didn't know what they were talking about, as for starters every time he played Hypixel, I was there. We came down to a simple explanation: Lag
My friend has shit wifi, and even on games like roblox his ping spiked up to 50k(yikes). We sent this proof of awful constant ping to the admins and an appeal. Guess what, they DENIED it, saying that by joining hypixel, we agree to the network rules. We looked it over, and it said nothing about high ping getting you banned.
He swore off Hypixel after that, and honestly I can't blame them.

i got banned for a year due to “use of unfair advantages” i made an appeal asking why i got banned and they ignored me and when i made another one they told me there was nothing more they could do. really sucks cuz i enjoyed playing build battle.
I will definitely keep following these, me and my friend got banned a while back when we were messing around with salmon kit in skywars, even have a recording of it but appeal was obviously denied. It just sucks that even with this broad brush banning approach it still takes around 30min for a blatant hacker to get banned.

This sort of thing is part of why I stopped dealing with servers years ago, I was never banned but the idea of not owning your own world and being able to have it all taken away at the whim of the owner just stopped sitting right with me. Single player is a bit lonelier but I can download, select, and configure my own mod list, cheat when I feel the need, and, outside of a bad world corruption or something, it can't be taken from me. What's the point of amassing 100000 minecraft server funbucks to get the content a few mods in singleplayer could outdo, just to have them take it all away when the server dies or you get banned by a glitch?
Maybe it's because I'm not a mini game person that I don't understand.

It's funny how the most active Minecraft server has such a bad anti cheat and people get false banned for literally nothing and even when they prove it's a stupid ban reason it still gets denied

I will agree, false bans are impossible to avoid but for a server as big as hypixel some of this is completely inexcusable. The player base is your source of revenue and when you aren’t transparent on your bans and won’t take accountability when you false ban people while running automated bans that can and will trigger falsely due to Minecraft’s inconsistencies, you either need to hire staff or spend more than 2 seconds on ban appeals. Seriously false wiping profiles that take years to setup and not reverting the mistake is actually sickening.
What’s even worse even with this blatant cheaters are prevalent and happen literally anytime a timed event happens

I have MVP+ on hypixel and a couple years ago I got banned for a whole year "for cheating" ( I found out when I tried to join the server a few weeks after the initial ban ) I and when I appealed and asked why they just said "you know what you did" and locked the chat :/
They didn't even say what type of cheating or if it was flagged by watchdog or anything.

You know, stuff like this is why I tend to avoid unofficial multiplayer servers in ANY game in general. Mods may be screened, but in the end they aren't professional. They're way more prone to laziness, personal bias, or favouritism. And heck even official server mods aren't that great either, in my opinion.
I'd rather host my own server and play with friends. Fuck dealing with other flawed human strangers that might undeservedly ban you whenever they feel like it.

One time, I was playing bedwars with my friends, and out of nowhere my internet had a seizure and my client-side tps pretty much doubled(in other words i was moving twice as fast as everything else in the world). The watchdog banned me immediately. Despite the fact that i had a screenshot showing that I was on lunar at the time of the ban, my appeal was still initially denied because the staff just copy&pasted a response without actually reading the appeal. When i was trying to research how to get it fixed, all of the information about watchdog on their website suggested that it was somehow infallible and mistake-free, which was obviously not the case. I eventually had to ping a random mod on the forums to get my ban overturned, and even by the time it was, i had already served almost all of my 30-day time. Hypixel just seems unwilling to accept that their anticheat could ever be wrong. I really hope something is done about this because getting false banned really fricking sucks.

The issue I have with that is that I had not played Minecraft for around a year and the ban was applied when my account was not played on...
Of course the appeal was denied and my Skyblock what I had worked on prior was wiped. Never playing on that server again.

My brother got banned 2 or three times by hypixel. This resulted in a ban for an entire year. Weote an appeal everytime and it was rejected swiftly without any good response. It just stated that you broke rules and so you will stay banned, not any thought put toward looking into it. We still have no idea why he was banned as looking at his user activity showed no one else was using his account except when he was online. He is now unbanned and has not been banned since that year but it is very irritating. Lesson, hypixel support sucks. The worst support are those that say you were banned and may give some vague reason but refuse to elaborate. I got banned by vanguard in the beta and when I asked sup about it and told them I had video of all my past game experiences they refused to tell me what or when I got banned. They were willing to give me a chance though and removed the ban. I like to think my solo awp ace got me banned
This also happened to me, same situation except it wasn't lag, it was switching between tabs and pressing a direction and the inventory key at the same time

This is why I could never touch a server like Hypixel. I cannot fathom the frustration and anger I'd feel from being randomly banned and having THOUSANDS of hours of work wiped because I happened to use a feature being incentivized by the server, and catching a ban because some other dudes were doing macro exploit. The fact that people can eat a random and unfounded ban and have no recourse for it is completely deranged.

the first time I ever played on hypixel, I joined my favorite game which was bedwars. But when I used the team chat command, I just got banned permanently for no reason. I don't use any clients, just vanilla and I still am banned till this day.
No worries, I don't like hypixel anyway. There are a hell lot more better servers out there so no need to help me out or anything
imo they should not be able to permanently ban anyone unless that someone did something very very bad to the server (so you can't get false perma banned for stupid/no reason whatsoever)

i got banned for seemingly no reason by watchdog, and when i appealed they basically just said "yeah so we dont make mistakes, so no"
my cousin got false banned for 'hacks' she never even had and she had to buy a new account to be able to play bed wars together. I did my best to appeal the ban and all I got back was a rejection notice. the staff are genuinely quite embarrassing
One time I was playing bedwars, and this guy was trying to do one of the bw challenges, I'm pretty sure he was doing the invisible shop, which is soooo hard. So knowing my pain when trying the challenge, I tried to just kill everyone and ignore him. And then it was down to him and another dude. That other dude was about to kill him, and I told him that he was doing a challenge, and if he could just take the one L to help a person out. And for some reason he said, "nah I'm not a simp." And the person doing the challenge had nothing girly, neither his name, or his skin. So now I was pretty annoyed and confused. But then, he preceded to break his bed and kill him. Then he said, "That's what you get for teaming." And now I was fed up, I said, "then 1v1 me noob." And when I said that, he claimed to be friends with a staff member or something and I said sure. I eventually kicked his ass an moved on with my life. But the next day I was banned. I do have sc if anybody wants to see, at least I think.
I will always remember the day I got banned on my main, playing mega skywars, 5v1 a mod and his buddies (I assume), he got salty like a little soy boy and decided I wasn't playing fairly, the 5v1 was my hiding then knocking like 3 of them off the edge and just being better at pvp than the other 2
I literally got banned by not being on the server for a year. Logged off and came back a year later to "Oof, you're banned".
Being that hipixel makes much money with their services, banning people like this over bugs and not repealing it is grounds for ALOT of lawsuits
That necroposting ban is a perfect example of devs/admins making more unnecessary work for themselves... if you don't want old threads re-opened _just set up an auto-locking function_ that closes off the ability to post after a certain time of inactivity. It's nothing new to forums, and even if you have to do it manually (by reviewing your active threads once every few months) it's still going to require less time than it does handling the inevitable bans & appeals _plus_ going back to delete the new posts. Work smarter, not harder!

I was once falsely banned for taking an eating break while running on a server. Apparently, there was a cheat that allowed you to eat and run at the same time (in a time where you couldnt), and the way they'd detect it was to look at the particles around your feet. Apparently the cheat allowed you to move at a faster speed while eating and exit faster cause the sprint was technically active while eating. The way they'd detect it was to see if the feet were emitting sprint particles while eating.
The issue being is that there was an update to MC which made it so that eating doesnt take you out of sprint anymore. So me and like 30-40 others were all banned before the mods were like "hey there seems to be alot of people cheating? somethings not right" and eventually unbanned us after interrogating us for like 20 messages.
If walking gets you banned, I'm gonna just stay in a wheelchair.

The amount of false bans and the fact that these bans usually don't get appealed is wild. It's a wonder they still have players playing, you would think anyone who actively played this server would have been false banned by now.
Getting an ban for walking on Hypixel does not surprise me what so ever. I got banned just for logging in, even contacted support multiple times about it over the 6+ months time period and I never got an answer as to WHY I was banned. All I know it was an permanent ban for... some weird reason.
Suppose Hypixel is not supposed to be played with vanilla minecraft client.
I love how Hypixel not only bans first and then asks questions later, but trying to appeal is like talking to a brick wall. Seems very fair!
