    nice!, great project combining multiple things together, now take it to the next level, add rfid tags to multiple containers, on setup the system stores the empty container's weights and then full, when getting into a lower % could update your shopping list ;)

    Fine, but why use the arduino, this could be done from the rpi alone...

    I have a postage scale. Weigh the empty tin (can) and scale to zero. Fill the tin with tea bags, then divide the full weight by the number of bags. voila. somewhat accurate method of knowing tea bag content using a LUT. Why make life harder because we can?
