  • This is one of many in my next series of large canvas abstract ocean scenes. There is something satisfying about doing big canvas art! I like using the blow dryer so that i can get motion in the painting. Make sure to check out my social media to see the dried results. Fluid art and acrylic pouring is so much fun for me. I love how relaxing and rewarding each painting is. This not always easy art, there is a lot that goes into making each one of these paintings and i hope you guys see the love that i put into each one. Thank you for joining me on the journey of fluid art!
    thank you for those that have supported my channel! Another way to support is to share this video, like and comment!

    Acrylic pouring has been such an avenue for my mental heath and i am so glad that i can continue to share my journey through modern and contemporary and abstract art with you! Fluid art is so relaxing for me and I love the outcome of this pour!
    Colors: pthalo green, metallic gold, pthalo blue, paynes grey, white, liqht aqua green, cerulean blue
    PM for the rest of my colors: floetrol, gloss medium and varnish (1 product), gac800 (50/30/20) ratio, Mixed in a 1pt paint, 2 parts PM plus water for consistency.
    Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you so much for watching. Happy painting!
    I am so happy that I found acrylic pouring/fluid art a few years ago. It has helped me in so many ways and it just keeps getting better and better. This visual arts creative outlet has made me so happy. I am loving this abstract art! I hope to keep doing this for years to come! I have always been fascinated by modern and contemporary art. There is something about it that is so freeing and expressive. I love acrylic pouring because I get to experiment and really join the creative side of my brain with the scientific part! There are so many different fluid acrylic pouring techniques out there, so much more to try and have fun with. Make sure you are subscribed to my channel so that you may learn and be creative with me. I love hearing all of your comments. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and I grew up in a quaint seaside village. Now, I live about 2 minutes from a beautiful beach so I'm an ocean girl too. It very often inspires me creatively.

    I live just south of Daytona Beach. We're inland, but not too awfully far from the ocean. I do love it, it's beauty and power, but I don't like going to the beach -- too many people, for a start. But I do find it inspirational. This piece makes me think of high tide rushing in, while the prior wave is going out. This is lovely!

    I am definitely an ocean girl, born and bred, (ok, also mountain girl). Picked up scuba diving at age 17, my dad had a sailboat and we did some extensive sailing. Later on, I decided to travel abroad and see the "underworld". That's why I so enjoy your work, and I got lost in this painting, again! You do that to me! Very pretty.

    I like it too! So interesting how you get the lacing thru-out! Really love the movement! I live close to the ocean living in Southern Ca! I took my grandson to a powwow recently and afterwards we went to the beach! I thought there was a beach. There was not! Just ocean crashing into rocks! My grandson was very disappointed but I took tons of pictures so I could see how the colors and movement and where the waves come in! LOL... he kept telling me let's go! I took too long! LOL

    Molly, your bravery to engage the large canvas is inspiring! This Ocean rendering is rich and lovely, and I eagerly await your next in this series. PS: I rewatched your pouring medium (how to mix) video and am going to try it. I confirmed Elmers GlueAll is vegan so I'm going for it. I also firmly believe that it is the liquitex (not the GAC or Floetral) causes the cells, that and water & stretching. So I may leave it out. I have the worse luck with Liquitex, it liquifies my paints and causes the dreaded zig-zags :-(

    • @MOLLYSARTISTRY
      @MOLLYSARTISTRY  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that pouring medium recipe is old, I dint use glue all much at all anymore, I need to make a new video. Liquitex pouring medium actually only helps to create pearl cells if it is very watered down. Otherwise, I dint get alot if cells at all. When the paint is watered down, it is just the paint density that creates the cells. The floetrol does have a chemical it it that slightly repels water, so it too does create some cells.

    One of my favorite characteristics is how it conjures up the feeling of the ocean, but isn't a painting of the beach! Not a problem if it was, but I think this leaves more for the beholder to experience. I live in Jacksonville, FL. I'm within a short driving distance of the best beaches!
    Absolutely love listening as well as watching! I get so much out of your tutorials. In all fairness, I think that's probably why I subscribe to the channels I follow. There are a couple wh on never speak a word, or give any information in the drop down, but they're much more the rarity than the norm. Going to watch the collab you did with @MixedMediaGirl next. She is awesome, too! Thank you for sharing your talent with us! Blessings.

    I have to try that yet right now think I have a lot on my plate with pours and trying to make flowers lol my first flower one did not come out but far away you can tell it is 2 flowers close not so much was told my paints are to thin witch is why my 2 flower pour came out the way it did. I love painting this way because it is a learn as you paint so I am not stressed out on a certain way of painting. I am going to be making my Craft shop in my back yard big enough to do all my crafts I want a big enough table in there for all kinds of painting. I also make my own Jewelry and finding I make so much of it that I will have to start selling them. I also want to be able to sell some paintings but no idea how much to sell them for to start with do you have any ideas?

      It is a reaction from the gloss medium in my paints plus australian floetrol.
      I mix the australian floetrol with amsterdam acrylic and then swipe it across
      Also, with very thin paints and adding a metallic. You can create cells like this from density or by mixing different brands of thin paint or adding a metallic. Each of the paint brands reacts differently. I like the effect of Amsterdam paints mixed with creative inspirations brand or soho brand metallics.
