I'd absolutely ditch the birth of my child if I were to get the chance to play a VR game like Half-Life: Alyx. Like, that's a once in a lifetime experience right there. Child birth? You can always make another and see it then, but experiencing VR for the first time can only be experienced once.
I'm a few years older than NL (yes, that is actually possible) and when I was born, fathers attending birth wasn't yet the norm. They also didn't encourage women to breastfeed their children. Mom tried it once, a nurse then more or less told her to switch to bottles. I'm glad that these things now have changed, it only will benefit the child.
