When the Evil Doctor mocked Sean for wanting to spend Thanksgiving with his family, it made him sound more like an elementary school bully and less like an adult boss.
I think most adult bosses are like that. Nothing but a bunch of elementary school bullies.
He is too good looking to play villain.
If it were that rookie doctor talking that way to the boss, the young man would've been out of the hospital premises in a heartbeat. But since it's the boss berating someone in a lower position, he can get away with it. Sad but true.

The boss was unfair an he was wrong and he should have gotten fired !!! I gotta say I really admire Volodymyr's acting, Istan is also a great actor but Volodymyr really took it emotionally and that's the greatest thing in this video.

Istan really delivered in his portrayal of the uncaring boss. He set up the entire story line with his characterization and the other actors carried the ball over the goal line. Excellent writing!
I'm mad both at the wife and the boss doctor. Neither of them understand this guy. He heals and saves lives for a living, and he gets little thanks for it. Imagine if it weren't for that kind lady patient. I think she probably saved his marriage.
If you have a soldier, firefighter, cop, or medical professional as a spouse, please don't be a selfish POS and understand their duty and sacrifices. Unfortunately, they can't always be there for you. Don't count on them every step of the way all the time. Emergencies and dire situations don't take a vacation.
Besides, Thanksgiving isn't such an important holiday. It's not the end of the world if you can't see your loved ones on a particular day.

I don't know how the system in U.S works. Where i come from, major holidays are at least triple pay for a staff to stay on.
Regardless of race or nationality.
Even my family would not question my decision.
If there were others that want me to cover their shift? Sure!
But i expect to be paid.

For me this has the feel of Christmas Carol and other stories about people who want to be with their family on Christmas. To me Thanksgiving is my Christmas. Its my absolute favorite holiday and i actually hate Christmas.
The insane thing is that he was the only one there. That would not be allowed at any hospital because it's impossible to keep an ER running with one man there. Plus not to mention how at any point an accident can happen due to the travel going on and if it's major it'll overrun that one doctor.
