  • I want to make a spacesuit! But I have to learn how to use a sewing machine first. Darn it. So, I make some bags so I can learn. And who can't use some tote bags? They're so useful for toting things. Follow along to see how I did. And follow @CraftsWithEllen (TH-cam link below) if you want to watch someone who actually knows how to sew.
    Huge thanks to Karoline Hinz for hosting the Spacesuit Challenge. You can follow #SpacesuitChallenge on Instagram for more information:

    Enormous thanks to Ellen for getting me started down this whole sewing path with her sewing bingo challenge:

    Admittedly, I found it hard following the project due to the sheer number of technical terms you used, Sharon, but in the end, I think I managed. Between this and Ellen's videos, I have no reason left not to make some kind of bag soon. Thanks for sharing! (Also, can you put me in touch with your sponsor? They sound awesome! And your weights look awesome!).

    • @FigmentsMade
      @FigmentsMade  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So very many technical thingies! I'm glad you made it through! You should absolutely make a bag or something soon! Though for technique, please feel free to watch Ellen. She's the expert! (I seem to have lost touch with that sponsor for some reason. I think they were saying something about lawyers last I heard but I will do what I can. And those weights are so handy! Thank you!!)

    What's that weird ruler thingy you're using? I don't recall seeing anything like this before 🤔

    • @FigmentsMade
      @FigmentsMade  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a specific sewing ruler called a seam gauge. You set it to the size you're aiming for and then set it against the fabric to make sure you're being consistent.
