Homicide Detectives Ask for the Public’s Help in Solving the Cold Case Murder of Jesse Crooks

- On August 19th, 2004 at 9:22PM Jesse Crooks, was murdered near the intersection of intersection of Slauson Avenue and Central Avenue in the County of Los Angeles. Jesse was driving westbound on Slauson Avenue, approaching Central Avenue when a burgundy SUV or Van occupied with multiple individuals pulled alongside Jesse’s white GMC Jimmie. The investigation revealed at least two individuals shot into Jesse’s vehicle as he was driving. The murder investigation went cold and within the last couple of years, several witnesses have come forward with new information. During the initial 2004 investigation witnesses at the time sat down with members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Forensic Artist team to provide a representation of the two of the suspects. Investigators have since identified new witnesses on additional suspects who have also sat down with members of the Forensic Artist team to provide representation of the two last unknown suspects. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals in the forensic sketches and any information on the murder of Jesse Crooks.
