    NYC remotored some FA units with EMD engines and reclassed them I forgot what the class was but the old chicken wire grills was replaced with the same as you fitted, there are pics I have seen of them on the net, so your more correct than you think, i have done four units with numbers1009 onwards, super plowing job done there cheers

    I might’ve missed it in your explanation, but is the plow apparatus a true replica of full-sized equipment? Or is its design peculiar to model-train needs?

      Oh, it's just something I threw together back in high school decades ago, but it's fun send it out still. The FA diesel alone probably works just as well 😅

      Really cool idea! Those actuators and controllers are really reasonably priced too! I like the little pocket sized push button controllers!
