- Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) conducts crash tests on roadside safety devices at the Institute's Proving Grounds Research Facility in Bryan, Texas. Researchers at the facility, which is A2LA-accredited, work with public agencies and private companies to design, construct, test and evaluate these products.

@@kjacres The wires cut, no coming back from that. Regular guard rails, especially those without a gap at the bottom, is the best alternative. Vs no guardrails at all ofc.
When freeways were first constructed in the USA, they had no barriers of any kind in the medians. Gradually it was realized this was not a good idea.

That music reminded me of Dallas on TV. Those steel fences starting at 9 min have been used here in Finland for at least 50 or 60 yrs.

I always found those things like roadside mail boxes and other things like road caution signs more dangerous in that they enter the vehicle from the windshield. Very interesting.

The semi at the end was the most satisfying. However, I wouldn't want to be in a semi in that situation.
The main reason it was so bad is because the cargo slammed forward into the back of the truck, flattening the whole thing. Otherwise, while it wouldn’t feel good it looked like it may have been “survivable”.
Something tells me that the driver of the truck in the last crash would not survive.

Didnt look that way to me. The cars were still crushed like pop cans and the occupants still felt the full force of the crash.
