Good video, helped me get mine back together after an encounter with a 'larger -than- supposed-to-cut'
branch. As shown upon reassembly the 'timing'of the spur gear/drive gear is important!

Great tutorial, the new gears are around 45 dollars each. You need two, that's $90 plus shipping. I'm going to buy a new trimmer.

The half a turn back on the bolt is not the most efficient way of getting the correct gap in between the blades . A better way is first get slightly broader washers with same size in a hole as last washers fit new locking nuts and bolts as video directed .Then tighten all bolts, then loosen till u can just turn the washer . The sharpness of cut and smoothness of the blade is noticeable and if blade is oiled with somthing like wd40 and even in conjunction with cutting wet hedges and regular adjustment as i mentioned even dull blades often seem to get there sharpness back so long as the trimmer is use on a foliage no thicker than 2.5 or 3mm eny thicker and the blades become to stressed to go back to cutting fur wich is why i have two of those machines and love using them
I had a thurd one but instead of doing the repare above i put the gear box of an 20 year older single sided echo with its blades . My goodness just realised that makes that gearbox and bades nearly 45 years old ... wo echo are the beast last longer than the rest. They were my dads . Of corse the only thing thats ever killed my echos is the death of the ingitions and them being out of stock ( my evl chainsaws reast in peace at the back of tbe garage.)
