Its power was true for me in 2000 when I was a very young man, and it is now in 2020 as my life changes again radically. beautiful song, beautiful feelings still
When I was obsessed with Mission Impossible II as a kid I listened to the entire album an infinite amount of times. I didn't really like all the songs on it & I found this one to be scary at that young age. Definitely a good song though... it's beautiful now🌌🎪💈🎢🎡
The Atmosphere this song creates is really strange. All my adulthood taste in music is basically MII and Matrix soundtrack variation, and I never regret that ❤️
Ditto. Same here we enjoyed most of the songs this n Nyah were different. Just heard butthole surfers they came in. Very fine track. No one take these memories from us. We treasure it.
This is a brazilian song called "Manhã de Carnaval". It is part of the soundtrack of the french movie "Orphée Noir" (Black Orpheus), from 1959, which was made in Brazil.
Is that some cover, or an original piece? This lady sure has no shortage of creativity - I can't believe I'm still discovering awesome songs of hers I didn't know about yet.
It's a cover. "There has been a lot of discussion as to whether "Carnival" is a new song or a cover. The song is a remake of the classic "Manha de Carnaval", which originated from the 1959 film "Black Orpheus". The English lyrics were NOT written by Tori. There are many translations and versions of the lyrics, and this version was just one that was familiar to her. If you look at the credits for the song on the album, they say Carnival is written by Luiz Bonfa/Hugo Peretti/Luigi Creatore/George David Weiss." thedent.com/carnival.html
Hey Melani, thx for info. Are you in U.S? Ive looked for other MI soundtracks on i tunes but have only found the scores not songs from individual artists like for MI(2)...
Holy cow. I did a more traditional cover of this song too without realizing Tori had also covered it! I'd have never imagined coming at it from her angle. Here's mine: th-cam.com/video/0VVcfc30poY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DYfDHPeAW7SFlFrH

Read the novel 2010: Odyssey Two and tell me this song didn't come from the depths of Jupiter.
