My father in law's chili recipe:
1.5-2 lbs ground beef
diced onion, diced bell pepper-sauteed
one can diced tomatoes
one can stewed tomatoes
one can hotel
one can dark kidney beans
one can chili beans
mccormick chili mix
Bring to a boil, turn down and let simmer 2-3 hours.
Enjoy!!!

You can always paint your hutch, maybe black, and change up the hardware, and it will take it out of that farmhouse era. You can even do a wallpaper inside or paint inside also.
You can also remove the doors give a different look
The hutch is super cute--maybe it could be painted and moved to the living room or a bedroom? It would make great toy storage for Oliver!

My thought for your kitchen table to accommodate more people is to get a nook bench area for where the hutch is. And have bench seating. Sits the most people in a smaller space.

Hi Lauren, if you have room in one of your bathrooms, the hutch would look amazing in there with matching towels folded and bathroom accessories. I also think it looks good right where it is. It just needs to be updated so it doesn’t look to be farmhouse. I would paint it black or urban bronze by Sherwin-Williams.

I have a hutch like that. It was too "farmhouse" for my style. So I painted it and took the glass doors off. Now it is my craft hutch. The bottom cabinet holds all the kids craft supplies and the top hold all my stuff.

Painting the hutch and changing the hardware is a good idea! I’ve also seen on Pinterest where you take the doors off the top and it changes the look of it too with open shelves.

Hi Lauren👋🏻 crazy idea, what if you turn around the way your couches and tv are and they face the kitchen instead of that wall that the tv is now? There you could put a fireplace and tv above and would be a bigger space since you want to get rid of the bench and the sitting area would be facing the kitchen and dining room 🫣😁
We’ve tried it. The living room layout won’t work bc it’s not symmetrical 😭 I love the idea though! I also like for people not to have to walk through the center of the living room to get to the kitchen. I need the ideas to keep coming though!! Lol it seems there should be a better layout than what we have
Love all of you sweet Valentine touches Lauren. Maybe get your table & chairs first then see if you have the space for a table of some sort. I think once the new furniture is in there you will know what will look best. Maybe some art from your dad would look good on that hutch wall… 🤷🏻♀️ oh I like Hollies idea of board & batten in your entry to differentiate that space! Maybe just add some pegs to hang items on & a mirror above? I am sure y’all will figure it out.

Maybe putting a gas fireplace on the living room wall on the other side of your stove might work for an easier install and hookup and being in that wall may not take up space in the actual living room area. Hi Lauren. Your Valentine's Day decor came out so cute. I wouldn't get rid of hutch. Maybe store or move it somewhere else because there might be a time where you wish you had one. You can just change up that area and maybe bring back the hutch some other time. I move things around my home too just to have something different. Just a suggestion. Have a great day!

If you’re not feeling the hutch you probably should get rid of it, if you have no where else to put it. I have one similar and decorating it on Holidays to me is so fun. I always take pics and post on Instagram and I change it up every year. Decor channels are turning more to the modern decor but I’m still drawn to antiques and vintage. I still enjoy watching different styles. Nice decor ❤.
