I think NV Entertainment deserves an appreciation too! I love them so much. I respect the company for the trust they have for the girls because they pretty much have a very balanced line distribution and screentime. I wish every company can do justice to all the members and not push heavily only for certain members.
This group is something else, very unique, very clear direction, don't really have a typical main vocal or dancer but they are a unit that harmonizes each other so well. Their B-sides are also really good and the dances are so lovely as always.
We can't really fault the girls for that because (1) young groups like them really have no say as to what they can or cannot wear on their music videos (2) people who grew up without exposure to other cultures will most probably not know anything about those cultures. I grew up in southeast Asia and I have zero knowledge about the Chicana/Chicano culture. I didn't even notice that there is cultural appropriation in the MV and I needed someone to explain it to me. (3) They can't edit the music video, they will have to reshoot it completely which will be impossible given the financial constraints. But at least now they know that something is wrong and I'm sure that they won't wear those outfits again in the whole promotions.

I love them so much. I respect the company for the trust they have for the girls because they pretty much have a very balanced line distribution and screentime. I wish every company can do justice to all the members and not push heavily only for certain members.

This group is something else, very unique, very clear direction, don't really have a typical main vocal or dancer but they are a unit that harmonizes each other so well. Their B-sides are also really good and the dances are so lovely as always.

We can't really fault the girls for that because (1) young groups like them really have no say as to what they can or cannot wear on their music videos (2) people who grew up without exposure to other cultures will most probably not know anything about those cultures. I grew up in southeast Asia and I have zero knowledge about the Chicana/Chicano culture. I didn't even notice that there is cultural appropriation in the MV and I needed someone to explain it to me. (3) They can't edit the music video, they will have to reshoot it completely which will be impossible given the financial constraints. But at least now they know that something is wrong and I'm sure that they won't wear those outfits again in the whole promotions.
