When someone uses the word "Jet", the F-5/T-38 is what pops into my head.
✌😍👍👍
I especially enjoyed the footage of the F-5's landing, taken from the area north of the base. It was about 45 years ago that I was taking pics of NFWS F-5's from that same position.
Might not be the fastest, or ever the most cutting edge. But it is certainly one of the sexiest looking fighters of all time.
Good ol' VMFT-401
Fun fact: VMFT-401 was established back in the 1980s to fly 13 IAI Kfir C.1s leased from Israel, re-designated as F-21As. They only flew 'em for 3 or so years before having to ship all but one back. If I remember right, they started acquiring Tiger IIs by the late 80s as well, eventually fully replacing the Kfirs.
That first one landed hard!
Good video of the very rare MiG-28s!
Beautiful and timeless Fighter ! 👍
Reminds me of the Four Wings of Sand Island from Ace Combat 5! Such a good looking airframe. Also, sheesh that approach speed is fast!
They're such pretty things. Particularly in those color schemes.
A fighter that sounds like a fighter
I know the F-5 Tiger & Tiger II's have fought in combat. Are they still used in combat or just for the adversary missions? It is cool to see the aggressor variation. I also know that in the navy and Air Force they also have aggressor versions of some of the fighter jets. I'm not quite sure if those variations are able to go to combat.
The USA no longer uses them for anything other than training, however there are still a few countries that use them for combat, though they are becoming fewer and fewer with each passing year.
Always a joy to see a MiG-28 flying. Still remember seeing one sending a F-14 to the botton of the sea in a 1980's documentary.
Please, please let this lame old excuse for a joke go already.
The incredible F-5 deserves better.
Now to wait for your ignorant reply? I'll bet you can't resist?
I see two bogeys, make that four!!
When was this unit formed?
F-5s just look like fighters idk how else to say it
I think the first guy that landed was navy because that was an arrival lol
Is this same squadron out of JRB New Orleans?
No, that's a Navy squadron
I thought the same thing but saw marines. The livery looks exactly the same
Wait, are these not T-38 Talons? I swear they look exactly the same.
