What's the range on this thing? Do you have to be standing directly behind or would 2-3 feet be okay? Because someone broke into my apartment building copying an rfid card. Management won't believe me it's the RFID PROX ACS
@@dankmheems290 You gotta be damn close my dude. You pretty much have to be touching the card to get a good read with most copiers, and as you can see he actually touches the card in the video. There are theoretical attacks possible at longer ranges but its way more inconsistent and requires large equipment, such as an antenna that is typically 12"x12" or larger, a laptop connected to it, etc. 2-3ft is very far for this kind of attack. Its more likely someone who is otherwise trusted that had easy physical access (hoping a fence, leaving window open, etc) or some other standard means to gain entry somewhat covertly like an old tenant's card that wasn't deactivated properly. If they did actually gain access with a cloned card, they probably cloned it either right at the point of entry by placing a sniffer/copier on the reader itself to ensure a successful read (same basic methodology as a credit card skimmer on an ATM) or they obtained a card, temporarily or permanently, thru other means and simply copied it at their leisure. Remote attacks just aren't even close to something most burglars would be motivated and capable of doing, especially when there are so many easier ways to trespass and obtain commodities.
@@TheAechBomb that one will work but another thing to note.. the copier worked with the included cards and keyfobs only. it did not work with other purchased rewrite-able cards
i bought 3 in 3 different places.. forget it... I'm surprised that it works in this short movie..... I tried with the same 125khz HID card... First device not reaction at all, the second and third it does not work...

Hotels deactivate key cards after you check-out and the token becomes invalid even if you kept the card
