hey can u make a build for a Chaos Mage build (light/dark mage combo build) need the best possible setup (can also include any dlc weapons/codes/veil if needed or available as i have them all) ive been trying to figure it out myself for awhile im endgame and in NG+ working towards the queen codes since i have all the successor codes already from first playthrough as well as The Queen code, but i need help coming up with a combo build that can build up ichor well with a light weapon and dishout damage up close or far with magic if needed
Ign is full of shit and identity politics. If they say a game is bad, then that means the women in the game have titties and arent butt fuck ugly. And creators didnt bow and kowtow to their sjw shit. Nothing to do with gameplay.
Timestamps Strength 1:29 Prometheus 2:06 Eos 2:38 Fionn 3:03 Queen's Breath 3:29 Dark Knight 3:49 Warrior 4:07 Ishtar (The best, if you're not using Final Journey from Queenslayer) 4:44 Demeter 5:05 Hades Dexterity 5:54 Queenslayer (the best all-around blood code for a martial build) 6:39 Mercury 7:09 Prometheus 7:24 Assassin 7:51 Survivor 8:25 Queen's Claw (excellent) 8:51 Scathach 9:21 Heimdall (One of the best dexterity blood codes) 9:54 Hephaestus 10:16 Scout Willpower 11:18 Harmonia (one of the the two best willpower blood codes) 11:37 Queen's throat (the other best willpower blood code, the absolute best for a pure caster) 12:32 Artemis (Good hybrid build, if you wish to implement melee attacks) 13:12 Hunter 13:18 Darkseeker 13:25 Queen's Ribcage (Good alternative for Artemis) 13:40 Isis (Good all-around willpower blood code, just not great) 14:08 Queen (All-around good choice for a dark caster, possibly the best hybrid build blood code) Light 15:22 Darkseeker (Good early, bad later on) 15:45 Eos (very good for a hybrid build) 16:15 Queen's Breath (Good if you mix it with a strength-based weapon) 16:38 Queen's Throat (The best go-to blood code for light magic) 17:25 Ishtar (good for a hybrid) 17:54 Demeter (See Ishtar) 18:30 Queen (All-around decent stats. Allows you to use light and dark magic together. Just not as good as Queen's Throat)
SPOILER! Idk the queens rib cage is really good, I’m in enhanced new game plus 2 level 185 n I’m 1 or 2 shooting everything. I just made it to the ruins area where mido first awoke and well I beat the 1 boss the executioner guy with 5 hits of the blood strike single hit from breath (I forgot name) I’ve been struggling as queen slayer n this is a HUGE differerence. But I haven’t gotten throat yet cause I did other 2 endings first, once I beat the game this time I’ll have all trophies.
Same. I've played literally every other souls-like, and beaten them, and this game is great in comparison to all of them. In fact, I'd probably easily put it in my top 5 souls-like games, maybe even top 3. Honestly, the only major gripe I have with the game is lack of PvP, but I'll get over it.
My absolute favorite thing about this game is that you can change your build on the fly. Like if you, for whatever reason, want to change builds mid boss battle you can.
First. Thank you for all of the Code Vein content. I'm absolutely loving the game and this channel. So many people / channels are trashing this game and it doesn't deserve it
Yeah.Way too many people are trashing the game by trying to find lame "gameplay" excuses to look down on it when their real problem is the game's anime aesthetics. Bunch of hypocrites really and it's very easy to spot their bullshit if someone actually has played the game and is open minded about it. The game sure has its share of flaws but i think most of them are due to the game's AA budget. I can only imagine what these devs would do if they had a much bigger budget. This game is already a serious canditate for GOTY for me.
@@sekaikage There's absolutely nothing at all wrong with linear game designs. Even the first Dark Souls was in fact very, very linear. No, the second half of the game did not open up, it gave you multiple linear paths to choose what order you wanted to do them in. That's not open ended. Dark souls 2 is much the same but at least it's consistent throughout (Dark Souls 1 *does* have massive shortcuts, but are shortcuts the same as being open? In the terms of like open world? No, not even remotely.) So in terms of "this kind of game" (Souls-likes) they've done a phenomenal job. I've never been one shot in New Game plus while using anything but blood codes that are a bit lower in vitality. The difficulty up in New Game plus is actually completely optional, and you can turn it back down even if you opt in for the start of your next cycle, at any time during that cycle. If it's really that hard for you... I don't know man, maybe use some of those defensive buffs, they seem to exist for a reason unlike Dark Souls 3 armor. The Cathedral was labyrinthian as all hell and I agree with you, my least favorite area in the game. That being said, even that isn't the worst once you've found your way. It introduces you to the mechanics it wants you to use as you go along, rather than immediately expecting you to look for drop off points and alternative routes from the get go, it lets you get going and then presents you with one puzzle at a mistle (so dying literally warps you back to it to try again if you wandered off and found nothing) and only after you solved that one puzzle to find the ladder up does it start opening routes that put forks in the road vertically. It's frustrating, it sucks, but it's actually designed to be more fair than I'd _personally_ like to give it credit for. (Still a really un-fun area, but I can appreciate the design of it.) Almost all cutscenes save for ones with the successors which require input for reasons of making a decision towards the ending and blood codes you receive are skippable. That's a total non-issue and cutscenes have been an absolute staple of storytelling in games since... hell, I can't remember many games that didn't have them since the PS2/Xbox (not 360, the one before that) and Gamecube console era. Be thankful that making them skippable is commonplace now much more than it was back then. There's nothing wrong with having a lot of cutscenes to tell a story, especially when they can just be skipped. When it comes to spells and the like, they really aren't meant to be *completely* built around in general, hence why you need to deal melee damage in order to rebuild your ichor, and land drains (charged, backstab, parry, combo) in order to expand your ichor cap until the next rest if you want to throw out a lot of more powerful ones in succession. It makes sense that the early game would try and get you accustomed to this. The spells are powerful enough for their areas if you are using them in the right blood codes with the right scaling, but of *course* they aren't meant to be too powerful until later on, or do you not have _anything_ against the "easy modes" that spellcasting builds usually are in the Dark Souls series? Massive burst damage at range *should* come with some drawback or build up in souls-like games to make sure the player *actually* has to play it! The voice acting is actually pretty good- admittedly, I have seen instances where the dubbing is quite obvious, or that inflection could have used a *little* more work but hey, every game these days seems to have one line or another that's cringey or memeable. Really though, I struggle to think you've payed much attention to the game if you've played it at all. If you did play it, did you do so simply with the intention of providing some credence to your already decided critical view? Because I tell you what, as much as I'm defending what you've said I *do* have some problems with it too. Like how animation of the mouth seems completely unavailable for in game models. Kind of jarring handing out gifts and being thanked or listening to characters comment on the restored vestiges of themselves or people close to them via ventriloquy. Or how few varieties of Lost there are. It's hard to even call them pallet swaps, as in many cases it's literally the same models and colors. Hell, even in places with pretty damn unique types of Lost like the Cathedral and crypts, you'd think they might oh I don't know, at least incorporate them into future areas to even out the rehashing? The enemies get really same-y really quickly, which is unfortunate. Or maybe just how convoluted the backtracking is? You mean to tell me that side quests for an area only ever become available *after* I beat that area's boss? And progress through stages which often times don't advance until a later point in the game, but don't notify you at all of their availability with no way to track them? Yeesh. Its these kinds of flaws and "flaws" that make people who like the game skeptical of people who claim they hate it. You are complaining about pretty much the most common but have seriously nothing to add aside from that. "Cutscenes are a non-issue in literally every game that has them, but if it helps me bash on anime-souls I might as well act like they're actually unpleasant and I couldn't just skip them!" Meanwhile completely missing out on the fact that- for a translated game the English voice actors aren't doing the worst job. I've seen better, Tales of Berseria had some fucking phenomenal English VA. But... I've also seen much, much worse. Disgaea games at this point for me all have a "that one character" that *MAKES* me put the game into Japanese VA just to tolerate! Still, a real topic of discussion or issue I could even realistically see people having is never really in the arguments made against it. Similarly... it's as though no one *ever* dares say they dislike the art style for fear of being dismissed. Here's the thing, I like the game, but would prefer it not have such a bright filter on everything. Hence why I even went so far as to mod it out to a less plastic-y, bright world. I find that it runs just a little bit in conflict with the gritty, vampirism post-apocalypse vibe to have every outline glowing and shiny. That doesn't mean I hate the game, it's actually really, really fucking good from a gameplay standpoint. The controls are solid and responsive, each weapon type is pretty satisfying to use when used properly, the spells have just the right amount of kick to satisfy my love of mage archetypes in games but also not too strong to make me feel obligated to do so in order to get by things easier. It's a *good* game, and it's okay for you not to like it. I'm not trying to change your mind with this. I'm just trying to politely ask, after all the reasons above, that you not go around trying to change other people's opinions or contradict them just to assert that your opinion is correct when- by definition, an opinion can neither be right or wrong. *PERIOD.* So I'm not going to tell you to shut up and enjoy it or any such nonsense, but kindly have a nice day and... I don't know, maybe give it another try? If you feel like it of course. Who the fuck would I be to press you on it after all..?
I absolutely looooove your Queen’s Gambit build! I took off the stun effects and replaced them with passives and effects that support dark gifts because I wanted to use abilities like Purging Thorn, but I still hit like a Mack truck! All in all, your builds are legit so definitely keep up the good work! Maybe you can even make a Queen build?
Queenslayer is indeed the strongest blood code, by far. I would even say, it's so strong it needs to be nerfed. Final journey + Fatal surge is game breaking.
For general exploring and fighting through levels it is not the best. Even with gift extension unless you are rushing to the next mistle you wont make it a lot of the time. Just have to be smart when to use it if your using it for general exploring. However, boss fights is another story entirely, it is the best blood code hands down for bosses, at least for non caster types. Smart to have two builds. One for going through levels and general exploring and a Queenslayer build specifically for bosses.
@@canuckjustin7761 Fair enough. Queenslayer is not the best in a first playthrough as, indeed, you spend a lot of time exploring and learning the map layout. But after NG+, as enemies get stronger, final journey is still very strong even during "exploration". The 4 min 30 duration is quite high and it's more than enough to reach the next mistle in most zone while killing most enemies in your way. And you gain quick step even with 2h weapons, you tank hit better and kill things way faster. In other words, exploration is safer as you are less likely to be killed by enemies.
@@vinceunknown1935 It depends what weapon you are leaning towards. 1H Swords, Polearms & and Bayonetts work well with dex build. For me, I like to run Scout blood code due to its large weight limit allowing me to have a spear while still being quick, plus it has nice stats. Spears are good in general because they have good range and stagger enemies very easy. If you're running scout blood code you have the added benefit of being able to have quick mobility too which is just the icing on the cake and should make it so you're very hard to hit. This channels spear build is very close to what I run for normal exploration. Then for boss fights I switch to Queenslayer because final journey is that good. For bosses I like to combine Gift Extension + Final Journey + Bridge to Glory + Overdrive + Fatal Surge although Fatal Surge could be considered overkill, and is not really necessary. You'll have no regeneration if you use Fatal Surge but if you combine all those buffs you can kill bosses in seconds.
As much as i really enjoy the possibility to switch blood codes, i personnally have two favorites: Queenslayer: indeed the best in terms of martial builds, with great stats that match very well with my sword along with the possibility to use virtually any buff. Plus it's the original blood code of our character, so it's nice that it works so well. Scatiach: My beloved one. What to say? Allow me to lauch destructive spells with high ichor pretty close to any other caster blood code, while having more than decent combat stats with either sword, bayonets and halberds (specially when choosing the righ ones). Effective, fun, polyvalent, and inhnerited from that amazingly cute Emily... Mention also to Eos, just because of the insane boosting it gives us (along with being Io's code for .. sake)
5: Ishtar High mind scaling means bug damage with Road to Glory. Really just buff based dps, and good for str builds. 4: Queenslayer Used to be #1, but some better blood codes came out and final journey got nerfed HARD, and its mind just isn’t enough to reach god dps with road to glory. Still amazing, and road to glory can bosskill super well against anyone not named Blade Bearer/Cannoneer, Hellfire Knight, Ice Queen or Lord of Thunder. 3: Vali Basically Ishtar for dex builds. Super lopsided spread, but still amazing. Road to glory will multiply your damage by around 1.5x 2: Fionn Red Shoes. Makes hard bosses easy. Infinite staggers with Huge Hammer and shockwave, and good surprisingly good scaling for buffs. 1: Surt Absolute power, can kill some bosses in seconds. Your only hope against the non Hellfire Knight dlc bosses. Despite having c+ willpower, it can reach nearly 10000 damage with its fire whirlpool skill with the help of a good blood veil, and the high hit count will stagger some bosses you otherwise would barely be able to.
2022 still play it i want that platinum trophy love the game but multiplayer is gone i never get summoned anymore i still need 28 more people to help :'(
I found berserker to be the best strength scaling from the start it has A strength scaling if you are doing a strength build ichor shouldnt matter you aren't doing a strength mind build just solid strength with berserker you get all strength and 10 ichor which can be used for 2 buffs or abilities later on it can be replaced with queen slayer and even later hades if you want to add ichor to them with all 3 having all strength passives you can even get S+ on strength scaling
Feel like a great combo for Harmonia has been missed, use *cleansing light* from queen slayer with *Supernatural Blood* from Harmonia and you've basically got free spells (gifts), or spells that cost a very small amount of health if you're casting a lot quickly.
I've been using Hades ever since I got it lol i also upgraded my Argent Wold Blade to +10. Its funny to walk around almost one shotting everything, especially since I'm collecting all vestiges for the best ending
Fun fact: I wanted to run a DEX build in the beginning of the game because I liked bayonets, then realized how little I actually shoot them, went to one handed swords, thought I was running a STR build. But then found out I've been doing DEX build this entire time with Queenslayer and Louis' and eventually Jack's swords.
As someone who's been playing video games since I was around 5 years old, I thought I was pretty decent at them, so I figured I should try a souls style game. I'm ashamed to say, I have trouble getting past the second area. My confidence as a gamer has been shattered.
I was also surprised not seeing Atlas mentioned, not even ANYWHERE in the blood codes, is it that bad? Having Strength and Vitality S surely helped me (unsure if the boost is a bit overkill), but Ichor capacity is simply awful, maybe that's the reason isn't even considered to be an option.
Low Ichor capacity, cannot use Bridge to glory, therefore bad, plus you don't need vitality so high since doging is strictly better than getting hit. Strength scaling is good enough at A or B+ Tbh passives will get you the rest of the way.
Man, I completely forgotten about this. But having tested out FightinCowboy's Atlas build in Code Vein, it's very viable for a playthrough. I'd even say it's kinda OP, and the game stopped getting updates before I left my original comment. So I know it works
I have a canonical approach to combat and I don't really know RPG lingo but I find it easier for me to have some versatility with Demeter and Ishtar as the base. Eos too but it limited my weapon choices so I ditched it as soon as the I mastered the gifts I wanted to inherit. I used up two of the passive gift slots to raise the stats for Demeter so I have all of them ranked at least B. That gave me a lot of options for gear and active gift loadouts. Same with Ishtar though I think Willpower and Fortitude only went as far as C+. Since I rely on gaining Ichor quickly it's a must for me to have Weapon Drain Rating Up. I gained one ichor with every strike. These three active gifts are always in my loadout: Cleansing Light, Circulating Pulse, and Bridge to Glory. I don't really aim to finish off bosses quickly rather trying to balance attacking with self-preservation. Before you guessed it, one-handed sword user here. Halberds too but only the lighter ones like Assassin's Sickle.
Just wanted to hop in and say thanks for the content. I personally managed to go through the game rather smoothly by using your Immortal Blade guide, although I did find that for some bosses, I had to swap out the Zweihander for the Broadsword just to trade some of my defensive strength for dodge capabilities (looking at you, Virgin Born). But I had a blast with the build regardless and on playthroughs where I try different builds, I opt to jump back to Atlas/Fionn +zweihander whenever the going gets a bit too tough and to be able to untilt a bit.
Thank you a lot for this! I was wondering if you could do a support/tank build of some sort. When I play online, I don't want to carry the person, but I would like to keep them alive without being a burden.
There's an ability that improves their healing, forget what it's called but it's good for that. I don't think there's many defensive buffs that help other people though. For a more support based build there's some good healing buffs though
There's also a gift, i can't remember which code it's in, but auto-heal! it'll charge your hp up-front and store an emergency heal for your partner, if they get low, it'll automatically heal them.
Thanks I'm just now really getting into it and i wanna take my time and do it right. Trying to run two handed with mage mix I haven't quite figured it out yet.
I thought Atlas would've at least got a mention in the strength section of the video, even if it's not good, it couldve been talked about with why its bad like the assassin did in thee dex section
Cayden Lewis I feel like atlas gives you raw damage and is not buff dependent which is more of the way I’d rather play. 2 hands hitting over 2000 (unbuffed lvl 120) in some cases. I wonder if he doesn’t mention it because atlas does not fit into the categories he outlines but it let me solo my first playthrough very comfortably. I don’t dick around with gifts too much though other than a range attack sometimes.
Honestly, i used Atlas with a Zweihander build on my first playthrough, Swapping to higher tiers of similar codes on the way up. It's not a bad code, it's just early game. Essentially, if you like Berserker, swap out to Atlas once you get it, and then swap out to the next STR/Heavy Weight code you get ^_^
10:30 Scout has *the* best weight for Quick base mobility apart from Ranger and Queen's Throat, neither of which have particularly high STR or DEX stats (unlike Scout).
Queenslayer all the way. fortification trans on both gear. doesnt matter how u play u will get a lot more DPS and Quick mobility just by using final journey. top it up with swift destruction+bridge to glory and youll be casting the most painful spells (11k any barrage) regardless of the type and still hits like a truck with overdrive (srsly 6k damage on basic attacks and 15k on charged attack r no joke even on ng+)
loved it but i missed the Blood code Atlas you get from Yakumo. with great damage and health stats whereby with the night thorn blood veil you’ll have normal movement speed on 2 handed weapons where you can hit quicker and harder. next to that it has an A+ strength stat, D+ on both dexterity and mind, C on willpower A+ on vitality and C+ on Fortitude.
I've stopped using Cleansing Light, personally. My main use of the skill was to offset the health loss for using Blood Sacrifice to pre-buff but Final Journey already heals you to full once you use it so it stopped having any use in my build. It's a strong defensive buff though.
@@ForeverLaxx I've found it's saved me in a pinch. As someone who prefers health regeneration over actual healing it works really well for me in sticky fights added with the HP regen I get from kills.
Not gonna lie biggest problems I have are the basic ineffectiveness of noncheese bayonet's in the fast paced action(having to stand still take aim charge the shot) when they can just whiff, and the fact everything is so buff based. Buffs should give you a small advantage over a short period for burst while nonbuffed builds should be slightly lower power but more consistent damage. Perhaps make a video about people who want to forgo that because honestly 90% of the first half of this video might as well be "get all stats to B and use buffs there you go".
Most slept on strength code is atlas. No you don't have a lot of icor but you can run heavier weapons and mid weight veils and be in normal mobility. It meats the req for adrenaline out of the gate and had very good defense. A very solid choice for strength
Physical strength does not simply rely on strengh alone, buffs from light gifts affect the final damage as well. Most people assumed maxing str is the only factor for increasing strength, however without concentration, the buffs will scale down your damage
@@seyconrad9757 I know but also their are builds that can do large amounts of damage without having to worry about multiple buffs. And honestly builds that you only have to buff once or twice can be just as good if not better bc you're not having to manage rebuffing while still maintaining a fairly high level of damage.
I can honestly say for those that want all around the best build for close combat n dark gift caster the queens blood code that you get at end game is the one u want to go for and actually probably one of the best way to beat any of the bosses of how you want and taking advantage of their weaknesses same for pretty much any other monsters in game.
@@Kumire_921 I'm using Harmonia and it seems kinda op. Just enhance ur sword with crimson and u get like 1 ichor per hit with ur sword, it's really nuts
Alex Deva it is but after trying it for few days I actually found it to be not a good blood code all around. It has too many restrictions to the point it’s actually more headache trying to cast and Cain ichor back because of its poor str dex scaling and few others. You can’t even build a let’s say str/dark gift user it’s actually hard and impossible as you’ll only be using weak weapons that do very little amount of damage. Queen’s blood code is actually the best str or dex/ dark gift playstyle as you can still able to do massive dark gift damage but also having a strong weapon with buffs that can help u do more damage if you want to get up close combat.
NikkaNoob yeah but you can do it with Queen’s blood code as well while also having not only amazing dark gift damage but also really good Str or dex weapon damage with buffs.
Prometheus, is the best blood class. I have made thru 3rd star with it. Note: that 5%+ damage every hit plus 40%+ base damage(from Swift destruction and 2H Mastery)and a Oni bane= boss killer. Also FYI i have quick movement with the oni bane and shade veil.
It's terrible in comparison to Heimdall and Queenslayer but ok you do you bro, the max bonus you get from blade dance is much lower than other boosts so to make the most of it you need a fast hitting weapon so a 1H is better everyone, use Oni bane with Queens breath, Demeter or Eos instead as you can use bridge to glory which is a must have for any 2H build that gives you 50% of your base damage as bonus damage. Your math is wrong on Prometheus, it's just a 5% increase to damage per hit till you reach 40% which is the max.
@@deathstar6998 I believe Blade dance has no increase limit, until times out. as for the 40%+ base, that is from 2h-mastery and Swift Destruction. so even if we say that BD has 40% max ceiling. thats 80%+ damage. normally i use Dragon Lunge since its the one with the most single hit damage.edit(if i have enough ichor I'll try to use Overdrive for an additional 25%+ along with elements for every boss but not for the final( all elements are only .8 effective) second edit: Glory Bridge is 50% of your Light rating from the veils. in other words the most you can get with light gift rating is like 1k plus bonus damage.) double check your info~ codevein.wiki.fextralife.com/Bridge+to+Glory
Thank you for including artemis its fucking op ive played newgame+ hardcore it melts enemies. I use iphocours ice, volatile storm , dusk edge and the basic fireball from caster and use melee gifts after that did canoneer and blade bearer second try solo newgame + iphorous ice easily spammable and the blood veil ogre.
Queen, and Queenslayer, specially with Queenslayer when you positively, absolutely, definitely, have to eviscerate a boss in 3 minutes and failure is not an option. just like how you sucker punched the queen before taking a quick dirt nap.
Honestly the levels themselves aren't too bad at least having AI and being familiar with soulslikes. You can pretty much pick whatever you want and don't need to even mix gifts from different codes or use buffs. As far as bosses I used a different code for just about every boss(except for when there's 2 back to back without getting a new code) which was the vast majority excluding ones clearly not built for bosses. But the big 3 boss killers are queenslayer, hemdall and eos cuz of their ultimate buffs
Can you make a table about the power scaling for each rank. Starting from E to S+, since the scales multiply the effects on damage skills and support skills differently in a quantitative way
The problem is that the scaling isn't consistant. I've tried to do the math a bunch of times. Most of the time, scaling isn't worth worrying about for damage. Just try and meet the minimum requirements you need for all the gear and gifts you want to use. Your Blood Veil choice will be more important for your Gift's damage.
Ive never been one to put much stock into reviews but I was always skeptical about getting this game. Currently caught the game with all DLC for $40. All I can say is I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t buy this game sooner
consejo de vida, descarga pirata, prueba y luego apoya al producto y disfruta nunca hagas caso, jamas de los jamases a las reseñas, siempre da el beneficio de la duda
Also think Ishtar is the best for weapon damage besides using Queenslayer for 1 hit kill. I dont see the scaling making a lot of difference for weapons in this game besides when you can or not use them because of it. I think the most important stat is actually weight and buffs when talking about high end gameplay. Dont agree using queen's throat because its too limited on weapons, even if you use less ichor when focused because you will be focused for too little time compared to the rest of the fight. For me its best getting a fast weapon with devour for getting back ichor and focusing on shots from far for dark mage, since they are very slow, contrary to light mage. Thus Harmonia seems to be superior on dark gifts all round.
game is really underrated, probably because of the "weeb anime" atmosphere which many "official" reviewer is very picky with. and the usual "man dress properly but female is all sexy and skimpy clothes", i mean this is japan and at this point you should know what you expect, just like in the west where all the player is always "semi bald space marine" face and hairstyle with this badass tough guy attitude.
quietly Gumas nooo. Dude i am a weeb. Game suuucks. Combat is terrible movement feels like everybodys golf avatar movement. Story is trash. Its dumb fuck easy making builds irrelevant. One of worse games ive played in years and i fucking love anime.
I love queenslayer with a halberd, but i just wish that the highest base damage with good dex scaling wasnt that arget wolf polearm which feels slower than the obliterator axe
Im curios what level you are? I am lvl 50 and am currently at the fortress and im slowly managing but they are killing me in about 2 hits. Also im only doing about 500 damage with the enduring crimson+5. Am i just that bad or am to low level?
One thing that's killing me just because I'm Irish is how everyone is saying Fionn, since a lot of the names are coming from mythos in fairly sure its based on the Irish Fionn, but who am I to expect people to pronounce Irish names XD Anyway first channel I've seen for code vein after really getting into the game and loving the build guides
let's see... STR C+ DEX C MIND D+ WILL C VIT A FORT B+ So A vitality, which is borderline useless. abyssmal mind so no light spells or paladin buffs. Not great physical stats or willpower. Fortitude is done. Too much work to make it work, with no real reason to do it.
@@Ryne91 you are not meant to use the code itself. you meme around with the active using other ones. Honestly I'm fine with this. Imagine if Queenslayer was the exclusive one?
@@yargolocus4853 oh, I didn't mean a preorder exclusive should be top tier. Just seems odd that it would be that bad. That said, I expected it to be pretty low considering the preorder weapons are outclassed by the time you reach the second boss.
Do you have a speed build? I want to get in close but have quick mobility, I'd rather not use a bayonet tho, I'm upto the map that's like a royal bright castle if that helps
I love this game, but I hate the stat system, it feels so restrictive, the whole thing where the main character can learn any skill of every npc, feels restrictive by having requirements on armor, it wouldn’t be bad if you could individually increase your stats, cuz I’m a strength build, but I feel like I’m limited in what armor I can wear, my favorite armor is the hound type, but it requires a c in dex, so I’m forced to wear other uglier armor
Probably not the rigjt place to say this but DLC wise i just wish they'd let us download or buy the Artbook digitally for the PC i mean come one why does the PS4 get to have all the fun
The game is awesome.... IGN is just trash talking or it is not the games fault that all their testers are soakers... ( they do now know how to dodge...)
So I'm using a strength setup right now and, correct me if I'm wrong my fellow revenants, if I focus on light gift buffs I could do more dmg than focusing on raw power through scaling alone?
The builds work fine in ng+ even on enhanced difficulty. The big thing is making sure your weapons and veils are maxed a long with having your passives and actives as optimised as you can
@@Roguhr lmao I for got this was the internet where if you have a opinion ppl say its dumb or automatically down your view with out showing numerical proof but I thank sey conrad and Zachery R for answering back like a person with a legitimate IQ so I'll try some of the builds and see
I noticed you didn't mention anything about "quality" blood codes, what do you think the best blood codes are for scaling both STR and DEX, or is that not worth doing in this game? I guess you're already trying to get both strength and dex pretty high anyway for buffs, so you're pretty much doing quality scaling anyway.
Because it is easily the best buff in the game. It has the duration of Adrenaline and the power of Overdrive with no catch unlike Overdrive. It's almost always worth building.
@@lesbravo634 Indeed. Bridge to Glory is the most useful buff in the game. It doesn't wear off if you get hit like Overdrive, it doesn't drain your HP like Sacrificial Edge, and it doesn't *kill* you like Final Journey. And unlike the last two it isn't bound to its starting Blood Code, so everyone uses it on all their Melee builds. Only builds that don't benefit from it are caster builds.
There’s actually a 3rd ending. The true good ending is basically you restoring all of the successors plus also Lo’s memories. The good ending is just restoring all the successors memories but not Lo’s and ofc the bad ending is not restoring any of the successors or Lo’s.
@@myohmy7593 yeah I got the true ending and the bad endings so I got queen/Hades blood code, got queen claw and stuff but still have yet to get all the blood code achievement. Working on the average ending now
You could have forgot to pick up a code. Thinking demeter most likely which you can pick up after all 4 successors have turned to dust only. So it's a bad route only code from what I can tell.

hey can u make a build for a Chaos Mage build (light/dark mage combo build) need the best possible setup (can also include any dlc weapons/codes/veil if needed or available as i have them all) ive been trying to figure it out myself for awhile im endgame and in NG+ working towards the queen codes since i have all the successor codes already from first playthrough as well as The Queen code, but i need help coming up with a combo build that can build up ichor well with a light weapon and dishout damage up close or far with magic if needed

"don't believe IGN, game is great" that deserve a like
Ign is full of shit and identity politics. If they say a game is bad, then that means the women in the game have titties and arent butt fuck ugly. And creators didnt bow and kowtow to their sjw shit.
Nothing to do with gameplay.

"Don't believe IGN, game is great." - couldn't agree more.
having trust in IGN is mistake in the first place
IGN will say this is trash but say COD is GOTY worthy...they can suckmadickfromdaback
Same. I've played literally every other souls-like, and beaten them, and this game is great in comparison to all of them. In fact, I'd probably easily put it in my top 5 souls-like games, maybe even top 3. Honestly, the only major gripe I have with the game is lack of PvP, but I'll get over it.
Terrible leveldesign and wonky hitboxes... yeah, surely a great game.

@@bladeofmird I felt similarly about Darksiders 3 to be honest.
(Still a really un-fun area, but I can appreciate the design of it.)
Almost all cutscenes save for ones with the successors which require input for reasons of making a decision towards the ending and blood codes you receive are skippable.

All in all, your builds are legit so definitely keep up the good work! Maybe you can even make a Queen build?
Phenomenal guide. I can tell you put a lot of time into this. Thank you
Final journey, final surge, overdrive, bridge of glory and adrenaline.
I deal 9k damage per hit with argent wolfsword
Queenslayer is indeed the strongest blood code, by far. I would even say, it's so strong it needs to be nerfed. Final journey + Fatal surge is game breaking.
@@ClawsOfLyco Okay. Any good arguments?
@@canuckjustin7761 Which do you recommend for map exploration? dex build and which blood code would be great and weapon?
Finally, thanks a lot fextralife for making COde vein content
As much as i really enjoy the possibility to switch blood codes, i personnally have two favorites:
Queenslayer: indeed the best in terms of martial builds, with great stats that match very well with my sword along with the possibility to use virtually any buff.
Mention also to Eos, just because of the insane boosting it gives us (along with being Io's code for .. sake)
5: Ishtar
High mind scaling means bug damage with Road to Glory. Really just buff based dps, and good for str builds.
4: Queenslayer
Used to be #1, but some better blood codes came out and final journey got nerfed HARD, and its mind just isn’t enough to reach god dps with road to glory. Still amazing, and road to glory can bosskill super well against anyone not named Blade Bearer/Cannoneer, Hellfire Knight, Ice Queen or Lord of Thunder.
3: Vali
Basically Ishtar for dex builds. Super lopsided spread, but still amazing. Road to glory will multiply your damage by around 1.5x
2: Fionn
Red Shoes. Makes hard bosses easy. Infinite staggers with Huge Hammer and shockwave, and good surprisingly good scaling for buffs.
1: Surt
Absolute power, can kill some bosses in seconds.

Wish the multiplayer couldve been more flexible and free.
Feel like a great combo for Harmonia has been missed, use *cleansing light* from queen slayer with *Supernatural Blood* from Harmonia and you've basically got free spells (gifts), or spells that cost a very small amount of health if you're casting a lot quickly.
Matthew Bentley holy shit... dude thank you
I think blood sacrifice is less risky and doesn't require 20 ichor, but it's better for incidental casting
@@fakeigniz13 yeh true, the combo I said was really good for bosses, but is pretty bad for exploring now I'm trying it out in the world.
you need to slow down between casts to do that, and blood sacrifice is more efficient ichor. I use them together and it works great.
my mind has been fucking blown
Thanks for all you did~! You guys are highly appreciated!
Thanks so much for the guides I’m gonna miss your code vein videos
I never believed in IGN. I do what I want.
As someone who's been playing video games since I was around 5 years old, I thought I was pretty decent at them, so I figured I should try a souls style game. I'm ashamed to say, I have trouble getting past the second area. My confidence as a gamer has been shattered.
Surprised Atlas wasn't mentioned for strength, I've heard it is a close second for stat spread to queenslayer as far as pure strength
Might've missed it cause my phone, but pretty sure I didn't hear Atlas
U take out alot off fun in my opinion when u watch guides while or before ur first playtrough. It wipes out alot off expirience.
Thanks! Just got game as a holiday gift and this is exactly what I needed!
I use prometheus while I explore and queenslayer for bosses they're working great for me so far
Use Deliverance from the Ishtar blood code. Your partner will literally never die until you do.
Thanks for all the tips! I'll have to try this out as soon as I get back to playing~
@@Roguhr Auto-Heal is on Demeter.
Thanks I'm just now really getting into it and i wanna take my time and do it right. Trying to run two handed with mage mix I haven't quite figured it out yet.
I can’t believe I almost didn’t get this game bc of the ign review. I’m already 75 hours deep lol
I don’t dick around with gifts too much though other than a range attack sometimes.
i thought atlas was one of the best for tanky build too, okey maybe it can't be buffed by everything but.....
Honestly, i used Atlas with a Zweihander build on my first playthrough, Swapping to higher tiers of similar codes on the way up. It's not a bad code, it's just early game. Essentially, if you like Berserker, swap out to Atlas once you get it, and then swap out to the next STR/Heavy Weight code you get ^_^
@@Roguhr the thing is that he talked about good early game classes in this video as well and Atlas still didnt get mentioned at all which I dont get
10:30 Scout has *the* best weight for Quick base mobility apart from Ranger and Queen's Throat, neither of which have particularly high STR or DEX stats (unlike Scout).
Pretty sure final journey just got nerfed, barely lasts a full minute now.
So, Queen's Throat, Ishtar, and Queen seem to be the top three in terms of effective in most build composition blood codes.
Dedicated Queenslayer here. Final Journey and Cleansing Light rocks boss fights. Mix in skills from Prometheus and Mercury.
Queens ribcage kind of outscales queens throat though, while having a better weapons available.
Isn't Harmonia better for a dark gift build?
@@myohmy7593 well I can't use queens blood code until I beat the game anyway -.-
NikkaNoob yeah but you can do it with Queen’s blood code as well while also having not only amazing dark gift damage but also really good Str or dex weapon damage with buffs.
Could you do a best weapons/blood veils for each kind of build?
All I can say is I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t buy this game sooner
consejo de vida, descarga pirata, prueba y luego apoya al producto y disfruta
nunca hagas caso, jamas de los jamases a las reseñas, siempre da el beneficio de la duda
Looking for vestiges to unlock codes and powers isn't my favorite part. So many codes, no idea where to get them without a guide.
I love queenslayer with a halberd, but i just wish that the highest base damage with good dex scaling wasnt that arget wolf polearm which feels slower than the obliterator axe
I love its moveset but it definitely feels slower.
uhh.... wouldn't the best early/mid or even late game code for strength atlas?
now i'm at Ashen Caverns, my favorite now atlas and prometheus
I could be mistaken but doesnt Atlas blood code have an S+ rank in STR scaling?
Yes. Atlas is great early on. Some how I forgot to mention this in the video...
I go with the Hades bloodcode because its great stats then the gifts I use all mastered gifts
Hades very good for Weight Limit.
Caster, Berserker, Scathach? Feel like I'm playing a Fate game....
You forgot Ishtar
I just run ishtar with some heavy hitting spells and argent wolf knight great sword
how good is Final journey now that its duration is 1min? (picked up the game like 9 days ago)
TheLivinggreey neary useless, for a strength build id suggest atlas or fionn, especially if u want to be tanky.
*Laughs in Berserker.*
Juggernaut HAMMER TIME.
You saying that build is better?
Not really. Just mine. :P
Im curios what level you are? I am lvl 50 and am currently at the fortress and im slowly managing but they are killing me in about 2 hits. Also im only doing about 500 damage with the enduring crimson+5. Am i just that bad or am to low level?
where my atlas is ?
One thing that's killing me just because I'm Irish is how everyone is saying Fionn, since a lot of the names are coming from mythos in fairly sure its based on the Irish Fionn, but who am I to expect people to pronounce Irish names XD
Anyway first channel I've seen for code vein after really getting into the game and loving the build guides
I may have missed it, but was Harbinger mentioned. As a preorder exclusive, I wondered how it compared to the others.
let's see...
STR C+
DEX C
MIND D+
WILL C
VIT A
FORT B+
So A vitality, which is borderline useless. abyssmal mind so no light spells or paladin buffs. Not great physical stats or willpower. Fortitude is done. Too much work to make it work, with no real reason to do it.
@@yargolocus4853 thanks for the analysis. Kind of weird the preorder exclusive would suck so bad but with its ability im not surprised.
The problem with going with queens throat is that you have to let **** die.
You shold probably do a video on the best passives next
That's dependent entirely on what blood code you're using
Is there a way to equip the two weapons "Ice Blood" and "Inferno Blade" with the blood code of Fionn or Queenslayer?
RIP final journey sadly
Hehe, I'd been pronouncing it "scat hatch" :3
Do you have a speed build? I want to get in close but have quick mobility, I'd rather not use a bayonet tho, I'm upto the map that's like a royal bright castle if that helps
Atlas is the stongest for strength i think
I love this game, but I hate the stat system, it feels so restrictive, the whole thing where the main character can learn any skill of every npc, feels restrictive by having requirements on armor, it wouldn’t be bad if you could individually increase your stats, cuz I’m a strength build, but I feel like I’m limited in what armor I can wear, my favorite armor is the hound type, but it requires a c in dex, so I’m forced to wear other uglier armor
Is it me or was there no mention of "atlas"?
Is queen slayer better than Prometheus
Any chance you can make a boss guide. Like move sets, weaknesses, do's and dont's etc.?
Quick thing Demeter is not pronounced De Miter it’s DE-ME-TER
game is really good, but scaling is a bit broken, bamco please fix this in an update
( they do now know how to dodge...)
so I like the queens ribcage what's a good build for it?
So I'm using a strength setup right now and, correct me if I'm wrong my fellow revenants, if I focus on light gift buffs I could do more dmg than focusing on raw power through scaling alone?
Correct.
@@Fextralife and here I was just powering thought everything with greatswords.
Oh these builds sound nice and brief well on paper but idk if they'll work well in new game plus
The builds work fine in ng+ even on enhanced difficulty. The big thing is making sure your weapons and veils are maxed a long with having your passives and actives as optimised as you can
A few build works in NG+ plus since a lot more has been placed on offense, doodge has to do with personal skills...
Why wouldn't they work on enhanced difficulty? xD maybe the dumbest thing i've read
@@Roguhr lmao I for got this was the internet where if you have a opinion ppl say its dumb or automatically down your view with out showing numerical proof but I thank sey conrad and Zachery R for answering back like a person with a legitimate IQ so I'll try some of the builds and see
Don't think you've ever mentioned Hermes
one question so can get one of the queen breath and fionn on the same chatcter
Aeterna Noctis/Rot In A Porcelain Dream
Playing blood code and watching is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon
this video its like i play YuGiOh and i hear about stats for cards and what do they do lol
Scaling is outmatched by buffs in every case I have tested.
Hm, why is 'Bridge to Glory' being talked about as if it's the be-all and end-all for buffs for martial builds?
What are these barrage spells you keep talking about, the only light offensive spells I have are the various spikes
Check out the Silver Spellblade Build to see what I mean.
Do you have a 1shot parry build?
Hey fextra, is the blood code achievement possible to obtained? Got the good and bad endings and still have yet to get the blood code achievement
@@randomperson-up5vt that probably it then. I don't think I ever went back there
@@somnus5220 it's just a possibility since I haven't gone through your list of blood codes you have. I know it's easily missable for many.
i have a 100% save ( everything ) and i don’t know what blood set i should use 😣
Depends on your playstyle but I like to use Scout with Bridge to Glory and a bunch of other stuff
I wanna ask a question. Is great sword counted as dual handed?? Or just axe and spear?
@@ClawsOfLyco ohbokay thankss.. its just confuse me because our character wield it on one hand most of the time.
i am in like 50+ hours into the game, and still, don't know if a is better or d?
