Thanks for a wonderful interview with Woolly Wormhead. I used to follow her mystery KAL years and years ago. I fell off the hat-knitting wagon at some point. I would love to get back into knitting hats, especially with the short-row technique. It was quite popular in Denmark 10-15 years ago, everything was made with short-rows. I'd love to give it a go again.
So excited about this new book by Woolly, such incredible designs and how the design and her personal background of studies have led her to where she is today. This is my first encounter of Woolly and wow! What an interesting and beautiful technique. The maps are so clear as to what's happening. My hesitance with short rows is I often get lost of where I am and which way I should be knitting.

Hi Martyn and Woolly. I've never tried german short rows but loving the patterns. I hadn't thought of them in a hat, I just thought they where for garments. This was a lovely interview, I enjoyed listening to Woolly talking about their design process. I usually use Sunday short rows, but I will have to experiment with the German short rows a bit more to see how they compare!

Thanks for the inspiration. I’ve just connected how I can use these ideas on baby knits! Our “plunket” baby singlets and hats are knit sideways in garter, so I’ll be knitting them in colourwork short rows now. Makes it much more interesting 😃❤️

What a great interview with Woolly. I've just started the Flowery scarf by Susanne Ederleh using a kit I bought last month at the EAYF and am loving the shapes the German short rows are making. Woolly's designs look great and I'd love to see her new book & attempt some of her patterns, the short row patterns look amazing and as you said Martyn once you get the hang of what you are doing and how the fabric is produced it really is a fantastic concept. I love the fact Woolly is so inclusive too with including both text and her written "maps" as well. I love Woolly Wormhead hats. I've knitted a few now, fell in love with her 'non traditional' style of beanie. Her designs really ignited a renewed passion for knitting after more than a decade of knitting hiatus, that there were some new exciting patterns out there - she creates the patterns I want to knit. WOOLLY. I cannot seem to grasp short rows. This book seems to spell it out step by step. Practicing swatches and even patterns 🥹from this book I feel would make it possible. I would also then be confident to use short rows in garments. 💕

I cannot seem to grasp short rows. This book seems to spell it out step by step. Practicing swatches and even patterns 🥹from this book I feel would make it possible. I would also then be confident to use short rows in garments. 💕
