      'inability to adapt"......picture of a guy with a bucket of signature picks through several seasons and metas in them.
      riven,zed,ryze,galio,leblanc.
      imo only now he slowed down a bit, playing mid lane at the highest level with several metas in a season for as long as Faker, thats a heck of a run.

      yea it's so crazy to me, what part of inability to adapt correlates to faker, this guy plays assasins, control mages, tanks, bruisers, support mages all in the mid lane throughout his entire career, he's been here since s3 and has been adapting to different metas throught the season winning 3 world titles and 9 lck titles

    Faker's LB went vs AN ENTIRE TEAM DRAFTED TO COUNTER ONLY him and HE STILL ended 4/1/7, hard carrying his failing team mates.
    This is the game you people chose to cite as an example of LoL pros 'inability to adapt'..
    Especially when he went on to to win 2 more world championships after that.
    Irdk what to say..
    That was probably worse than showing DL as an example for 'mechanical gods from other regions'..

      I think it was more of a nod to EDG adapting to Faker and baiting him into the LB pick, having the Morgana counter prepared. Faker played well, but he was put into a situation where he simply couldn't leverage his skill enough to carry. They showed the clip while Forgiven was talking about how you either adapt or you die. So I think that was a good example of EDG adapting to pull out the victory, while SKT deciding to stick to their style and failing.

Your idiotic comment about even putting sneaky above him just speaks ignorance. He was literally the Western Uzi, and that's why the comparison is made. He is one of the reasons why Rekkles is even considered one of the best ADCs in Europe today, as he forced the region to become better to step up to be able to compete against him in lane. But go ahead and compare him to a subpar competition in another region.

Weakest groups of the tournament and was lucky enough to get the wildcard in the quarterfinals, only to get swept in the semis. He hasn’t won anything in his career and that tells a lot. Thing is Caitlyn was his signature pick simply because she's the n1 adc to stomp lane with. He would do that with any adc it's just that as caitlyn it would be easier and more impactful on the game. Now the meta has finally shifted towards adcs in the sense that it's more balanced than ever and a mechanically gifted adc can outplay assassins and actually kill tanks so smurfing or not he sure would be fun to watch nowadays.

    just a little mistake in the video, the clip used in 0:44 where you say the inability to adapt to the meta can be devastating, you showed a clip of faker picking Leblanc, at that time LeBlanc was one of the strongest champs in competitive, hence why faker literally had 0 losses on the champ in his entire career at that time. However the enemy counterpicked it with, Morgana which is a known hardcounter to Leb. There is no correlation ob "inability to adapt to the meta" and that clip. But I guess every video of yours needs a mandatory faker clip so whatever.

    How did u make it so most achievements he had are to be looked at with an asterisk, while the failures are wholly explained by his attitude? I get you are trying to make this interesting first and foremost, but such a black and white narrative about Forg1ven's career is superficially true at best. In every other team sport, managers/coaches and staff on competitive teams are evaluated by the ability to form tactically solid squads, develop talented players and MANAGE THE EGOS OF SUPERSTARS. Somehow, in League, this is completely missing or rather is viewed by the community in a sense that the "toxicity" in a player INHERENTLY causes worse team performance. In my opinion, it is the failure to integrate such players into a productive team environment that causes most of the actual gameplay-related issues. Of course, the player also plays a role in that and rightfully doesn't get away with it for free, but a giant part of the blame has to be put on the org for failing to integrate the talent they brought in by choice.
    In Forg1ven's case, up until Spring 2020, his upside "by far" outweighed his downsides and he should have been an even more defining figure for European League. Instead, most orgs have not learned from H2K's success that year and many talented "toxic" players aren't even given chances by teams to this day. Why was only H2K really able to use the rigid and toxic talent? It was emphasized that he did not change his attitude no matter what while moving teams, so how did so many fail and one beat EDG? That would be, in my opinion, a great angle for a more detailed view of what Forg1ven's legacy in League is.

      Thats a really good point. To me the problem is the LOL league is young, and adapated quickly to the "current trends of things" *kof* SJW *kof* . "Toxicity," which can be perceived as player's own ego and competitiveness has and will always exists in every sports. But League decided really fast to condamn these type of behavior because the "current trends of things" is all about being polite, showing respect, being kind and working hard. You can just take the NBA for exemple, the Nba is like 70+ years old, and back in the days, players were fighting each other on the court, they were taunting, they were even punching the referees sometimes, => they were showing human emotions linked to their competitiveness, willing to win and egos. Now its all bland, because of certain movements that deny these type of behaviors. Nowadays everytime a player show a little bit of frustration towards the refs, his teammates or an opponent, they get Fouled Out + they get finned. Everything is getting bland and talented player that can't keep their emotions/toxicity in check are just eliminated from the game. As Forgiven said, you have to adapt or die. Is it for the better or for the worst? I don't know, you decide.

    • @fotissk3076

      Working with a player like forg1ven would be hell for any team. When you have a team, you have sponsors, you have a roster that you have to rely on, you have payments to make etc so you want things to be as stable as possible. Since you mentioned H2K, I believe they did nothing more than just tolerate a time bomb that was at the top of his game at the time. They also had a very strong roster so chances were that forg1ven would not get mad over his teammates as he was known for.
      But, it is one thing being competitive and another thing destroying a team from the inside with your toxic personality (schalke).
      Let's hypothesize that, right now, forg1ven is a better add than Perkz. Even jankos, his former teammate would chose Perkz over him every time. You know why? Because he knows that in teams things don't always go your way. There are ups and downs even for the best of the best and forg1ven isn't a guy to have around when the team is in its downs.

    • @bartekmostek4850

      This is true for ALL SPORTS. You win by managing the ego's. This happened in overwatch with siinatra as the coaching staff was able to stop his ego from impacting the team so much as to ruin their game. I also would like to say that you should adjust to your players strengths. Look at tsm in siege. They play aggressive, they rush, they force fights. If you want another comparison look at G2 in LOL. The coaches adapted to the roster and made the team great by creating strats that take advantage of all the talents. Meanwhile they were able to stop the ego of some players getting the better of them. Fog1ven could fit the system i am describing. One that holds his ego back and in turn takes advantage of his talent and builds around it. This basic idea can be seen all around sports.

    • @trumpetperson11
      @trumpetperson11 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting take. I think this is very true, though even in conventional sports, when it gets to some point it is no longer the organizations fault. See NFL players like Antonio Brown during his blow up or in the NBA you could show how Rajon Rondo has hard time staying on a team. As a professional player, you can have a large ego (and many of the best players did), such as Randy Moss or Allen Iversen. But you better back it up by playing really damn well. The second you fall off, no one is going to have your side.

    Few people know what kind of pressure Konstantinos Forg1ven had to face as a child, even from his own family, not to deal with gaming at the expense of his edugation and his future. This video can only capture a little of the reality he experienced. His road to top was full of obstacles from the beginning. He overcame all, cause he did what he loved most ... no help from anywhere. He trained alone in a country with no pro teams for endless hours in front of a pc screen sacrificing everything else. He found his way to Europe alone. He came from nowhere to reach almost the top of the world. Always alone but always armed with two weapons: His will & his love for what he did. He NEVER retreated, he NEVER compromised. He was himself and he remained himself. He did NOT blur, he did not change, he did not back down. He was not interested in liking to people & teams, but only what he considered right by setting higher goals in every step he took. The very good was never good enough for him. And that was his difference from teammates and teams he had to deal. Yes it's difficult to coordinate with such person. When he presses himself so hard, it's expected to ask more from the others. But cause of him, Europe went to a higher level. He was honest maybe the hard way, but honest. He indelibly carved his own path in LOL and became a legend because he was simply real. That's Forg1ven for some who really know him since child & that's the difference between those who think they know him.

    truth be told, abbedagge and gilius hard griefed every single game in that split. i dont get why people blame forgiven for a tweet while his team lead the whole fanbase to believe that he was the reason that schalcke fucked up the season. i also dont get how lane dominance on bot is a bad thing, especially in a dragon based meta where bot wins the game alongside the jungle. i just think people try to make him the bad guy for some reason. forg1ven is still the best adc to ever play on the stage by far.

    The truth about Forgiven is that as arogant he seems to be, he is NOT a bad guy. I happen to meet him and have known him for some time. I can tell you he is just too straight forward and doesn't "coat" his words in brighter colours as we all do. He knows his value as a player and he's proved it to be quite high.

    Forgiven was a Solo Queue player playing on the LCS. That's all.
    Also, the video skipped over why he was benched from Origen... Not many people know this but Forgiven came from a CS background. So, at the time he got to Origen, OverWatch had launched and he was CONVINCED it's gonna be the next big thing on e-sports so he skipped skrims with the team to get better on OverWatch... Aaaaand, that didn't sit well with the team. So they benched and released him. Talking about professionalism....!!

    You know who has a similar attitude? Jordan + Kobe.

    • @Todesschleicher
      @Todesschleicher 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. Both those guys had huge egos and put the team on their back more often than not, but they respected skilled teammates and coaches. And they were their own biggest critic. If they noticed something lacking in their play, you bet your ass they would spend 18 hours a day the next off-season (and the off-season after that...and the one after that if necessary) to fix that weakness. They were assholes, sure. But they always led by example.

    • @tgo007
      @tgo007 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Todesschleicher eh Jordan had the talent to back it up. Kobe worked hard at his craft but he couldn't hard carry his team. He was highly inefficient as a player and a nightmare teammate. Jordan was a nightmare too but he at least could hard carry. People will excuse your asshole-ness when you're as good as Jordan.
      Kobe, I mean his ego drove Shaq off the team to Miami. Even when Kobe passed away, Shaq's speech had a joke about Kobe never passing the ball and he tried to talk to Kobe and the coach about it and Kobe was like "fuck you".
      Also to be clear, I don't think just because Jordan had the skills to carry, it gives him the right to bully and treat people like assholes.

    • @dimoskifos8433
      @dimoskifos8433 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tgo007 Jordan always respected individuals with talent whether it was enemy or teammate. The trashtalk was mostly part of the beef the era packed. Pippen proved that you can earn his respect through dedication and hard work. Kobe was a carry just not as hard of a carry as Jordan and his attitude was for his own self motivation, not to make excuses. You didnt see Jordan nor Kobe give an interview and say my team sucked so we lost. Never.
      On the topic of forg1ven, he was an amazing player in both mechanics and depth of ingame knowledge. I happened to lane vs him a couple of times and felt it firsthand. Unfortunately his attitude was non justifiable for a person of this caliber, doing more moral damage to those around him than good and eventually put all the burden of them underperforming on himself to lift, which he couldnt do.
      All you can say about him in the end of the day is "Wasted talent". Yes you can say he went to world etc etc but he could do so much more if he kept himself in check. Unfortunate rly.
