You are very cheerful and traditional young woman. I would love for you to record more holiday videos, also recommendations on some readings on Jewish home traditions, blessed your family always,Janet.
I love hosting as well! My husband and I are hosting our first ever dinner party as a married couple tomorrow night--first thing we had to pick up was the challahs! Everything is all planned and tested and set up, and this video is perfect to calm my nerves
What an amazing Shabbat series! I am curious though, what a typical Saturday looks like for you. Would you consider doing a Saturday Shabbat video? Thank you for all you do and many blessings to you and your family ❤️
Thank you so much!! In the summer we. almost always go. on a family hike on a saturday morning and then relax at home and then in the winter we usually go to a tot shabbat!
Your Shabbos table is so....Shabbistic!! So welcoming and warm! Love these tips! Every summer I would buy a sunflower each week at the farmers market and it gave such a bright, sunny glow to our home every Shabbos! I am "attempting" to grow my own sunflowers this year but so far my last remaining one sunflower is being attacked by squirrels..... Wishing you and your family a good Shabbos
I would have loved to seen y'all at the dinner. I am fascinated by the Jewish holidays and would love to learn more about them. I think it's wonderful you make these videos thank you.
Thank you for such a relaxing guide to entertaining. The only thing that would make it any better would be to have recipes for your chicken, rice and kugel. I’m a by-the-book kind of gal, and I’m afraid I’d mess things up by guessing.
Oh Marion! This was just splendid! I totally know what you mean about serving pieces being ingrained in your memories of holiday celebrations. My parents amassed a set of Bucellatti silver, piece by piece, through my childhood (including the kiddish cup, candlesticks and hanukiya). They are dear to me. You make a beautiful Shabbat home and are such an inspiration. Much love to you and your family! Great job! M
I really loved that series, thanks! May I ask how you celebrate Shabbat with your sons at nights when you host an adults-only Shabbat dinner? This is not meant to be mean, I am genuinely curious!
Beautiful table! Totally kosher dinner and the most amazing dessert! I always stand in front of the rack and sqush them all to find the gooey-est one! Enjoy
Shalom! I love Shabbat, but have it alone. A lot of people think it's bizarre, but I would love to host an actual dinner party every week. I am new to Jewish customs and feasts. The food looks so good 😍
Loved this video, Marion! I just wanted to say thank you for making this Shabbat series. I have enjoyed it very much. I'm a bit sad to see it end but I am looking forward to your future Judaism videos! You are a real mensch! (I hope I used this word correctly lol) Hope you and your family are having a shabbat shalom:)
Thank you for the great ideas! You have great ideas. I have a wee bit of trouble keeping up as you're very fast. ;) can't wait till I'm moved and hosting Sabbath dinner again. Keen to try your recipes too.
Hi Marion :-) Wow, I have followed all episodes of your shabbat series and i found this episode to be so (extra) entertaining and informative to watch (and really good editing too, without that annoying fast forward :-) Lovely setting, BIG thumbs up for all! :-)
How do you keep the food warm, or do you just eat it cold? It looks like it would not stay warm very long on glass platters with no lids or coverings. (Enjoy all your videos, btw.) Thanks.
I don't have warming trays as I use electricity on shabbat but I keep everything on. metal trays in a very low degree oven and then just plate it right before we eat I also like not having super hot dishes on the table for safety.
Yes, you can! I don’t but because my household is interfaith and that makes it easier as I have people that do any type of cleaning on shabbos. But that’s something you can do and you don’t have to worry much, if I’m not wrong, the law doesn’t forbid any cleaning you might have to do, let’s say you spill drinks for a reason, or you accidentally broke something or even stain your tablecloth, any type of cleaning regarding those things is also allowed. To make it easier to explain for my friends I usually divide cleaning into two categories everyday vs urgent, you usually won’t leave dishes for a whole day, it may attract insects, it’s unsanitary or even if you could do it where you live you might still need to do it because you need the plates for other meals through Shabbat right? Therefore it could enter the urgent category. Cleaning you shouldn’t do: sweeping, mopping, vacuum, dusting, the type of cleaning you could have done the day before or do it the next day, you know? Just a tip tho if you’re only starting observing maybe you’re converting or have people in your household that unlike you will not be observing, if that’s the case, like mine is the latter, maybe talk to them and do a trade and do the dishes for every meal on Sunday and ask them to do it while you observe the Shabbat. Why, you might ask? I don’t know, I just have a hard time figuring out that if I have people around that are not observant and can do it, is it really than categorised as urgent or necessary for me to do it, I’m not sure, so I just rather not. Hope this was helpful 😊
hi! I love your videos and wanted to ask you few curiosities that I have. What do you think about converts? and how do you feel about different Jewish denominations such as Reform or Conservative Judaism?
I do! But even for those who follow Shabbat observance more strictly yes you are allowed to do those types of things but you're not meant to deep clean your house for example.
As a non Jew I appreciate your light and joyful explanation of the traditional things you share!
That's so kind of you to say, thank you!
I have Jewish family and friends. I love learning about the variety of homes and traditions! It makes me feel like I know them better!

What great ideas! When I'm invited to a Shabbat dinner, I always offer to bring something like fruit or a dessert. I feel it's the polite thing to do.
Thank you so much!! Yes you are definitely right and nice to offer in my opinion!

Kay Dixie I wondered this too. Maybe it stays in the oven on a low temp?

@@fernanda-livrosbyf3924 it is helpful. Thank you. ❤
hi! I love your videos and wanted to ask you few curiosities that I have. What do you think about converts? and how do you feel about different Jewish denominations such as Reform or Conservative Judaism?
I believe in inclusivity and that a Jew is a Jew is a Jew! Love to people of all faiths and practices!
Do you happen to have a link to the site where you got your tea set or store facebook?
I just double checked and Marks & Spencer no longer sell it (it was called a Hollywood Art Deco cake stand) but here is a similar one: amzn.to/2Oc4BRZ
Would you be willing to share your recipes for this sumptuous meal with your adoring fans?
In regards to Shabbat, is a person allowed to wash dishes after the meal?
I do! But even for those who follow Shabbat observance more strictly yes you are allowed to do those types of things but you're not meant to deep clean your house for example.
Do you wear leather boots?
What is shabaat?
