I'm still using my M7 and an iPhone 5S. Have the M7 rooted, custom kernel and 5.0.2 Lollipop + Sense 7 (which is still not released officially), overclocked to 1.9ghz without losing battery life but improving performance a lot. Still a high-end phone, and those buttons I think are way better than on-screen ones.
Barney Abu Did you get the 5.02 upgrade yet? You can get it from HTC, it's approx 1.5 GB, also, if you're with AT&T they can send it to you OTA (Over the Air) so you can upgrade and won't have to reinstall your apps.

Just ordered the Harman Kardon edition M8, brand new for $275, almost ordered the M9 but after watching reviews I didnt really find that much of a difference in the two so saving a couple hundred dollars on the M8 is worth it IMO
CassidyOG My M7 has the pink/red tint issue with the camera, it's a well known issue, you can look it up, it happens to most M7 users after a few months, it's a hardware problem with the camera module. Hope you don't get it but I did after 7months of usage, it sucks, it ruins all indoor pictures and all low light pictures. It's a real shame because everything else works great. I guess this camera failure it's a deal breaker for me. I don't know if it happens with the M8 but it's possible.
I have the M7 and decided to just pass on upgrading this year but I'm still running off kit Kat how did you get lollipop on the M7? I've been checking for an update but it keeps telling me my phone is up to date does HTC send the update out to all devices or does it depend on your carrier whether you get the update or not? btw I'm with Verizon.

I live in UK and yes updates may come late because of your carrier, here people with other networks got lollipop last year but I got mine in end January, I think it's better to buy an unlocked phone then just go on a sim only contract unlocked phones get updates as soon as Nexus and Google edition devices get updates.
people fail to realize. your WI-FI is going to be the same speed on every device. the main thing that would be different is download/upload over data which would be changed by better/newer antennas.
it does matter, he just did it incorrectly. he should have done it on a 100mb/s download and upload but he did it on a 10mb/s download and 1mb/s up so yeah that made it pointless and he should have done it on a 5ghz and 2.4ghz band
M7 one of the best phones ever, I had the stealth black and now the red one, both they are awesomes..., sound, built quality, design..etc, I wish htc rebuilt a bigger one 5.5inch call it M11, thank you for your video.
My friends use M8 get above 65k-73k in antutu v6.0 (the special is that the UX I/O score above "35k" with red color ) and their M8 running Smarshmallow
Tech Trinkets Did you know that the One M8 uses tricks to have higher scores on Antutu.Maybe that has changed now but if you download and run Antutu X you may get a dissapointing result.Then again these are only benchmarks which have nothing to do with real life performance and as long as the phone doesn't lag and the overall performance is good I'm very happy.
And I forgot to mention the Antutu X isn't version 5.7 so the scoring system was different.Without the tricks the M8 would get aroung 42000(that's how much my brother's MI 3 gets (Snapdragon 800 2.3ghz on the one M8 it's simply branded as 801).
I purchased the M8 over the M9 because the M8 will let you fit a paragraph to the phone's screen size ..you can have three, four, five, six words across in the phone's screen size and just scroll down to read , lollipop won't let you do that only kitkat will and the Speakers are better then the M9

Jose Muñoz Only pre October 2013 Models had that Issue, Mind did got it replaced in 2014 and it worked fine, They changed the manufacturer they used for the original one, so he won't have any issues
M7 still looks the best. You should've bought the sexy black matt version. It's got a stealth plane look about it. I do like the new silver with gold rim. It looks like a watch. It's smart, but I would have liked a black version too
I had a blue M7, it's close to indestructible. I have dropped it many times and it hasn't been big damages. Now I have a Huawei P20 Pro, and that is at least as robust as the M7😀

*sigh* all off those wifi-tests are within margin of error... they are all equally fast pingwise and download wise... upload i think so too, BUT you should've done 5 tests with each, throw out the fastest and the slowest and then average those 3
HTC One M9 over heats and screen is more dark. M9 Battery don't last long compared to M8. M9 camera is not good. Save some money and buy m7 or m8 if you really want HTC..
umar nawaz khan actually I own both the M7 and M9 and the screen is brighter on the M9. The M9 also does not overheat, it gets hot to the touch but so does any flagship smartphone nowadays. HTC just released an update that gives color temperature control so I'm going to be toning it down to M7 levels because the colors look richer when they are a smidge darker like on the m7.
umar nawaz khan As a previous owner of the M8 and now an M9, I prefer the display of the M9. Imo, the M9's display looks a little dull but the M8 screen looks a little too warm. The M9 also doesn't overheat, but it does warm in some heavy uses. I'm also using a custom rom and the battery life improved so much that it lasts much longer than the M8.
Frian Wong which custom Rom you use? ViperOneM8 or Android Revolution HD? plus do you have to switch s-off to root and unlock boot loader and install Rom's?
umar nawaz khan Actually, I was using Insertcoin and that gave me an amazing screen-on battery life. I'm using Viper right now and the battery life is about the same as stock, maybe a little less during on-screen usage. Of-screen battery life did improve greatly though. No, my phone is still s-on, all you need is to have the boot loader unlocked to get roms. I got the developer edition, which comes with an unlocked boot loader, but you can unlock it yourself from the HTC website.

How does testing your broadband connection speed over wifi tell you anything about the phones, when they are not the lowest common denominator? Irrelevant and meaningless, I'm afraid.
I have an HTC One and a GS2 and they can't be compared in any way. The GS2 was good in its time but the m7 is a modern phone and compares pretty well to current flagships. I don't use a camera much or I'd have to upgrade. Everything else is good enough.
I don't see the point of boot up times. It's not a laptop that we keep switching off. I haven't switched my M7 off in a couple of months and even then it's due to updates

What kind of slow wifi are you testing with. I have Xfinity Blast. My M9 gets 180 mbs consistently.
I am sure that the WiFi test was useless. as it tests your internet not your device its testing your router
