I unfortunately didn’t apply to any schools that you did. But hopefully I have a good chance at an acceptance with 6 interviews!

You should do a video on all about shadowing dentists, and how to go about asking them if you can shadow them, as well as one on personal statements! 💛
Allyson Hollenbeck Thank you so much! Are you applying next year? Thanks for the ideas! I’ll write a little about them here. I shadowed a general dentist and orthodontist in high school. Once I got to college, I knew I wanted to do this profession so I didn’t shadow until my last year of college. I wouldn’t recommend this actually because I had way less hours than the average applicant. I had around 100 hours. I started my personal statement a year before I applied to dental school. I had a dental student at a dental conference give me feedback on my draft. I changed it twice after that. I needed a personal statement for the postbacc program I was applying to at the time (UCLA). Then around May of last year, I completely re-wrote that personal statement. Then I had my dentist who I shadowed read it and I reworked everything again. I had my boyfriend read it and my bio professor read it. Overall, I worked on my personal statement for a good 2 months. I didn’t work on it every day but more like once a week. I thought the time in between was very helpful. Good luck!
